I was in Croatia with my niece at the end of September. We divided our time between Dubrovnik and Split. We absolutely loved it. I’ve been to a lot of places in Europe. I think Croatia was the most interesting and beautiful of them all.

Dear Taylor, woow.. I'm from Croatia.. I recommend that you visit Zagreb... Zagreb is the capital of Croatia, there is no sea but it is much bigger, and it has much more to offer young people, at least in terms of life, work and going out. I also recommend Korčula (an island they call little Dubrovnik) and of course Plitvice Lakes. thank you for visiting our small beautiful country and come visit us again❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Went to Croatia a couple years ago with my uncle (who grew up in Croatia) and I loved it. I thought it was more beautiful than italy. So many beautiful seaside towns to explore! He was also stationed in Mostar during the war so we went for a day - definitely worth a visit.

Polish subscriber here - Croatia is amazing and it’s a favourite holiday destinaton for Poles. Dryers are getting more popular these days, at least in Poland, but with electricity prices it’s cheaper to airdry your laundry. Also, Eveline Cosmetics is a Polish drugstore brand ❤

I can't wait to go to Croatia! It looks beautiful! I am an American living in Spain and we actually do have dryers I couldn't live without it. They don't vent though, they have a condenser in them that contains all the water that you have to dump between each load and it takes forever to dry compared to American dryers. But you get used to them and they're small.

Awww ... I know all the spots you went to and it made me miss Dalmatia so much. For Dubrovnik October is good because it gets insanely busy in summer as your guide said, but 3 weeks is too much because it gets quiet post season and is too small and too far from other destinations like Split. If you come back do Croatia again do June just before the main season when everything is in bloom. Do Istra and then go down the coast. Zagreb and Split are the two proper big cities where you have a more urban infrastructure. I won't make this post too long but I'd have a lot of suggestions of fun things to do. Been to Croatia over 20 times ☀️🌊🇭🇷 and to BiH as well.
Loved the editing ... well worth the time

I've traveled solo in Europe a couple of times. Hostels are always good for meeting people, though now that I'm over 40 that might not work anymore. My other fool proof tip is Irish pubs. There's always at least one around. They often have live music, so you don't feel stupid sitting on your own. They also attract international crowd and people on holiday are always up to meeting new people. Karaoke bars work too.

My mother-in-law has a house in Turkey and while most people hang their laundry, she has a dryer. It doesn’t hold a lot and you have to empty a container of water on the bottom of the dryer after each load.

  • @eleonoradamone
    @eleonoradamone 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Taylor! Here in Italy I think the preferred drying method is still hang clothes and leave them to dry outside.
I know very few people who have a dryer. And I think it depends also where you live, because if you're in the countryside you obviously have space outside for your clothes, but I'm guessing for someone who lives in Milan, for example, having a dryer is a necessity.
Also, not many households here have a room dedicated specifically to loundry and we keep the washing machine either in the bathroom or in the kitchen, so it's practically impossible to fit yet another bulky home appliance next to it.
To be fair, the climate here - except some mountain areas where it can get really cold - is always pretty mild and on a sunny day clothes can easily dry outside even in the winter months.

i love these blogs of your travels...brilliant. I'm older and I remember the war in Yugoslavia all too well. I have friends who are exiles, from both Bosnia, and Croatia. It seems all cleaned up now, which is nice...terrible history from the early 90's. so very sad. x (enjoy your travels! am envious xx)

Love watching this video! (Just a few mins in so far, paused it on tv to make a comment on my phone.)
Did Croatia late Oct 2019 (last big trip before the pandemic) and really didn’t know what to expect and was so pleasantly surprised. The country was so pristine, beautiful and has such a sad yet rich history.
We did the same walking tour that you did in Dubrovnik(which is when I hit pause) and I hope you got to explore more areas of the country.
It truly is such an underrated destination with so much to offer. I’m kind of glad it’s not yet on everyone’s radar…LOL
I work for a travel company and when I get calls for destination planning for Croatia, it truly is a highlight of my day!

Hello! Reporting in from Germany and I have an all-in-one washer/dryer for laundry. It doesn't dry like an American dryer (because there's no vent), but it gets close like 90% of the way dry.
Edited to add: Fun fact, DM is a German drugstore chain! I didn't realize they were in Croatia, but it's a great place for very affordable skincare. (Seems like the prices you encountered are very similar to how things are priced in Germany, too.)

In western Norway everyone has a dryer. It rains a lot so hard to dry clothes outside

Haha top loading washing machines are actually not so common in Europe (at least Western Europe from my experience), they are usually used only when the space is too tight for a front loader. And yes, especially the more Latin/Southern Europeans like air drying but tumble-dryers are becoming more and more common.

I really liked the editing, especially the closing shots with the song. Felt like I was watching a cable travel show!
