I was born in 1957, and when I really started dancing! oh and smooching it was because of this soul man, its been Ecstacy ever since and I am 67 and going strong
I am here. Because of the dark shadows movie, the newest movie based from the 1970s series dark shadows vampire TV series. So, I recognize this song from this scene where the vampire, and the witch are left alone and ( I think we know the rest ) this song is playing in the background in the movie. Oh my goodness, this is the best movie I'd ever seen with the best music. I'm 30 years old and my dad taught me the best music.
good movie soundtrack too...this song was also featured in the TV show Ally McBeal & had some funny dance moments & even a guest appearance from Barry White himself. I've seen weddings where they danced to it.
This was my Mum and Dads song. Brings back such lovely memories for me as a child. I always tear up when I hear it. Can picture them so happy and dancing whenever we had parties at home. 🥰
brings back the best memories for me also when I hear this song.....when having a small transistor radio and hearing it on the grainy AM radio station KLIV 1600 was playing this song back in the 1970's....
I miss Barry just as much as ALL his other faithful fans. I'm 70 now & remember being infatuated with him when 19. This is one of my favs. Thanks again for sharing a magnificent piece of the past from a man who had to be one of the most romantic men on earth. By the way, while listening to this (for the ???? time, it stopped on its own & there was a 3 to 5 second ad commercial of some yapping kids, sounded like a cartoon. I wasn't close to my phone to see what it was, but I do know, it's never been there before. Blessings, L :)
As time passes and memories stay. Legends really should have an eternal place, even if they are not present. I would say that the 70`s were magic in music and Barry White that privilege and that we still hear him today as the ultimate soul star.
When I hear this song it just lifts up my soul. How can you not dance and remember the good times of 70's disco? The lights, the fog, the dances, the clothes....wonderful memories forever. Peace and love to all. To the Millennials and Gen Z hope you enjoy this too. If you don't now you will eventually. It took me a long time to appreciate my Dad's Big Band music but today I do.
Who lived and lived these golden years, today they are in the range of 50-60 years ... To review all this is like being reborn, going back in time ... Happiness for all !!
It's alive it's alive and you listen it's alive it's alive religion is alive okay don't worry his religion is a lie back in your heart play the same music you listen July
Just got back from my sons wedding in Redondo Beach. I made sure the DJ played this song at the reception. I hope those two kids live by Barrys message of this wonderful song!!!
In 2007, a club DJ remixed and remastered this classic hit for hard core club fans around the world. On an early Monday morning (probably around 4am) when the thousands of clubbers at Crobar in South Beach had been dancing since 10pm Sunday night, the DJ (Monty Q) ceremoniously ended his set for the night. The crowd was not ready to go home as they hollered, yelled and clapped for more. Finally, Monty put on the extended remix of Barry White's; My First My Last My Everything. I thought the club was going to explode! Everyone: young people in their 20's, older people in their 50's and 60's, gays, straights, Latinos Blacks Whites and everyone in between crowded the dance floor. I thought to myself; Barry has to be so pleased that his legacy has reached so many different people - many of whom were either babies or not even born when this song came out. How many performers can make that claim? Thanks, Mr. White.
they can make as much remixes and mixes as they want, the original of the world and superstar Barry White you can't beat! it is and remains Mr. Barry White one of the greatest of all time ! Rest in Peace Barry
Oh my ---I played the violin as a 10 year old kid and I just loved everything Barry White did musically ---gorgeous strings that I could hear so well and the Three Degrees sounded like angels to me ---I was 10 in 1974 and the music was awesome
Sadly our millennials and youngsters d not and never will understand when we went to clubs to dance and flirt and smell and looked good not twerk and have holes and curse for 12 minutes with a stupid generated blasphemy compared to this incredible instrumental with the VOICE OF MR. WHITE R.I.P. MASTER!
Many years ago, I was teaching in a 1-6 grade elementary school in Bridgeton, NC, and Barry White visited unannounced. How he ever found the school is beyond me because it was blocks off a blue highway. He didn’t sing, but he patiently signed autographs for the teachers and spoke to the students about the scourge of drugs. I remember that he smelled so good while I was shaking his hand. His brother had been murdered in a drug deal gone bad. The man was a giant! I’m 5’3” and he towered over me by at least a foot. He and his entourage stayed for an hour or so. No idea what prompted him to pay our little school that honor but it’s one of the nice memories I have at 77 years of age.
Wow. Diane, I am also from Craven County. Just across the bridge, New Bern. In 1977 I was twelve and was the last class to attend Central school. It's funny how music can bring people together not only from around the world but just from basically the same city. I'm now 55 and still live in NC just not New Bern. Stay Blessed.
Ralltman Hi Wow! My late husband and I built a home in Fairfield Harbour! I taught in Bayboro for several years. A beautiful town, with the bear sticking out of City Hall. It’s been a long time since I was there and I imagine things are very different now. I used to watch the raft races behind the then new hotel and we belonged to the small theater. Such nice memories of a time passed. You are the third person to tell me you live nearby. Wouldn’t it be great for us to meet someday and play some Barry? Thanks for helping me to remember some wonderful times. Stay safe and let’s hope this scourge ends soon so we all can get back to what’s normal for each of us. Regards, Diane
Thank God my Mom played Barry's records!!! I played violin and I loved the strings straight away...even tho I was just 10 years old, I was beyond my age then 🙂 and I thought the Three Degrees sounded like angels to truly ❤️❤️❤️
Barry white is a fabulous artist I love all of his music and have all of his records and play them regularly this is when music was real music not like the rubbish of today.

One year after Barry passed away I went to a Brenton Wood concert where his 10 men played six Barry White songs in tribute. No one else but me went out on the dance floor, a huge cement round atArcero Park In El Monte, California. It remains a high in my life.
Love, love love Barry White!! A legend well loved and remembered!💖🙏 He sang this beautiful song with Paverotti as he sang in Italian he loved this song too! Both rest in legendary piece. I know mom is.💖
This song may have been unable to knock Elton John off of #1 on the US pop charts, but it found no problem going all the way to the very top in the UK one for two weeks in December 1974, well before Elton had his first UK Number 1 in 1976. As they said on the BBC chart show on December 7, 1974 : Barry White is TOP OF THE POPS!
The world had the great Barry White and we at Barringer High School were Nwk NJ had Barry's look alike in Mr Daniels, music teacher and marching band director during the 70"s...thank you both so much for your leadership and artistry....
This beautiful man and this song takes me back to the 1970's when I was a young girl in the Army. 300 women to every 1000 men LOL. Anyway the story behind this song for me is I would go to the Red Cross at Walter Reed. I met a Black Master Sargent. He closed the Red Cross then go over to the NCO club on Friday and Saturday nights. One night I was off and he invited me to go with him. He was like my bull dog! The guys that wanted to dance with me had to ask him before they even got to ask me. After the club closed he would drive me out to my barracks at Forest Glen. but not before we would always stop for hamburgers! He finally told me his story and I never watched a large man turn into such a small person crying and missing her and his children. To this day this song and Mr Barry White always reminds me of Sarge!
I am born in 2002 and this song makes me feel like I was born in the 1970‘s what an absolute masterpiece 🙌🏾
I know that’s right I’m right behind you
There was and is only one Barry White
You know why? Because he’s the best
True U won't this kind of voice now
Maybe there will be but........
