The government of Namibia oil company gets ten percent of the net profits. That is after the government gets about 40-50 percent of the gross revenue through lease fees and royalty. That is in the video if you had watched or listened. But often ignorance chooses to ignore the facts.
I'm not that optimistic that the oil riches will go down to improve life's of the masses. History taught us that countries that have it only the politians are getting richer. I hope this might not be so.
This is a waste of investment. If the money from this oil has to come, it has to come NOW. Because in ten years, countries like Namibia will barely have any customers to sell their oil to, as the advanced economies would have gotten really far in renewable investments. Namibia should focus on green hydrogen and establish themselves as a global leader in that regard. It will only benefit them further.
@@listenup2882 It won't exist if every car maker makes electric cars. To whom will the oil be sold to if there is no use for oil anymore? The car you're going to buy in 15 years, is going to be electric, it's a car you'll charge with electricity. Focusing on that will make African countries be in the game, and not play catch up like we have done for decades so far.

White people and Clever Blacks stopped the Shale Gas project in the Karoo in the anti-Zuma euphoria. They also stopped oil exploration and the Media went to war with Zuma over Nuclear power plants to stop electricity blackouts (loadshedding)

If you complain they accuse you of being xenophobic or anti African or whatever glorious terms they come with. Namibia really needs to tighten it's borders now before these people tear it down. Where do you live? Namibia is deporting Zimbabweans and Angolans every time. You guys you think that the illegal i migration is the problem of Africa. All the 53 states of Africa deports illegal immigrants, they do not employ illegal immigrants and have refugee camps. This is what I do not understand. Just before Covid lockdown, Zimbabwe of Mnangagwa deported illegal Malawians, and you know how? They tell the Malawian govt to send transport. Just this year, Malawi sent refugees to a refugee camp. South Afruca is the only playing ground for illegal immigrants.
Good to know. Hope Namibia will develop and use its God-given resources wisely and bless the nation.

In our own land and we only get 10% this is Unacceptable

Energy density is king and in that hierarchy, green investments will lose.
