How i wish i could come back one day in malaysia and attend htbb again,my life has change a lot every worship song is like God talking to me,I am blessed because i know God love me the way i am.
Hi HTBBChurch, I struggle to reconcile the lyrics of this song biblically. 1) Where in the bible is it stated that Jesus stepped down from his glory? a) On the night when Jesus was born - the angelic host proclaimed "Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace and goodwill towards men!" Luke 2:14 b) And in John 1:14 was it not written that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. c) The glory of the Almighty God is so powerful that it is written in Exodus 33, when Moses asked the Lord to show his glory...the LORD responded no one can see the glory of God and live. But how then do the people get to see Jesus in the flesh and not perish? Jesus have concealed his glory but He has by no means "stepped down" from glory. 2) "In desperation I turned to heaven...", Should we only turn to God only in times of "desperation"? and do we turned to heaven or did the song meant Jesus? a) The psalmist said in Psalms 121 ... I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help comes from? My help comes from the LORD, who made the heaven and earth... should we therefore not turn to heaven but to God who is the Maker of heaven and earth? b) And we should take heed Paul's final instructions in his epistle to the Thessalonians to rejoin always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Hence, we should not just turn to Jesus only in times of desperation.
Hello, we really appreciate you taking the time to write all of this out - we think it is so important that we know why we are singing what we sing in HTBB. We’d be more than happy to continue a conversation on a few of the areas you’ve highlighted? If you’d like, please drop an email to connect@htbb.org and one of our team could explain why we’ve decided to sing this song in our worship times?
