It's because they can't tell the difference for urshifu for some reason
You both draft 3 mons, combine them into one team that you both get. You can have separate movesets. You can roll random abilities or draft those as well.
Give you and your guest the same pokemon team and see who uses them better
That would be sooo fun to watch!!
It would be interesting to do a video with that theme afterwards but using branching evolutions! So an eevee, snorunt, ralts, stuff like that, so that they can choose to go in certain directions for team-building.

I've seen Vinny and Frank do this concept with catching random Pokémon, but taking that to the starters is perhaps even more interesting, there's so much room for miscategorized mons, but it's cool to see how it affects the decisions each time
Yall should do one of these as a double battle tbh, would be fun to see the strategies you could come up with using the random abilities
Honestly, just doing a challenge where you give human names and like a human description to the Pokemon and choosing off of that would be pretty funny entertaining.
Paul(Snorelax), is a proper lad who loves a good fish n' chips.
Percy(Basculin) is a great guy, but gets a bit too heated at sports.
Sarah(insert whatever Pokemon) loves animation and collecting plushies.

Random starters, but you test your poker face.
Trainer A looks at 3 starters on their own game, and says whether they want to take left/centre/right, but does not reveal any of the Pokémon to Trainer B.
Trainer B then has a choice: They can freely pick from one of the two starter positions remaining, without knowing what they are, or they can steal Trainer A's choice and tell Trainer A which other starter to take instead.
How well can you bluff? Do you try to take a weak starter to trick your opponent into stealing? Or do you gamble and try to claim the strongest option as your own?

I honestly prefer when non-regional variants just have their region of origin added to their name. Saying "Kantonian Slowpoke" makes more sense to me than saying "Regular Slowpoke".

Idea for a pick your starter: You are told the 1st generation and any route number/name where a mon could be encountered.
Luke said if he got urshifu he could change forms, but wouldn’t let Patterz change his basculin? Shady stuff
Nah Kubfu evolves in both forms but the Basculins are just different versions from a different region
It's because they can't tell the difference between the urshifus for some reason
To all of you who don't know, dino body shape is bipeadal with a tail
Here's an idea, pick pokemon by only their cries... but one of them is backwards.
Or maybe pick by the pokedex footprint. (I they stopped including that after gen 5, but BDSP has it, don't know if that's usable in this kind of thing yet.)
Or maybe by the pokedex color. (Some of them are wildly inaccurate, so that's fun. You wouldn't even have to lie about one.)
I miss being able to see body shape in the pokedex, just like egg groups and colors its funny how wrong these shapes can be

The reason why some of the dinosaur body shapes seem weird is that the dinosaur actually just means "Bipedal with a tail" where as Paul means "Bipedal without a tail"
Here's an idea for a video:
Game show. You do something to not give away which one it is. Like this video for example and then you pick. The other person then gives away one of the other two and you can choose to swap to that instead or keep their choice.

I'd like to see one where you roll 1 to 3 dice to determine which stat of a pokemon gets revealed for the opponent. 1 being HP, 6 being speed. 1 dice for all pokemon of the round, or 3 for individual rolls to reveal. Could get the worst stat, the best stat, or an average stat to choose from.

You share 15 minutes with your rival to catch only 6 Pokémon and you have to take turns catching a Pokémon with said rival.
So timer starts only one person catches after you catch the Pokémon it’s the rivals turn and so on so forth.
And then you guys use the 6 Pokémon that were caught and have the same team, but see who can make the team work better.
the pokémon sleep music during the ad. it really is great and you should consider doing content on it!
My favourite Pokemon-Line is the Togepi-Line… It was shocking to fing out that the Spike-BALL Pokemon that is literally as round as an egg, is the humanoid shape (=Paul) in the Pokedex 🙃💀

“Pokémon but we cannot lie”: the game is simple, the other person gets to ask 1-3 (whatever seems fair) questions about their starters before picking. The other player cannot lie and their goal is to be vague as cause be and mislead the other with half truths. For example “are they good mons” “1/3” the person then gets nervous or overthinks because they only have a 1/3 chance of getting it right. In actuality only 1 was bad. That 1/3 was for player 2 to be happy, not one. The question never specified leading to the half truth

What about an Ability Draft episode where you are given 3 random abilities to choose from, and you can then choose any pokemon to put that ability on to battle with, with only learning moves they normally can via level up/tm

I would love a battle where you choose Pokémon but had to keep it at whatever stage it’s at 😂 so you can get really lucky with a good final evolution or get a kricketot and it has to go in as a kricketot for the battle 😂

the only problem with this concept is you guys are just looking at the images. For example, the "little dino-baby's" category is "Bipedal with a tail" meaning anywhere from Aggron to Psyduck, or even Cetitan. Whereas "Patamon's" category is simply Pokemon with "A single pair of wings" meaning most if not all bird pokemon, but also Mantine, Gliscor, and Orbeetle.
