I attended VLV every year from ‘99-‘05, and then just stopped going. Life changed and I just never made it back after that. I’ll be returning this year for the first time since 2005. Went to my first Viva when I was 22, and now at pushing 46 I’m back to see everyone again!
Political? I mean if you mean the people at the event, then yeah... the entire country is obsessed with either right or left politics. The event however has no politics.
Out of curiosity, in what ways has politics shown up? I've never been before, and I really don't want a political week; I'm looking to escape politics lol. But, it is an election year. Do the brands get very political on stage? Or just random discussions? I'd really like to know so I can avoid that if possible.
My wife & I went our first Rockabilly event in 1999/19/April at the Gold Coast it was a blast. We were we had just got married The Rockabilly's are a really fun culture. They took me back to my teen years. Love them all.
I just ran into your wonderful video last night. It was fun to relive VIVA again. I have been 5 times and go to dance dance dance, like 10 to 15 miles a day. That is a group that you didn't include. There is a bunch of hard core dancers that just go to dance not compete, they just love to dance. VIVA is such a great bunch of people from all over.
Viva Las Vegas is the greatest rockabilly family reunion on earth where we celebrate the lifestyle of bygone eras with the open hearts and minds of modern day thinking. And my favorite part is absolutely the fashion, the pinups and burlesque!
Culture Rockability ,vintage and legendary family get together from all over the galaxy, Is one the longest party 🥳 ever day or night always good vibes, there is always something to do. VIVA LAS VEGAS ROCKS
We’ve spotted ourselves at 12:25 🥳 Thank you for summarizing just how colorful, friendly and fun this event is. It’s like a 4-day vintage haven which is no wonder people don’t ever want it to end and keep going back year after year.
Viva is community, music and good friends (new and old!) Started off as an attendee and graduated to performer a few years ago. Can’t wait to sing four different times for y’all in just a few months!
Wow amazing. Well done Duke. After living a life thinking what I loved was odd. I found utube and Viva. My first day I said "I found my people" what I loved was not odd but special and to be celebrated. What I love about Viva to me is how it changed my life. Its so much more than a sum of its parts. It's been years since I have been. I am now single and to introverted to go by myself. Someday I will be back to my happy place.

Why in the world is this the first time I’ve heard of this,,, I mean this year? I’ve been to Vegas many times, honeymooned there and always been an ELVIS fan!
I guess I'm a VIVA old timer at about 10 VIVA's, but my brother in law has been to every one since the first at Sams Town VIVA's - the one guy put it well 'there's more to miss than to see' every year. Its Music, Fashion, Cars, Tiki, Booze, Tattoos, Dancing, Burlesque, and best of all - a great time! I'm pretty sure if you spun a globe and pointed somewhere, you would find someone at Viva from there.
For the Hotel? They book solid by Thursday Night the year before, but there are plenty of other options. I would recommend you join the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend Facebook Group. They have all the answers! facebook.com/VivaLasVegasRockabilly
I made a point to check this event out back in the early days ... then the rules changes and it became a overly regulated cash grab . The car aspect used to be a way to get some fresh air all weekend and drool over great rides and they pushed it into a saturday afternoon event ... lame The overpriced vintage market and costume party vibe is a big drag as well . But if it's about the music we'll that is generally fantastic if you can manage to get into the stage space to see it .... After a couple visits it got to be more of a disappointment
The good news is there are over 80 bands normally, and with over 20,000 people they can have all the fashion events and still not take away from the bands :)
Good info about the Vegas event although why intervew someone waring a muzzle over her gob when there are hundreds of normal people not waring one. A friend of mine who is deaf had to ask me what this woman was saying as they normally lipread. Shame.

Nice! It's changed in many ways but the same in others. :)

I miss Viva. The first one I went to was in 1998 and the last was 2009.
It's still going strong.
@@BossaNovaLife Thanks for keeping those VLV videos going and all the other stuff the two you do.
