With the new farm update, all the time you spend to get like 10 dragonfruit before, you can use to get like a whole stack now.
In my first serious playthrough of Don't Starve, I just set up 4 farms and just planted my seeds in there whenever I happened to get them. I never went out of my way to gather any additional fertilizer or seeds, I just used them whenever I happened to find them. Within like one year, I got a sustainable number of dragonfruit growing, and then never had to worry about food ever again, except for the final quarter of winter. Now, you might say that a year is too much time for something to take. But I was growing all my crops PASSIVELY. I just threw seeds into my farms whenever I had seeds, and took crops out whenever they were ready. Those crops worked great as filler and pierogi ingredients.

Not trying to spoil your content but for any noob that things stuff will burn if u go in caves.... Its not true what he did was probably exit caves back and let them burn. If the player/s are all in the caves no somlthering will happen up there. So summer basing it's still safe. However see how I said all the players if there is someone up in the over world smothering can happen even tho most people are in caves, it takes one person for the smoldering to burn your base. So if u wanna summer base then make sure no one is on the over world and you're good to go. Summer baseing it's considered a good idea too so nothing stops u to base in caves for summer. Also Dean great work, pls never stop making this vids. It makes my day :)

Funnily enough....I actually DID survive an entire winter on nothing but dragonfruit pies, while playing as Wormwood with the help of a Wicker. Wicker got nerfed, of course, but the Wormwood-Wicker method should still work!

Been getting my gf into dst and holy shit man I'm glad my brain can block out all the horrible years of those shitty farms
Really the only time you might want to consider getting dragonpies is if you are wendy/ wes and are using a ornery beefalo but even then it makes more sense to use blue caps. I also played wurt for a while and healing salves are better then dragonpies.
