This is the song that got me into reggae. I was looking for the Bob Marley version of "I Shot the Sheriff," which had been a big radio hit for Eric Clapton. I found the live album before I found the studio version in the "ska/reggae" bin. Took it home. Dropped the needle. First song on the album is Trenchtown Rock. 20 seconds later, I am hooked for life. That was 1978.

Amazing version. I don't know if Scratch was doing the best he could with the equipment, or he did a sub par job, but those early recordings are rough. Nice and clean. Much appreciated. P.S, RIP Scratch. he may have done dirty to bands in the past, but he was a charismatic, influential, and foundational character in the scene
