Great video Phil, it was very exciting to see your take on the e-bike and it was great to see how much fun you had. I love my e-bike when there is no train to take me to the top. About the Sram Code R brakes, I've fitted SwissStop discs and pads and have been a huge fan of the system ever since. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend. Ride on buddy🤙
Cheers Christoph! Yeah... Marty likes his as well. And like I said... It may just very well be preferance and/getting used to them as opposed to my Maguras. But they didn't win me over... :/ And a big thanx for watch8ing mate... :D
Sweet whip Phil, I had not realized the Heckler was an ebike. For only getting to ride this for a few hours you experienced a lot. Thank you for providing the negatives along with the positives. Kudos to Radhaus, I hope you get more opportunities like this to try out new bikes.
Cheers Sage! I have a plan to do a bit of a longer test session on thois one... And I think I'll be able to get my hands on its bigger brother as well. Was pretty impressed with it so far, but I'd like to get a few more things under the belt as far as testing goes. But I need to wait for a a time when the weather isn't trying to freeze your face off and I have a bit more time to ride... Thanx for watching mate... As always... It's really appreciated!
Hahaha.. Sadly it's not mine. I had to return it after the ride... :/ And thanx for the feedback mate. Really appreciate it... And have a good weekend!
That’s a lovely bike with an awesome colour way. Bit out of my price range but I really enjoyed what the rich kids ride videos. Presented perfectly once again and I love to top you are wearing
Cheers Mick... Yeah... They're NOT cheap... But it is a super nice bike. I'm quite looking forward to a bit of a longer session on it as well. Thanx for watching as well. And the feedback. It is much appreciated mate! :D
Yeah Monster... I'm not quite ready for one myself... But they deffo have their place. And this one was really nice. That motor though... Eish! It has a BIT of power it does! Looking forward to having the bike for a bit linger in the spring so that I can really try it out. Interested toi see how the range is when I run it bouncing off the limiter for a while... :D
woah, those bits with the misty trees with a bit of sun shining through looked amazing!!! I am so glad you felt some fire under your Ahnoos, Phil! Great video - kinda surprised to see eBike footage on your channel - but really good and informative! Are you getting an eBike this year? Best get one without a, quote, dumb ass clicker though! 😆
Hahaha.... I will be putting up a bit of e-bike stuff here and there as I get to take a few out this year. But I am not making the leap to one. I prefer to suffer my way up the hills.... Half froze to death filming this bit... The weather forecast said 13 degrees. So I dressed for 13 degrees... And then the mist didn't clear... And it barely got above zero... I should become more German when it comes to dressing for the outdoors... Hahaha
@@TrailTales well I mean becoming more German when it comes to dressing would also mean sandals with white socks... so maybe think about that for a bit first 😆 Interesting approach! Trying out E without getting one... I myself have never even ridden one, but I want to change that, and am thinking of getting one at one point myself. Looks like I might learn some stuff on your channel then!
Hahaha... NOT as good as my last pair... But have no fear! They should be well ready for table clearing duties by the time we hit the Alps! Between my gloves and Drewbles' Snorr we should have the whole beer garden to ourselves... :D
Cheers mate... Appreciate that LOADS! I filmed this all on the GoPro Hero 8 black. And then did a few post production tricks... And the on-bike footage is all chest mount. Thanx for watching... :D
Hahaha... Yeah... It does seem you have developed a bit of an adiction to buying motorbikes... I wasn't gonna say anything... But since you brought it up... Hahaha Cheers mate... Appreciate the support... And they are a fun little thing to ride... :D
And I also read in this book once... I think it was the Bible: "... And God created man. And he gave man two kidneys. For man is stoopid. And bicycles will one day be expensive. And God looked at his creation. And it was good"
Great review Phil.. 👌 . I also believe that the SRAM code brakes are rubbish mate . Your initial reaction to riding the bike will wear off after some time but I will admit they are still a blast to ride 🤙.
I was actually out on it today again... coincedentally... And it was still a good time... But as with all things... The luster fades with time. I am, however, still looking forward to doing some more tests on in oin the spring... So we'ää deffo see how it goes then... :D And thanx for the watchi Phil... Hope you had a good weekend mate!
Great video Phil, the bike looks great but yes, something on the spec side could be improved as you said. For the brakes i think there could be a bleed issue, but in general SRAM is simply weak...just my opinion after i tried a lot the RSC 😁
Yeah... Wasn't a fan of them... But it may well just be preferance... Still a nice bike overall though... :D Thanx for watching Oreste! Appreciate it loads brother...
Funny that you don’t like the single click gear adjuster. Most in the industry of EMTB state that this is better for EMTB because switching multiple gears too rapidly on these bikes where you have a lot of power on the drivetrain, can damage the cassette quickly. It is usually recommended to switch only one gear at a time for this reason. At least that is what I understand. Great review though. Look forward to some more of your input.
Ah cheers for clearing that up... I was pretty sure there must have been a reason for the choice... I suppose the "dislike" of it comes from the fact that we have a few good sharp kicker climbs on the local trails where one needs to shift a number of gears quickly... So I often do a big "sweep'" through the gears.. And old habits die hard... :D Thanx for the comments and watching the vid mate! I really appreciate it. Have a good (what remains of) weekend!
Santa cruz got into the e bike market late due to trying to remain a purist mtb company but the market was soo hot, that they eventually caved . their first attempt was a high priced flop and with this model they seem to be continuing that tradition .
The price is a bit on the redonks side it is true... And there are a few things on it that didn't impress me out the gate, but it (at "first glance") didn't stike me as being "worse" than the other e-bikes I've been on. I'm gonna be able to spend a bit more time on it in the spring... So I'll see how it goes then... And thanx for watching mate... I appreciate it loads.
It's from a rando trail in Sasbachwalden... Don't know what it's called though... We kinda stumbled across it when we were doing Hornisgrinde week before last...
Thanks for replying. Haven’t seen you doing a video of a steep trail (probably one of the steepest in our region) near Bernstein yet, so I’m assuming you don’t know it. Maybe we can check it out in like 2-3 weeks, when the weather changes?Anyway to contact you?

Crazy cost for shitty brakes and single clicker. You're at about the ride age now to get on an e-bike. They are good though, despite what everyone says.
Hahahaha... It's not mine! So you don't have to un-sub... Although I would fully support your un-sub if it was mine. Hahaha I had it out for the day to ride while I was scouting for some trails. :D
