Realy great comparison, your sounds are awfully good! Thanks! Currently I have one strat with EMG-DG20 set, so this one has SA picks, I really love them. I would REALLY like to here the 89 split with the middle singlecoal. There are no demos online anywhere of that position. I really don't like to know what that 89 sounds like in the number two position.

Great demo. The SLV sounds very similar to the SA where I expected it to be brighter. Unfortunately the Floyd Rose has a big impact on tone so do you think the SLV or SA is the better neck single for playing many styles ?
Thanks ! 👍 You're right, the Floyd add some brightness on the overall tone. But the SA are a bit brighter than the SLV. In the meantime, the SLV are hotter with more mid, so more versatile and better in crunch and distorsion to me ! 😉
Currently building a custom guitar. I think I've decided on a Fshman active P90 for the neck and a Seymour Duncan Blackouts for the bridge. Trying to decide what would be a good middle pickup to blend with those. Leaning towards the SLV but was curious what you thought. Is the SA or SLV better suited for mixing with humbuckers?
Thanks for great video. At the moment i have SA neck and middle. I would like to have little more output. I've been thinking about Seymour Duncan Blackout Strats. But i guess they don't have so much strat sound? In terms of output. Are the SAVs hotter or weaker than SA?
I am planning to replace my sa to slv because i felt sa has less mid as 4th PU position and inept at chunky cutting riffs. But I do not actually have or have never even tried the slv, I just wanna confirm my POV gained on this video is correct. Also planning to add 9V battery to make it 18V for headroom.

Hi @nicholas desmarest thanks for this comparison. I'm toying with getting a set of EMGs after 30 years of staying with passive alnico pickups. Which singles do you like best in your strat - I'm leaning towards the SL20 set (85/SLV/SLV) but I could be tempted with the 85/SA/SA combination. I never really use a single in the bridge. I'd be inclined to install both a Vol and Tone, is it worth also considering the SPC (does it really add anything that a mid boost in my Fractal can't do?). I'm half tempted to just go twin humbucker, 85/60A. Thanks!
