I don't mind there not being a Nitro Kart Adventure Mode, but who knows, if there is enough demand, we could get it. Beating the bosses will unlock them, but if you already own them, they'll give you 1,500 coins instead so you don't feel cheated.
the pit stop should have been handled like it was in sonic and sega all stars racing. All characters, music tracks, and racing tracks were all together in one shop, and you didn't even need to be online to access it. To earn them, all you needed to do is play the game. The currency in the game is called sega miles. You are given a certain number of sega miles depending on the amount of laps you race on (9 is the max), the course length, and how well you do in races. Then once you had enough, you could easily grab almost everything in one fell swoop. They could have also just given you more wumpa coins if you were connected to the internet.
Makes me angry that a good system like that was in the game that sold less. In a perfect world the games and companies that treat people well would outsell the competition every time. Hope Sonic doesn't go down this route
@@formarkv SEGA is one of the few companies where I sometimes question how they treat their flagship franchise but as a business in and of itself, can't fault them in how they interact with their customers.
The wumpa coin ammount actually increases depending on track length, i alongside many people farm coins on Electron Avenue since it drops the most coins out of any track in the game (it also helps that that's my favourite track from Nitro Kart)
@@formarkv May be a little late to the party but I agree with you, that game was a huge part of my childhood during the ps3 games. Definitely prefer it over Team Sonic Racing; that game felt and looked like a cheap knockoff. I’m still hoping that they’ll port the original or transformed to the modern consoles so that I can experience it again, if not then I’ll get an emulator and play it once I get a PC since I still have the disc for the original and transformed.
I haven't done a video review (I don't upload anything anymore these days, not that I was ever popular to begin with) but I have been going from comment section to comment section on other reviews such as here doing my best to bring attention to the pit stop and it's problems as much as possible in the hopes that Beenox will see. There's a lot of potential for the Pit Stop to be an amazing feature within the game if it just gets reworked a bit and becomes available to use without internet, as well as the Wumpa Coins and their drop rate in single player being increased. On the topic of Grand Prix updates, I feel like the best model would be to have brief periods in between Grand Prix seasons in which nothing is going on, but the content you missed out on from the most recent Grand Prix gets moved to the pit stop permanently and you have some time to go after it before the next Grand Prix begins. All the Grand Prix content should also require internet only to download the actual update, and not to actually participate.
Seriously, it's absolutely unbalanced and structured in a way that screams microtransactions. It's insane to lock a character behind a bundle and to limit access to a pool of cosmetic items for no good reason. Players are forced to spend Wumpa Coins on content they don't want just to shuffle the pool around. I keep thinking I'm playing a free to play mobile game until I remember I paid full retail price for this.
That Canadian Guy Eh mentioned it in his review. It's a pretty big flaw if you have the Switch version (then add that onto the longer load times) since the Switch's entire appeal is about being able to take the game with you and play it anywhere, except if I don't have wifi, I have to use mobile data just to earn coins.
If the servers for this game ever get discontinued, just imagine all that lost content that’ll still get heavily discounted promoted in the base game just to taunt you
Here's a reminder that Beenox made the Bee Movie Game in 2007, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions in 2010, then CTR: Nitro-Fueled in 2019. I got to say I'm impressed with how they've improved over the years.
One gripe with the MP I have is how sometimes the lobbies, not items, can be really unbalanced. Like sometimes you'll have a lobby with someone who's clearly been playing the game for years, as well as a lobby with someone who barely knows how to drift. They should add in a system like Mario Kart imo, which handles it's MP much more balanced when it comes to lobbies.
Yeah it needs something like that. Even if it's just as basic as "pick your online difficulty level" where hard mode nets you higher coin rewards. You'd still have some experienced players go into easy mode to be a dick but hopefully, the extra coins would encourage them to stay away.
The lobbies are currently entirely random and that's as fair as it will get unless Beenox is actively ranking their players and building a database to be able to restrict matchmaking based on skill level. Comparing lobbies in CTR NF to MK is an apples and oranges comparison because CTR NF heavily weights skill in its gameplay while MK holds back the more skilled players by allowing anyone to go from 8th place to 1st regardless of skill. CTR was always focused on skill over making an even playing field to keep less skilled players happy.
I think this is the best review of the game I have seen on TH-cam. It was incredibly informative. Other reviewers didn't get into details about the pit stop and the alteration of the courses' design. Congratulations!
I love this game but the pit stop and the wumpa coin mechanic makes the game feel like a grind and the 24 hour to get the stuff kinda reminds me of a game I hate the most fortnite but overall ctr nitro fueled is the most fun I’ve had this year so far and plus I’m looking forward to unlocking Spyro in the months to come.
🤬😡😠A WHOLE LOT FUCKING BETTER THAN FORTNITE!! I can win currency rather than having to BUY it with REAL Money!!😂😆🤣 Why do you think I dropped Fortnite in the first place!??!
GhostBlueFace 1050 if it weren’t for all the other modes to play, the wimps coin makes me angry enough to quit the game... obviously they’re pandering to the casual crowd.
If you could unlock anything in 48 hours, the online would have less players and the interest would drop for a lot of racers. I'm ok with that system, at least you don't have to pay for DLC. I mean... it's quite concerning to see people asking for DLCs in order to unlock anything, rather than enjoying free content unlocking by playing. This does not make any sense to me. People like to pay for a lack of challenge and rewards. What a weird world.
Man, I wasn't expecting this review to have as many negative points as it did. Right from the get-go when you said does it live up to the original or fall short, I was honestly shocked when you said of course it's the second one. To me, this is the far superior version. Saying that, I do agree with some points you made. I never saw not having a Nitro Kart Adventure Mode as a problem and I still don't. I never even considered that that was on the table because it's a CTR remake. However, they could've implemented the Nitro Kart characters into the Adventure Mode in some way instead of having them all be unlocked in the Pit Stop. And all the tracks are still there in Online Multiplayer which is certainly enough of an incentive to me to play them all. But, a lack of a CNK Adventure Mode remake is really not something I'd personally bother complaining about or see as any kind of detractor to the game. I honestly didn't see a problem with the Pit Stop, so I was bracing myself when you were preparing to go into that rant. But, yeah actually you do make a lot of good points on that. Personally, I don't mind that the items are pretty expensive in relation to the earn rate of the coins. I think that does help to prolong the experience and make it feel like more of a reward when you do unlock it. I mean, I'm sure there are people out there who have already unlocked close to everything there is. But, if everyone could do that in less than a week, it'd feel kind of lacklustre. But, you're totally right about the limited choices, 24-hour cycle and the cap-off. Everything should be available in the Pit Stop at any one time and let you personally choose what to spend your coins on. I mean, I wouldn't mind some kind of "Deal of the Day" system that has a similar layout to the full Pit Stop we have now, but there needs to be a complete catalogue on top of that. I'd certainly prefer that over micro-transactions. And the cap-off makes no sense. People should be able to earn as long as they are willing to play. Other little things like CPUs instantly having all customisation options, I don't really see that as an issue and it does give you a little more encouragement to get them for yourself. And beaten bosses not appearing as CPUs in following races. I straight-up never even noticed. But, even despite all that, I'd easily consider Nitro-Fueled a complete surpasser to the original CTR. There's more than enough positives and additions to the experience to out-weigh any of potential negatives and the fact that there's a whole lot more to come and Beenox are openly addressing a lot of issues people do have, it's amazing.
While I agreed a lot of his point, his criticism on the exclusion of the CNK track left a bad taste in my mouth. It kinda seemed like he was.... ungrateful kinda? That and the fact that he’s asking for micro-transactions to be added is also a giant disagree. But other than that, I’m ok with his review.
I love you dude but this comment is either outdated or just false. First of all, even though i never played the original, i'll safely assume it's still superior, especially when it doesn't have the same shitty physics, geometry and lying character stats. Speed in the remake controls too well making it OP in the right hands. The pit stop, the pricing, the rewards and the grinding in general is unexcusable. If the pit stop worked like in uncharted 4 aka pay BUT ACTUALLY BUY THE THING YOU FUCKING WANT! This is up for debate, but maintenable USF might be a mistake and was handled better in the original. Catchup items become straight up useless in high speeds because of that and they still haven't been patched. After all this time, clocks and orbs are extremely rare and while thankfuly orbs are faster, they also hit other players in the back AND sometimes miss first place. Clocks are even more rare so they have to SLIGHTLY up the drop rate and also give the clock a warning ticking sound before it activates. And about those cnk tracks while easily superior to the original, (Except for out of time and hyper spaceway) let's see how fun they are online when players or even online itself will not exist thanks to all these balancing issues. Having them offline is a bigger kick in the balls since, like Jack said, only thing we're missing is the cutscenes and hub worlds. Give the players that have the boss characters their coins back and make the bosses unlockable through that adventure mode. Obviously the team mechanic and items will not return, but you will still be forced to go either team bandicoot or cortex, only thing you would customiaze are the karts and those characters skins. How hard would that be seriously.
If they put the effort in to make all those tracks, it makes literally no sense not to include nitro kart story mode. They already sunk all that time into make those assets, test-running them etc and all it needed was a few cutscenes and hub worlds
I hear they are working on fixing the wumpa coin earn rate, so it won't be so inconsistent. But as a fellow CTR veteran, I'm still struggling with Nitro Fueled, because of muscle memory, much like the N. Sane Trilogy.
Wumpa earnings are already completely consistent. There is a rhyme and reason to it, make no doubt about it. 1 hour of Wumpa Time is allotted per 24 hour Pit Stop rotation period which begins with the first online race you enter during that rotation. The Wumpa Time multiplier Monday through Thursday is 5x while Friday through Sunday it is 10x. The weekday Wumpa Earning Cap is 2,500 and weekend is 5,000. Once the cap has been hit or the hour of Wumpa Time has elapsed, the Wumpa Coin rate returns to the base rate for that day. Weekdays the base rate is identical to the offline rate, 1x. Weekends the base rate is 2x. Also, just like in Adventure Mode, each track's base value for 1st place is based upon the track's length and difficulty. All tracks are worth 20/40/60/80 and then multipliers are applied and you are given a percentage of that amount based on how you place in the race (100% for 1st, 90% for 2nd, 80% for 3rd, 70% for all else including DNF as long as they completed 1 lap). Once Wednesday's updates go live, this breakdown for Wumpa Coin calculation should be visible on screen. All Activision stated is that they are adjusting the Wumpa Coin rates. That alone does not indicate whether the change will be favorable to players or not. We have to wait and see what changes are made.
I'm just glad you're willing to talk about the negatives. So many reviews just gush over this game ignoring its problems. It's okay to like something but admit it has flaws.
Main reason why I like Square eye Jak even towards his favorite franchises he calls out the negatives unlike most youtubers who can't seem to see thru their nostalgia goggles
I also was really counting on splitscreen online being included. Most veteran players have been playing the multiplayer for the last 20 years with...you guessed it, another human player. Playing against people from around the world alongside your sibling or friend on the couch instead of playing the AI on hard mode is a MAJOR missed opportunity.
Great review once again Jak, agree that the CNK adventure should've been added. You talked briefly about the remastered soundtrack but did you know you can switch to the old soundtrack in the options menu?
i reckon the CNK campaign will be added as paid DLC in the future (which is dont mind) most likely along with the CNK boss karts and "Fake Velo" as the real velo in the game is actually named 'Real Velo' so thats pretty much confirmation that the fake version will be added.
It's almost like they had to remove the microtransactions at the last possible moment, but forgot to replace it with anything meaningful, so now you're left to grind for coins without even having the ability to surrender your money to make the process go faster. Yup. It's almost like that's exactly what happened.
I couldn't agree more with the pitstop in this game. Unless you play online, you have to grind so much to earn coins to unlock everything. The items available to purchase are a bit too overpriced, but thankfully Beenox are making it so you can earn more coins offline as well as a checklist on how to earn more coins, hopefully they'll improve the Pitstop one day 🙂
I recently picked up another copy of this game for my Nintendo Switch that I had gotten last year. Still need to go back and finish playing through that but in the meantime, I would love for you to eventually go back and revisit this game and give it its final proper score it really deserves. Also, it’s really hard to believe that this was already 3 years ago! That’s crazy!!!
Excellent, honest review! My nostalgia goggles have been tempting me to purchase this, and I know I still will. But for my own N. Sanity, I'm lowering my overall expectations. I also thought the exclusion of Nitro Kart's adventure mode seemed like a missed opportunity. I'm glad you've clarified this for me 👍 Keep smashing these videos mate, favourite gaming channel on te Tube ☺
to be honest not having the cnk adventure mode is not a big deal. the driving mechanics, especially the blue fire, are far better than the original. he acts a bit ignorant because of his nostalgia
Considering we were expecting just a straight up original CTR remake, it’s not that big of a deal, no. But the fact they’d implement CTR challenges and relic challenges for the tracks and have no reason for you to play them, not even an achievement, is baffling. But considering that all they have to do is throw together some hub worlds, cutscenes and boss races hopefully at some point they can add that in.
I could look beyond the pit stop thing as shitty as it is, but the lack of a nitro kart story mode is a massive slap in the face. Like you say, they already put the work in to make all those tracks, so why not complete the cake by merely adding in a few cutscenes etc.. it really baffles. They also need to crack on with the pc release, after which I will make a few minor modded adjustments, such as swapping in oxide's old voice for the new one.
Was cut due to the fact it'll be patched in a couple days so I didn't want outdated info and a million comments telling me about it with this video! :)
Yeah that fucked me a bit. Had 2 left to do and boom. Everything's gone. Sucked but at least they've noticed it and are patching. +2500 wumpa coins. Might be able to afford a sticker.
Very well-made review Jak! I certainly am enjoying this game despite not having played the original. I do agree that the Pit Stop definitely needs some major updating, but, hopefully it will be fixed with the following updates. I'm so happy with the major post-launch support that Beenox will be giving this game, and I cannot wait for the Grand Prix on Wednesday. I'm also REALLY salty about the fact that CNK's story mode is missing as well, also, where the heck is Emperor Velo, (not his True Form, but his main form), I think he would've made a great addition to the game as well! But seriously, CNK's story needs to come in at some point, releasing CTR: Nitro-Fueled without CNK's story is like not being able to play as the boss characters in the actual CNK. Overall, I'm really enjoying this game and can't wait for the future updates! I'd also give it a 7/10 and hopefully it will get better overtime.
THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE SEWER SPEED WAY JUMP! THEY CHANGED IT. No longer momentum based jump, you have to time the jump SO WELLL or you’re just not making it. Makes Platinum time trial almost impossible!
Great criticism Jak! You're the first who review the game that I agree with! I love this game so much but it still needs to fix/add more aspects. (Looking at you CNK adventure mode and online.) They should also add custom servers, with custom cups/tournaments and with the option to remove power-ups as you said. The many times i got f*cked because I happened to be in the middle of everyone, not having the time or getting the right power-ups that I need to manage to comeback even though I know that I'm better than average. They should tweak how often you get a certain power-up, all too many times I've gotten a mask when I was in first place, which did not happen in the original. Also, awesome to see a reviewer that's actually good at this game, painful seeing people talking about this game meanwhile they aren't skilled at the game! Keep it up! :)
I really appreciate that you can thoroughly criticize a game while respecting that it’s a great game. I like this game more than the original but you brought up my two main problems, pit stop being online only (and the wumpa coins in general, it’s especially annoying playing on switch when at work and things) and nitro kart being shafted because it isn’t represented in the adventure mode in anyway, which could also have been the nitro kart story. The fact that you’re able to discuss the problems of this game while everyone else just kisses its ass, AND still talk about what it does right is amazing Thanks for coming to my ted talk lol
Here is my Pit Stop theory. Nowadays game companies are bragging about their active users more than sales numbers. The fact that Wumpa Coins stop being handed out until the 24 hour reset might be an attempt to have players keep playing for longer than a week. The ideal situation being someone plays the game for an hour, stops earning Wumpa Coins, and stops playing wanting to play more instead of having their fill and moving on. Or another situation where someone has already earned enough Wumpa Coins for the day but doesn't have enough to buy the two things they want and keeps checking everyday to see if the other thing is there again.
"The online mode I’m sure is going to continue its evolution" *Nintendo intensifies* As for the Wumpa coins one, As an owner of the PS4 game since June 19th (game broke the street date during E3) there was, in fact, a day 1 patch for the game (probably for Nitro Kart content), however Wumpa coins were something that I didn't get until I went to the final world in story mode because Apparently I wasn't connected to the servers. Another annoying aspect for me is on the Switch version, unlike your criticism with lobbies, you can RARELY join lobbies per day, been trying to enter lobbies with friends until we decided to stop playing temporarily, and THEN we managed to play...hard mode battle mode obv. Besides that, Switch ver is 480p on handheld mode in 2019, like N.sane before it, but it controls just as well as the PS4 version, I still like the game a lot (alongside Team Sonic Racing) but those issues are just too much to not overlook. Great video mang. Edit: there wasnt any form of microtransactions in 1.00 of the game.
I think overall the gameplay is fantastic. Obviously the most crucial thing that needed to be almost perfect here was the controls, which I'm sure we all can agree were great (minus a few shortcuts which I don't remember having as much trouble on as the original). But for me the highlight of this game was being able to play with you and the rest of the mods as the online MP was what I enjoyed the most! Great review Jak.
Square Eyed Jak's review of CTR: NF really should be updated now since Beenox has stopped putting out new content, because CTR now compared to the time of release of this review, many updates released that fixed collisions and bugs and somewhat changed up the pit stop a small bit. What still really sucks however is the pit stop and how for people who don't have PS Plus like me, we're stuck with grinding on the stingy offline mode coin rewards, and I don't really want to use microtransactions with real money. Also I don't mind there not being an adventure mode for Nitro Kart, but it still would have been a nice extra.
Square Eyed Jak telling the truth like it is. After watching multiple reviews of this game from so called "fans" I never knew anything about "The Pit" until now. Knowing that Activision is the publisher they will no doubt add microtractions later in the year.😩 Got a feeling that 7/10 score you gave will become an 6 hell maybe even a 5/10 when microtractions disease is spread in Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled.
And the microtransactions are in. While being in helps the buying be easier, it's a real shame they couldn't just have a simple menu where you could have different categories to buy everything from, instead of waiting for whatever appears to be unlocked. Not to mention the literal hundreds of hours of grinding for everything, or even just one item, especially if you don't play the game everyday and only occasionally. 10-15 years ago, games would use this system, and the only thing extra money was used for was DLC (which was fine, since it was brand new content). It's a real shame companies are so concerned about making money more than making players enjoy the experience.
So it was YOU who encouraged them to implement microtransactions and make the whole system worse! I'm kidding but in all seriousness your 2nd guess was right, they added microtransactions after the review window passed.
Ok i wasn't expecting this result, so i think i also want to take the worst aspects of this game and how they could be fixed *in my opinion:* - *First of all, nitro kart story mode:* something that should be in the game, and sinse they already give the characters and tracks on the pit stop, the only rewards will be new skins or costumization for them, and even Velo in his robot form, idk. But something that will always annoy me its the lack of anti-gravity, which i am very sure nitro fueled would make it work, instead of being broken like in the original nitro kart, specially considering that one of my favourite tracks from the game (and both original games in general) hyper spaceway, has been completly reduced, lacking some areas instead of being modified like the other tracks, which i find weird that you didn't talk about it, i remember is one of your favourite tracks too. - *Second, multiplayer:* theres a lot of mistakes and details that should be fixed, the lack of explanation to the mini games (specially for casual gamers), the bad game design you have to customize an online play, that part needs a lot of fixes. - *And finally, one of my main problems, the pit stop:* i disagree with you, i am completly happy with the pit stop, but stills having a lot of problems with the coins system. I disagree with any kind of microtransactions, unless they are just another option to buy the stuff you want. But i still agree with you about the unbalance of prices for new characters compared to the decoration, and the amount of coins you win per race, but theres a problem i think you didn't see: if you win a bigger amount of coins, the prices will be very easy to reach, and you will eventually have everything the pit stop has to offer faster; in my opinion: you need to win more coins per race/events depending on your position, but the prices should be a higher, let me do a small example of what i am trying to say: -Users should win 400-200-100 depending on their position in online races/events, and it should be a lower amount in arcade mode, like 200-100-80; and higher in story mode, starting from 500 in first worlds, and them the reward should increase according to the next worlds, bosses should give you 800 or depending on how hard they are. -New characters should be 4000-8000 depending on how important they are in the original story mode. -Skins should be 1800-2500, according to the skin. -Tires and vehicles should be 2500-4000 -Paint jobs and decoration should be 800-1000. -Packs should be 4500-6500 depending on the theme. -There should be decoration/miscellaneous packs of 2000-4500 depending on how important they are. -And they really need to add a lot of stuff from other games yet, but they will eventually come in the future. This means you need 10-12 races/events in online, almost 15-20 arcade races, and 6 races in story mode to being able to buy one character, which i don't see it as unbalanced as it already is. Each race could take you a maximun of 2 to even 3 minutes, which means you will take more than half an hour to unlock a new character, of course pretending you win all the time. Which i am not sure if thats that much unfair or slow. And of course, i am not very sure about the 24 hours system, or at least the way it has been implemented, i would honestly leave it as it is *but* you should be able to stick and maintain the stuff you want, just one per day. They could even add a ''level system'' (being visible online too of course) which increases when you participate according in your position, and when you level up they should give you a small prize from the pit stop. Anyway, those are all the most important mistakes that i found in the game. But, in my opinion, the game stills being as good as the original, the game works and adds new mechanics to the gameplay, the representation of everything as been improved, but all this mistakes really hurt it a lot. I gave the original Crash Team Racing a 9/10, and to be honest, Crash Nitro Fueled has a 9/10 too, even if it has all this mistakes, but, if you look at them, they are not that big, they still need to be fixed, and definitely beenox needs to fix all those mistakes, but i am very sure they will eventually do it, but, from my point of view: if all the mistakes are not fixed from the start, i don't change the score. ''If you didn't do your homework for today, i am not gonna give you a better score if you do it for tomorrow, it will stay as a cero'' I hope somebody cares about my long comment, and sorry if i made any kind of mistake with the language, my english gets a little bit dusty when it comes to long textes like this. Good Night and good video, like, i was waiting for it.
Fantastic video, I’m glad you talked about the problems with this game mostly with the pit stop. It’s such a shame because everything else in the game is fantastic but the pit stop really needs a lot of work.
I wish they would have implemented the Nitro Kart items to replace the CTR items when racing on Nitro Kart tracks. Just as an added bonus to playing on them.
How would Nitro Fueled mode work with the CNK cutscenes? People would complain so much. It made no sense to expect CNK adventure mode. It would be nice yes, but it doesn't make the game worst in any way.
Considering far less people have played that game than the original CTR, I'd say it does hurt it not introducing people to all of these extra characters and worlds being included. My alternative fix though is maybe there should have been a couple extra gem cups in adventure mode, focused on the CNK tracks. At least to introduce them to people, I dunno. Point is, there is a lot of content in this game the average consumer, probably won't be too familiar with. it's a game for the hardcore fanbase, which is great... but they're not the majority.
Really disappointing that you couldn't give this game a 10/10 even with the addition of Nitros Oxide as a playable character. But if I was you, I personally would have bought N. Trance as the first purchasable character, since he's one of my favourite characters. Heck, I could survive playing the game with ONLY Dingodile, Doctor N. Gin, N. Trance, and Pinstripe Potoroo if I was forced to.
The pitstop situation is similar to what they did with black ops 4 at first a purely cosmetic store was added which could only be purchased with in game currency, but it took a while to grind up enough points, later down the line micro-transactions popped up, with the way they're treating this game with an extended life, it's bound to happen Great video though ^^
Couldn’t agree more with the missing Nitro Kart Adventure mode especially as you say all the content is already there. I’m also a purist like yourself and was a bit disappointed at having to race against all these unrecognisable characters in strange new skins, especially in the adventure mode; most of which are just an actual different skin colour and look completely ridiculous!! Can’t wait for my man Koala Kong to finally get his moment to shine in the next Grand Prix!!
Just want to clarify that Beenox wants to test the waters of the Pit Stop first. When the new Update Arrives (July 3rd), We will get the Grand Prix Update. They even said that they are going to Adjust the coins for how little you get in Offline mode, and how we usually care for the Wumpa Coins in Online mode. For now onwards, The Best thing that we got for grinding out Wumpa Coins after your finished with the Online Multiplier, is to Spamming the shit out of Jungle Boogie over and over again, because it's the shortest map you have whilst still giving you constant 40 coins for every 90 seconds or so (Assuming that you know how to drive decently well.) We also have a softcap for Online mode, where the Weekdays seem to cap at 2000 Wumpa Coins, with sometimes a 5Times Multiplier or a 2Times Multiplier, or 4000 Wumpa oins with a 10Times Multiplier in the Weekends (and Friday counts). For by the time you took for other people in the Lobby, race and then getting that 2Times Multiplier, you might as well go to Jungle Boogie, since the waiting time you have in the Lobby is actually making you lose more, the more you keep getting those 2Times Multiplier. Say what you want with CNK's Adventure mode, because I do believe that will eventually put it in. Hell, we might even get a Remastered CTTR Adventure Mode as well, with actual enemies and AI to interact with other then just Ninja Penguins and Hazard Guards. What I believe is that Beenox had too much in their plate, so they have to do it in portions first, or else we would have to wait for 2020 for the release. I also believe that The Pit Stop is purposefully expensive at first, because the players are not expected for you to buy every item out there, and they would probably make them cheaper, the more and more items there are after the update (or at least I hope to god that they do). But the Pit Stop is the biggest offender of them all. When you're all finished with Adventure Mode, I hope you guys are ready to grind Jungle Boogie over and over again. The game just needs some more polishing, I would say.
Honestly I love the pit stop! It’s shit that it’s online only but It gives me a reason to grind and It’s satisfying to collect everything. I just appreciate that they didn’t make it a whole micro transaction based currency.
It’s not as bad as some people make it out to be. Yes it has quite a few problems which I hope they adjust, but when all’s said at least it’s not lootbox RNG bullshit.
Tbh I think this game will easily surpass the original once they iron out all the bugs and issues. The pit stop will be fine tuned, an option to force characters into default skins will also be added as it’s in high demand and the online will be more finely balanced. That along with brand new content means this game will likely become near faultless in the future in my opinion. The lack of a Nitro Kart campaign doesn’t bother me at all as it’s ultimately the gameplay I care about and I believe there will be a new Velo storyline as part of a Grand Prix so there may be a good reason why there isn’t a campaign.
Oh Jak, normally I try not to watch other reviews while I'm in the middle of working on my own review but I'll always make time o watch yours even if I'm not done haha Just holy mother, you unpacked a lot here about some of the pitfalls about the game that even I didn't know about. Admittedly I don't play online as I'm just not an online player so I wouldn't have ever known about all the online play details so I'm grateful that you spoke in depth about the online play and how fun it can be because I would've not known. I pretty much agree with most of what you said and I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed some hiccups about the game like the bugginess of Sewer Speedway. I too used to always be able to make the shortcut if I timed it just right but I can't seem to do it in this game. I went back and played the original playing that level back to back and I was able to make it just fine so I was just flabbergasted if it was just me having this issue. Also on the Pit Stop, holy crap I didn't know about all that. I haven't been able to play a lot and I don't leave my PS4 on all day when I'm at work. I'm currently waiting to buy Crunch because he's the one I want to play the most and I'm just aggravated that they didn't just have you unlock him (and the other characters) by unlocking him in some sort of secret races in Adventure Mode. Hell they could've been the characters you unlock through the Gem Cup races since you now unlocked the boss characters by simply beating them in their respective challenge race. The pit stop is what really brings this game down a bit. I know you said that micro-transactions and just trying to suck money through DLC is the norm these days (not exactly like that but you know what I mean lol) but all I think about is how I miss ye olden days where you could unlock all the secrets of a game through simply playing the game but I only say this because I played a lot of Fighting games back in the day and I just can't imagine playing a fighting game now where I would have to buy the character(s) instead of unlocking them. I agree that it's not so bad to buy things like skins or stickers or anything like this but characters in my opinion shouldn't be one of them and I just hope they release a DLC pack that comes with the characters because the current way to get these characters is ridiculous. I'm still working on my own thoughts about my experience with the game for a review but this was a great review and if anything, is making me think of other things I didn't think about. All I can say is here's to hoping they continue this game and taking the necessary steps to enhance the experience because the foundation is good at this point in time. Nicely done :)
I think I know the reason behind the Pit Stop: to keep players engaged with the online service for as long as possible to maximize profits. One can only play online by paying for a subscription. I hope the Grand Prix content awards a lot of coins.
So that's why it's not on PC... but I don't see how Activision would gain from that, they'd only be maximising profits for other companies (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo.)
I fell like they planed on having microtractions but because people hate them so mutch they paniced and got ride of them but still left in the pit stop
The pit stop need a serious rework. Maybe even take the characters out of that and make them unlockable via traditional meanings, like unlocking the bosses after beating them, unlocking others by winning gem cups, etc. Still, it needs to change alongside with the Wumpa Coin earning system. A very nice and honest review as usual, Jak! What you may consider nitpicks are shared worries most of us have, don't worry. I'd also loved to see the CNK adventure mode in all it's glory, while they were at it. But hey, maybe it'll appear later on as additional content! There's a lot of stuff planned, so finger's crossed. And I'm here hoping it comes out on Pc next year, just like the N. Sane did. Cheers, Jak!
Maybe do an updated review later since they are going to be adding a huge amount of content on july 3rd and also a big patch to address every issue encountered.. Beenox is truly dedicated to the fanbase. My biggest pet peeve is that CNK Adventure should have been here, but im always hopeful they will add as a Story Mode DLC later, they have to, its so good.
Ayyy 😁 I've been looking forward to seeing your review on Nitro-Fueled Jak 🙂 It's such an incredible remake in my opinion, great review from you once again. I do agree on your point about Crash Nitro Kart, I'm hoping one day they will add that games adventure mode as free DLC, that would be amazing 😉 Beenox have been listening to everyone's feedback etc, so it's always a possibility ❤
AHHH! If they included Nitro Kart’s Adventure Mode ... there would be some serious, but different, complaints: Nitro Fueled is 30fps ... Nitro Kart was 60fps ... People would roast them for that
One thing that really ground my gears about this game is how obscenely difficult it is to unlock N. Tropy. Not only now do you not have the code to straight up unlock him, hes now barred behind having to beat twice as many tracks against a nearly impossible ghost AI. I couldn't beat him in so much as a single race after spending nearly 4 hours playing him over and over. I couldn't even best him on Crash Cove while racing perfectly. His AI either needs tweaked or they need to bring back the code because as is, it's not worth the time or frustration to even unlock him.
That microtransactions fucked the whole game I know you can Only play the game tho collect wumpa coins but The wumpa coins system if completely Fucked up tho.
The idea of the pitstop, is that it will aways have stuff for you to unlock Still, is not that hard to unlock stuff lol And it's really good that characters are cheaper than most stuff, because they are mode important than karts and skins and the easier to get them the better
Putting aside my burning rage on finding out about the Pit Stop, playing the game again after years of dormancy was such an emotional and joyous experience. My skills were a little rusty but I soon got the hang of things. This was my introduction to the Crash Bandicoot franchise and it sure helped that I was familiar with the tracks. Well, now I gotta go see what the Nitro Kart tracks are like. 😁
As someone who hasn't played the CTR games growing up and sticking strictly to Mario Kart all my life, this game has been overwhelming with all the content and graphical upgrades to it. I daresay that it is my favorite cart racer yet! However, my biggest issue that I've been having is the unbalanced rubber banding with the game that kills an otherwise fantastic time. Hopefully something is done about it but eh, we'll see. Awesome and fair review Square Eyed Jak! Was really looking forward to this review!
In defense of Oxide Station, the gravity was increased in certain areas to avoid illegal shortcuts, particularly the one where you can immediately jump down to the section you showed from the beginning of the series of big jumps. Also the jump you showed also has increased gravity to avoid landing on the other part of the track when the super turbo pads cheat is on. EDIT: Also, Beenox promises to change how wumpa coins are earned. We'll just have to wait and see. Good point on the Pit Stop too. Hopefully they change it so that you can choose to buy whatever you want.
a problem I have with the game is lack of cross platform play it would help lobbys fill up so much faster instead of waiting, I am using the switch version since I like the idea of taking it with me wherever I go and lobby's here are kinda......meh, they fill sure but not as fast as I would have liked (although it's still early day's) another issue mostly effects the switch version as you said coins are not earned when offline so it's kinda annoying playing for long time's on the road or on the plane and not having any coins for it as for the pit stop......while I am not a fan of the stuff switching out, would prefer to have everything able to buy at all time's I don't ever play enough nitro to ever reach coin cap so I don't see it as much of an issue, although that's just me
I wonder whether, given that, as you said, all the content from Nitro Kart is basically there, they are going to add the game's campaign through some expansion in the upcoming months or not. That would make sense, if, for some reason, they didn't manage to make it before the actual release of the core game, but wanted to keep the content coming.
Let’s just all be happy that Activison isn’t totally wasting Beenox’s talent. I always felt so bad whenever they forced them to pump out poor to mediocre games every 9 months.
Activision and Beenox need to see this video and hear us out concerning the random items, Sewer Speedway glitch, and Pit Stop and Coins. I got to play Nitro Fueled at a friend's house last Friday, and the coins were very random. There needs to be a set amount of coins we earn for some of the things we do in a race, like holding 1st Place for the first lap gives you 50 coins, or maybe taking a shortcut gives you another 50 coins, even give us 50 coins for triggering hazards like Jak had pointed out. Hell, even give us 20 coins for Revenge shots done against racers that attack you. Finishing 1st overall at the end of a race should also be balanced, depending on the difficulty: Finishing 1st on Easy Mode earns you 200 coins, finishing 1st on Medium Mode earns you 400 coins, and finishing 1st on Hard Mode earns you 600 coins, all while adding any bonuses you might have earned like the shortcut or holding the first lap lead. Also, the half-pipe glitch and the items that I needed to catch up cost me 1st Place against my friend. Even the shortcut there was a big issue. Even those Missiles and Warp Balls need to be fixed to hit other racers precisely. Before anyone says that I probably suck at the game, *NO.* I happen to be a veteran player myself, and just like Jak said, the shortcut in Sewer Speedway was never a problem for us veterans. And as Jak mentioned, the Pit Stop cycling daily is also a major issue in need of fixing.
The Pit Stop, Online and some Oxide and Platinums turned this remake into chore. But the quality is 100% there and the payoff is ridiculously satisfying. Only time will tell if it holds up. Right now its an 8/10 for me with the OG being 9/10. The game had/has the potential for 9.5.
9:09 ? Really? Ugh, this shit is why companies don't do anything for the consumer anymore. This was a CTR remake . All the CNK stuff was a bonus they didn't have to add. And you're still complaining...
A few major physics issues, an online that is unbalanced and lacking in modes, and a not so well thought out storefront all really do hinder the experience. It's a shame that the game fails in these ways while in other ways shows such incredible attention to detail, specifically with the art design of all tracks as well as the detailed background characters in CTR's tracks. I like the points you brought up about the skins being a bit too obnoxious in Nitro Fueled Adventure, and that bosses don't join in on races once you beat them. And how you talked about the issues with items. Overall a solid review.
Well beenox did say they will be fixing coin rates in a patch on the 3rd. So hopefuly that fixes the issues. As for my thoughts on the lack of CNK adventure mode: Probably lack of time to remake all those cutscenes. Which with all the voice acting required might have been something they were unable to do in the timeframe they had left. Assuming they had all the tracks and characters fully remade with about 5 months to spare. I'm not sure if that would have been enough time to remake all the cutscenes and stuff. Especially considering Fake Velo isn't even in this game (Hopefuly he comes later in one of the free dlc packs they said will be a thing)
Beenox said they will be ADJUSTING coin rates. That neither indicates whether they are going to increase or decrease to current rates. We want the rates increased (or the Pit Stop prices decreased), but they may make it worse for all we know, so it's premature to assume the adjustment will be a fix.
To be honest, I didn't care when it was announced, I didn't think the original was that great, but seeing the stuff they've added, namely the Nitro Kart tracks and characters, and the stuff that's to come, I kind of want to play it. But from what I've heard some of the stuff in the Pit Stop might be a case of "once it's gone, it's gone" depending on the season on all that kind of thing, so there's that, but hopefully, it won't affect characters like Spyro, or anyone else they decide to add like Pasadena, Nina, Brio, Koala Kong, a "master" lab assistant, or even Rilla Roo, though there is stuff from pre-ordering that might fall under that given their purpose was to be pre-order extras. But I think to be safe, they should have characters that'd be locked by Grand Prix otherwise by buyable for a small cost some time after that Grand Prix has ended so you don't have to wait a year for the chance to unlock them.
From my experience, the rate at which you earn coins is random, and not affected by a cap. One race i could make 60 coins, the next 800, then 15, and then 600. Its inconsistent, but im pretty sure there isnt a cap on coin rates, but it doesnt feel great either way when i see my earnings go down for seemingly no reason.
I've been thinking the reason they are limiting the coin earn rate is more about them wanting you to keep playing over an extended period of time. They have these Grand Prix events on the horizon that they want people to participate in. People move on from one game to another faster than ever now. So if someone unlocks everything in the game in just a few weeks, they might not even care about the game 3 months later and be less likely to participate in those events because the game isn't fresh in their mind.
Sewer Speedway went from my favourite track to one of my hated tracks. How can they fuck it up?? Also the hitboxes have been reduced too so the crystal challenges and Relic Races can be a bitch at times. It wouldn't surprise me if Activision added a ticket system to the online races because it wouldn't be activision if they didn't have profitable features. I was kinda disappointed when we found out that Penta didn't have maxed out stats but aside from that its definitely a fun game and looks gorgeous. Loved the video man been looking forward to this video!! :D
I don't mind there not being a Nitro Kart Adventure Mode, but who knows, if there is enough demand, we could get it. Beating the bosses will unlock them, but if you already own them, they'll give you 1,500 coins instead so you don't feel cheated.
Do you have to start a new file to get those coins
I want my coins!
This aged poorly
@@MrV41N ? It’s not a reference or anything I just said that this comment aged poorly? Because it did?
the pit stop should have been handled like it was in sonic and sega all stars racing.
Same here
@@formarkv SEGA is one of the few companies where I sometimes question how they treat their flagship franchise but as a business in and of itself, can't fault them in how they interact with their customers.
I’m surprised he didn’t complain about uka uka’s voice
his pants arent either
Thank you for talking about the pit stop being online only since no other you tuber had the balls to call out Activision about it.
All the Grand Prix content should also require internet only to download the actual update, and not to actually participate.
a lot of ppl have done it
Seriously, it's absolutely unbalanced and structured in a way that screams microtransactions.
Tamarocker88 That’s the first thing i bought when starting the game in Hard Mode grind
I mean, if you consider Wipeout a Kart Racer, F Zero GX is still the fastest racing game.
you could say that, but what about star wars episode 1 racer
😆
Trackmania Turbo comes to mind. That game is brutal as hell too.
Readout fam it's wipeout on crack
@@SamuelJohnsonYT I dunno about that, I was only talking about speed
Nitro Fueled on release: 7/10
Nitro Fueled after the GPs: 11/10
Cannot agree more
Xingy, please,
If the servers for this game ever get discontinued, just imagine all that lost content that’ll still get heavily discounted promoted in the base game just to taunt you
Sjono perhaps one day, Activision will realize this and overhaul the Pit Stop.
Here's a reminder that Beenox made the Bee Movie Game in 2007, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions in 2010, then CTR: Nitro-Fueled in 2019. I got to say I'm impressed with how they've improved over the years.
Don't forget Spider-Man edge of time, and both amazing Spider-Man movie games 🙂 especially amazing Spider-Man 1, beenox have evolved nicely.
Ikr that's true
Thanks, glad you like it! :)
I can win currency rather than having to BUY it with REAL Money!!😂😆🤣
Why do you think I dropped Fortnite in the first place!??!
Jesus, HOW did SEJ not see this jewel of a comment??
Honestly I feel like this dude just wanted to complain in a video about CTRNF for clout
DAMN
@@Tamarocker88 Jesus Christ.😨😵😠😆
@@Tamarocker88 I hate it when earning coins becomes awfully complex.
PSYCH, THEY LOWERED THE EARN RATE ON SOME TRACKS!!! Activision has very seedy wording.
I want to hope that Nitro Kart adventure would be added as DLC later.
Thought I was the only one who saw the Twinsanity nod in Cortex Castle
AYYYYY
I thought after beating oxide the cnk story would start but then the credits started rolling...
Once this video becomes a year old, there should be a revisit video
It's almost like they had to remove the microtransactions at the last possible moment, but forgot to replace it with anything meaningful, so now you're left to grind for coins without even having the ability to surrender your money to make the process go faster. Yup. It's almost like that's exactly what happened.
Wtf. You really want to pay for coins then just grind for them. Pathetic
@@username15th lol grind when items are 2,500 coins plus, and sometimes the game only gives you 50 per race. Good luck
@@BigSmoke-xh5hi Play one race on online and you can get up to 600 coins.
I'm glad you've clarified this for me 👍
Keep smashing these videos mate, favourite gaming channel on te Tube ☺
to be honest not having the cnk adventure mode is not a big deal. the driving mechanics, especially the blue fire, are far better than the original. he acts a bit ignorant because of his nostalgia
Captain Communism Or adding it at later date
I could look beyond the pit stop thing as shitty as it is, but the lack of a nitro kart story mode is a massive slap in the face. Like you say, they already put the work in to make all those tracks, so why not complete the cake by merely adding in a few cutscenes etc.. it really baffles. They also need to crack on with the pc release, after which I will make a few minor modded adjustments, such as swapping in oxide's old voice for the new one.
I’m surprised he didn’t talk about the glitch that causes your global data to get deleted if you have too much time attack data.
Was cut due to the fact it'll be patched in a couple days so I didn't want outdated info and a million comments telling me about it with this video! :)
@@SquareEyedJak How about worthless gems? We're doing CTR challenges and gem cups for getting just one skin. Why didn't you talk about this?
Yeah that fucked me a bit. Had 2 left to do and boom. Everything's gone. Sucked but at least they've noticed it and are patching. +2500 wumpa coins. Might be able to afford a sticker.
Exactly my reaction with the oxide station muffled soundtrack in outer space! What an awesome detail 👏😂
You can’t say a games biggest failure is content that it doesn’t have and wasn’t intended to have
You’re reviewing the game, not,not the game.
Great criticism Jak! You're the first who review the game that I agree with! I love this game so much but it still needs to fix/add more aspects. (Looking at you CNK adventure mode and online.)
They should also add custom servers, with custom cups/tournaments and with the option to remove power-ups as you said.
Keep it up! :)
I would have been mad about the Pit Stop too...but compared to Mortal Kombat 11, it's a breath of fresh air
I gave up grinding for MK11. It felt like working, skins weren't that cool and it's actually just boring.
The fact that you’re able to discuss the problems of this game while everyone else just kisses its ass, AND still talk about what it does right is amazing
Thanks for coming to my ted talk lol
"The online mode I’m sure is going to continue its evolution"
*Nintendo intensifies*
As for the Wumpa coins one, As an owner of the PS4 game since June 19th (game broke the street date during E3) there was, in fact, a day 1 patch for the game (probably for Nitro Kart content), however Wumpa coins were something that I didn't get until I went to the final world in story mode because Apparently I wasn't connected to the servers.

They're fixing the online mode now so we'll see how that goes. I reckon it can do better with some updates
Great video, Jak. You're getting better each day. You deserve at least twice as much subscribers.
I respect your criticisms because they actually makes sense. 😎 🎮 👍🏻
So it was YOU who encouraged them to implement microtransactions and make the whole system worse! I'm kidding but in all seriousness your 2nd guess was right, they added microtransactions after the review window passed.
I’ve been getting hyped for your review on this! You’re a great reviewer/youtuber!!
Cheers mate! :)
Square Eyed Jak maybe we can play online together in a race one day! (Possibly with other fans of you as well)
@@SquareEyedJak yes jak
Ok i wasn't expecting this result, so i think i also want to take the worst aspects of this game and how they could be fixed *in my opinion:*
- *First of all, nitro kart story mode:* something that should be in the game, and sinse they already give the characters and tracks on the pit stop, the only rewards will be new skins or costumization for them, and even Velo in his robot form, idk.
But i still agree with you about the unbalance of prices for new characters compared to the decoration, and the amount of coins you win per race, but theres a problem i think you didn't see: if you win a bigger amount of coins, the prices will be very easy to reach, and you will eventually have everything the pit stop has to offer faster; in my opinion: you need to win more coins per race/events depending on your position, but the prices should be a higher, let me do a small example of what i am trying to say:
-Users should win 400-200-100 depending on their position in online races/events, and it should be a lower amount in arcade mode, like 200-100-80; and higher in story mode, starting from 500 in first worlds, and them the reward should increase according to the next worlds, bosses should give you 800 or depending on how hard they are.
-New characters should be 4000-8000 depending on how important they are in the original story mode.
-Skins should be 1800-2500, according to the skin.
-Tires and vehicles should be 2500-4000
-Paint jobs and decoration should be 800-1000.
''If you didn't do your homework for today, i am not gonna give you a better score if you do it for tomorrow, it will stay as a cero''
I hope somebody cares about my long comment, and sorry if i made any kind of mistake with the language, my english gets a little bit dusty when it comes to long textes like this. Good Night and good video, like, i was waiting for it.
*_THEY PUT THE FUCKING MICROTRANSACTIONS INTO THE GAME!!🤬_*
My biggest gripe with CTR Nitro Fueled is no PC release almost 3 years out.
Just as an added bonus to playing on them.
i’ve been checking your channel every day waiting for this review! i’m pretty excited!
Second you should review spongebob games☺☺
Maybe he'll get around to Battle Of Bikini Bottom since it's getting a remake
@a h agreed! I still play Revenge of the Flying Dutchman to this day!
Ah, it's good to see someone talk about a game they really love, and not get get totally nostalgia blinded and giving tough love.
Hehe I see me at 16:20
Nice throw :P
Really disappointing that you couldn't give this game a 10/10 even with the addition of Nitros Oxide as a playable character. But if I was you, I personally would have bought N. Trance as the first purchasable character, since he's one of my favourite characters. Heck, I could survive playing the game with ONLY Dingodile, Doctor N. Gin, N. Trance, and Pinstripe Potoroo if I was forced to.
The pitstop situation is similar to what they did with black ops 4 at first a purely cosmetic store was added which could only be purchased with in game currency, but it took a while to grind up enough points, later down the line micro-transactions popped up, with the way they're treating this game with an extended life, it's bound to happen
Great video though ^^
Don't jinx Nitro Fueled!
@@reynaldipangestu259 I'm just going from previous exposure to Activision, not saying it's gonna happen, but I wouldn't be surprised

I was just playing the online mode of this turbo charged extravaganza when this video got uploaded
I am addicted to this game! I beat it 101%!
I can’t wait for the Grand Prix Mode update!
My favorite characters are Fake Crash and Nitros Oxide!
Band1986 Dragon Mines and Sewer Speedway
That Roller-coaster Tycoon analogy was spot on
Couldn’t agree more with the missing Nitro Kart Adventure mode especially as you say all the content is already there.
For now onwards, The Best thing that we got for grinding out Wumpa Coins after your finished with the Online Multiplier, is to Spamming the shit out of Jungle Boogie over and over again, because it's the shortest map you have whilst still giving you constant 40 coins for every 90 seconds or so (Assuming that you know how to drive decently well.)
We also have a softcap for Online mode, where the Weekdays seem to cap at 2000 Wumpa Coins, with sometimes a 5Times Multiplier or a 2Times Multiplier, or 4000 Wumpa oins with a 10Times Multiplier in the Weekends (and Friday counts).
The lack of a Nitro Kart campaign doesn’t bother me at all as it’s ultimately the gameplay I care about and I believe there will be a new Velo storyline as part of a Grand Prix so there may be a good reason why there isn’t a campaign.
for a guy who puts this much effort into videos deserves more than 23k
Yung Pino he makes some fair points , but I think he is trying to hard to be like the completionist . The intro legit makes me cringe.
Glad to see that you’re back with another Bandicoot review! Keep the reviews coming, I’ll be here!
Big series reviews dropping the rest of 2019!
Square Eyed Jak hell yeah, cannot wait to watch them!
Been waiting for this for a while now jak, can't wait to watch this to see if I should buy it!

"CONCRETE PARKING LOT" intensifies
One thing that really ground my gears about this game is how obscenely difficult it is to unlock N. Tropy. Not only now do you not have the code to straight up unlock him, hes now barred behind having to beat twice as many tracks against a nearly impossible ghost AI. I couldn't beat him in so much as a single race after spending nearly 4 hours playing him over and over. I couldn't even best him on Crash Cove while racing perfectly. His AI either needs tweaked or they need to bring back the code because as is, it's not worth the time or frustration to even unlock him.
N. Tropy was easier! Try N.Oxide’s Ghost.... oooo Boy!
That microtransactions fucked the whole game I know you can Only play the game tho collect wumpa coins but
The wumpa coins system if completely Fucked up tho.
The idea of the pitstop, is that it will aways have stuff for you to unlock
Still, is not that hard to unlock stuff lol
And it's really good that characters are cheaper than most stuff, because they are mode important than karts and skins and the easier to get them the better
Jak saw it coming. 22:38
a problem I have with the game is lack of cross platform play
it would help lobbys fill up so much faster instead of waiting, I am using the switch version since I like the idea of taking it with me wherever I go and lobby's here are kinda......meh, they fill sure but not as fast as I would have liked (although it's still early day's)
another issue mostly effects the switch version as you said coins are not earned when offline so it's kinda annoying playing for long time's on the road or on the plane and not having any coins for it
as for the pit stop......while I am not a fan of the stuff switching out, would prefer to have everything able to buy at all time's I don't ever play enough nitro to ever reach coin cap so I don't see it as much of an issue, although that's just me
I was really disappointed that beenox didn’t put the power ups from CNK into this game, like the ice shards, electric static orbs and tornadoes
They are literally the Warp Orb Beakers reskinned. Completely unecessary.
Squared eye jack talking about blue fire:"name another well known racer that even compares to this"
me: F-zero
I wonder whether, given that, as you said, all the content from Nitro Kart is basically there, they are going to add the game's campaign through some expansion in the upcoming months or not. That would make sense, if, for some reason, they didn't manage to make it before the actual release of the core game, but wanted to keep the content coming.
Let’s just all be happy that Activison isn’t totally wasting Beenox’s talent. I always felt so bad whenever they forced them to pump out poor to mediocre games every 9 months.
Holy crap that's the crash toy I wanted for Christmas when I was a little kid
Man, you're a tough reviewer!
I can't believe Beenox went from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to _this!_
I’ve never seen an intro so fitting for a game review channel
