The past 10 years have been transformative for me. I joined a program of recovery to save my life from addiction, which opened my eyes to the 12 steps. Years of resentments were burned and I was able to forgive my abusive father. He passed away in March this year, and I was by his side until the end. Unconditional love is a gift from our Creator, and it is possible. I had a great deal of contempt prior to investigation, but I can tell anyone struggling, the 12 steps will work miracles in your life.

Oh my, you have described my life! It is unfolding as your readings predict. Everytime I drop by to listen, I learn things about myself that have me shake my head to self realization. I am Black or White there is no middle, and i do get personally offended when i am criticized, especially by loved ones. This is when i get quiet, and shut down. I am now trying to look at things with an open mind and learn to care more about myself. Thank you.. I have a chronic pain disorder and lost my career in teaching 😱and such . Had to down size . lost everything.. Community , friends .. I'm alone endlessly here. This new house was awful . Me and my family were moved out in to country. No car now and the decorating has been on me. Husband works. I can take days , week before picking up a tool. It's frustrating as I'm a qualified interior desighner. With no money and it's taken 4 years and house and garden are almost finished. But the job list is huge and the pay off is inspiring. It will make me well again. Pain would be less. Father unless hasn't helped... He hindered if anything. No one helped 👍💗

He died when I was 18 and I kept my promise to my mom...and am now dealing with the repercussions at 34yrs old... if you still have the chance, do it ❤

So on the nose here paul except my dad is the one that cuts off. For all of my life at the slightest thing. It’s been the hardest thing of my life to deal with. So now yes I have come to understand that it will always be so so I have stopped contact and told him how it made me feel. I can’t keep going back for more. I feel like we don’t cut people out for no good reason. Nothing will ever change and yet I have no peace either way

Interesting reading. I didn’t really resonate with the 2 of swords because I am someone that will forgive and give many chances over years and years until I’m just done. It’s not one thing and one chance. People will show you who they are, you just need to pay attention. Have I cut people out of my life - yes I have after years of forgiving and giving chances. There comes a point where enough is enough and it’s time to walk away. No malice, no major blow up… just we’re done now. People come into your life for a reason or a season or a lifetime. Not sure who the father figure is - both my actual father (who I barely knew) and my uncle who was a surrogate father growing up have passed away. I guess it could be my older brother but the thought of him trying to give me advice or that he would look up long enough from his own life to deign to notice my existence long enough to give me advice seems unlikely. Would be interesting and funny if it happens.

Wow 😮 I lost my dad in 2011 at 19 and now I’m 32 and there’s just so much I uncovered in the past 13 years. He was an alcoholic and had kidney failure. Idk if this wound will ever fully heal.
