  • To skip the intro where I show pictures of past and future tutorial advanced to 1:00
    I saw this necklace and couldn't help but be inspired to create one of my own. I like this style because its not a traditional lariat and because of this hangs better. In the tutorial I use 4 mm lilac coloured bicone swarovski crystals, a 10 mm silver round flat charm, 12 inches of 24 gauge silver wire and a 16 inch chain. For the the other version I used 4 mm garnet rondelles, a 10 mm MOP clover bead and also a 10 mm diamond shaped pendant, 12 inches, 24 gauge gold wire and a 16 inch chain. You can really play with the design and use whatever beads you have on hand, with the materials I used I came up with a 12 inch dangle that dips a little lower when it pulls down on the chain. I will probably end up doing more celebrity style videos as I find them really fun, I hope you enjoy them too. I wasn't able to find out the designer of the necklace but if I do I will post it here in case you want to see the real thing.
    Here's a link to my video that shows the technique I used to make this necklace if you need more practice.

      She told everyone at the beginning that she has other videos that show specific detail. If she went super slow she would never fit the entire process into the video. She's extremely beneficial to me and has taught me how to make so many things but I found ALL her videos and watched them.

    I decided to make this one today instead of the spiral one Denise. It’s so pretty and works up fairly quickly. Of course, had to use my favorite copper with green fire polished beads. I put a large glass variegated brown bead at the bottom. Then started with the 6mm green beads. Since my beads were a bit larger, I stopped at 7 and the length came out perfect. Thanks for a great project. Hope you continue to survive the winter. Where are you located, btw?

    Do we have to wrap to close the half open loop? Or I can just close it after hooking it on without wrapping? Thanks!

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Josie Lau there are two ways to do it one is the Wrapped closed loop as I show here, it's more stable but there's also just an open loop like here www.wigjig.com/jewelry-techniques/loops/988-open-loops both will work just fine for this project. Hope this helps 😊

    Denise, I love this video and will try to make this at some point. My question is do you use half hard or dead soft wire?

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Selena Coul I almost always use dead soft for all my projects except where I need a little more stiffness like for earwires, hope this helps 😊

    • @selenacoul
      @selenacoul 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Denise, thank you! I had a feeling! I've had a devil of a time with the tail ends that are so stiff and stab my poor thumbs! I am so excited about making my own jewelry and also selling. I have a lot to learn, but that's just part of the fun of the process. Thank you again for your amazing videos and patience with my questions.

    Hi. your necklace is beautiful. i have a question.. I only have 26n 20 gauge wire. Can this necklace be made using these size gauge wire

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mary Owens 20 gauge is perfect if it fits through your beads, 26 gauge isn't as sturdy for a necklace so I wouldn't recommend it, hope this helps 😊

    how many beads in total is used in your bouquet necklace?

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +John Daniel I don't have the necklace anymore but my guess would be between 100-125, 4 mm roundels. The size of the beads will also affect the amount you need as well as the length of your desired necklace, hope this helps. 😊

    Nice design, but a very poor tutorial if that was your intention. Way too fast and much of what was going on was hidden by your hands or completely off camera.

      +Dolores Thompson I'm a student just like many people who come to this channel, so I'm learning too. I have slowed down and have used the viewer comments to make better videos. I feel my more recent tutorials show that I've improved. At the end of the day I'm just doing free content trying to share what I know in hopes that someone out there will benefit from my experience.😊
