I feel like if you haven't done something within a few years, its safe to say that you can no longer say "I've always done that" and you should instead say "I used to do that a lot" or just "that's something that I used to do". Or else I could say that "I've always drank milk with pizza", even though I only did that while in grade school and have been out of grade school for nearly 5 years.
