In the world of Bojack Horseman, Zach Braff is dead. Cannibalized in that episode where the house sank underground, if memory serves.

Probably one of my favorite episodes of bojack cause of all of the callbacks and symbolism
Also notice how the phone cord keeps wrapping around his neck.
Jessica Biel set Zach Braff on fire in the underground episode and they ate him.The bird in the house is a reference to an old Victorian superstition that supposedly prophecises death. My grandmother believed it

Zack Braff died in the ep where they get trapped underground remember. Didn’t they burn him alive or something
They burned and then *ate* him. I assume that's why he's a butler -- serving dinner to the others -- in Bojack's visions.
