J'ai chanté cette chanson accompagné de ma guitare à la St Patrick dans un café d'Annay sous Lens (France) il y quelques années . J'ai adoré ce moment.
I love this song . When I met my husband for the first time he invited me to a Dubliners concert at Vredenburg Utrecht ( the Netherlands). This was on 2003..we have been many years and I love them. At my husbands funeral 18 months ago I choose mostly Dubliners songs. Great memories. I listen to them often, somerhings in tears and sometimes with a laugh, rememebering the good times we had together, and hij mocht we enjoyed setting togerher and Just listen to the great music of the Dubliners.
Everytime I go to Ireland to visit again, as I used to live there, I am inspired and i start singing all these songs. My irish friends correcting the words I use. Ireland is magic and it is deeply engraved in my Italian heart. You should know you are special, dear Irish friends.
I live in a working class mining village in S Yorkshire, when some 20 years ago, the local priest booked Paddy to sing at the village Catholic social club, probably the most famous artiste to appear there. Great voice and was so welcomed.
This song reminds me of my favorite teacher. He would put us on the stairs and have us sing this in kanon, usually in 3 parts. He was a 2 meters dutch man and his voice was so deep and volumeness that it would flow through the entire school. Sadly he passed away in 2004, but nonetheless i will never forget him❤
My Grandad use to sing this quite often when I was growing up. Brings back so many memories and can't wait to get back to Ireland this year to see my cousin who moved over there nearly 30 years ago.
Hello from Ukraine 😊 Such a beautiful song) And equally beautiful performance ❤ I think, you need to live through certain amount of experiences in life in order to sing so soulfully. Here the song is not just sung, but lived through. Thank you so much)
Ich kann gar nicht damit aufhören, Loblieder über die Dubliners zu singen....zeitlos, ewig, mit einer brillianten Schönheit versehen und für immer unvergessen.
The ending to this is not too dissimilar to waltzing Matilda lyrically in that both feature their own ghosts. And yes it’s a beautiful version with this audience
When I was in Ireland it was pointed out the sculpture depicting Molly Malone and her wheel barrow, The guide who was Irish obviouly did not have a great deal of reverence for Molly refering to her as 'The Tart with the Cart'
In Dublin's fair city Where the girls are so pretty I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone As she wheeled her wheelbarrow Through streets broad and narrow Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!" Alive, alive, oh Alive, alive, oh Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh" She was a fishmonger And sure 'twas no wonder For so were her father and mother before And they both wheeled their barrows Through streets broad and narrow Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh Alive, alive, oh Alive, alive, oh Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh She died of a fever And no one could save her And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone But her ghost wheels her barrow Through streets broad and narrow Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh Alive, alive, oh Alive, alive, oh Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh Alive, alive, oh Alive, alive, oh Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh

I love all their voices for different reasons. But Paddy's and Ronnie's are the best. Truly magical to hear them sing.
I wish Luke had been there
Luke Kelly's voice, imo, was right up there with the best. Like you said magical.
That's right what you say here. I am listening in 2024.

This was the first English song I learned (I am Dutch) at age 10. I could feel nothing but sadness for poor sweet molly....

They just were simply one of the best Irish bands. I wish they were still around. A very good version of Molly Malone by Paddy Reilly.
“
The audience too.
Just beautiful how much the crowd loved them. They so well represented their culture.
Can't believe this was twenty years ago.
They’ve paid to come and hear you singing to them but they end up singing to you. Simply Brilliant, wish I could have been there to join in 🍺Slainte
This song always moves me, it reminds me my granny which was a fishmonger. And The Dubliners are like a good red wine, they improve withe age.

Haunting song.
Still on the right side of the daisies
@SouthsideGerry in this case, I might substitute shamrocks ☘️ Cheers
@@SouthsideGerryit might be more appropriate to say shamrocks ☘️ 🤔 than daises. But very true. Cheers
Paddy has such a nice voice :)
Best singer in Dubliners, if you ask me!
I get chills every time I listen to this version
Giday from Australia paddy does a great job getting the audience involved with singing, not taking away from anyone else in my humble opinion

Bonjour ! comme j'aurais aimé avoir les paroles de ce succès ! ciao !
UP THE DUBS .
In Dublin's fair city
Where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
As she wheeled her wheelbarrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh!"
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh"
She was a fishmonger
And sure 'twas no wonder
For so were her father and mother before
And they both wheeled their barrows
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh
She died of a fever
And no one could save her
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone
But her ghost wheels her barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Alive, alive, oh
Crying, "Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh
Who remember this song from clockwork orange?

Dedicata agli amici del Pub Molly Malone di Lecce.
How did Eliah say: Now where is your God? Does he have a brake, or has he went for taking a piss, or is he in thoughts? Hurt not yourself if you love not your God.
So sad I saw this so late.
Poor sweet Molly
❤
Am tired now of everything but particularly TH-cam mixes
If you know you know.
No better or worse than any other country but in ireland you can probably enjoy yourself.
We were so poor we had to settle for mostly live o live-o…
