Interesting to see that powerguard was already present in earth style a move that wasn't introduced in the main series until World. Also please correct me if I am understanding this wrong. But if you stand somewhere in the Arena and one of your team mates is about to get hit you can block the hit for them simply by going into team guard? Do you physically have to Block the hit by putting yourself into the line of fire or does it work from anywhere?
It works from almost anywhere in the room, I previously thought it only works in the visual circle around you. However there is a Hexagon indication on the map that covers the entire room, anyone within it will be protected by block. Although its not big enough to cover the entirety of some rooms, I have not been able to see if it still protects you outside of it in the same room.
I've only seen it work on other players. Id guess it would work on npcs, but it wouldn't really be a big deal unless you are trying to cheese meter build up since they don't really need protection.
Was thinking of some kind of meme build to basically make myself a stand user where my Partner basically Solos a monster while i just protect and Support him. I mean I did call my Partner star platinum and partners basically are stands so...
@@thejoyworks4253 That's intresting, because I'm playing Lance for maybe 3-4 weeks now in frontier and the area block only blocks in the visual circle for other players. Maybe this has something to do with private servers or it doesn´t work for certain monster attacks. (I'm not counting obvious zenith moves, which ignore def.) However this would not be the first glitch I found with lance. Few weeks ago the life powder buff for other players wasn't working. Sometimes it healed only 2/3 or even only me xD but this seems to be fixed now.
Man, Earth Style Lance feels real weird. I'm so used to having a counter available that it feels strange not having one. No guard advance as well until Storm Style. It just feels so naked compared to 3rd gen onward.
I have seen some of these changes, implemented in Rise & world. Hopefully in wilds they bring back more things like the Parry during the dash attack, the back hop thrust, and charge the finisher. And I love the chargeable sweep attack from rise so hopefully that’s in wilds too
can you do HBG guide for frontier? I wanted to know what's good for it, is it heaven style or storm style since both got charged shot. and if you don't mind, my channel also does more Monster Hunter nowadays especially with Frontier
@@thejoyworks4253 It is just your name color XD. Also, in the final notes you said that the area guard work for everyone in the room, but im playing with a friend and it only guards around the circle. I dont have Extreme style yet, maybe thats why?
They were strangely conservative with lance compared to other weapons it feels... Somehow it's got less going on than even monster hunter rise's lance with the wide sweep slaps and adept guard
Really? I guess compared to other Frontier weapons but extreme lance is definitely more varied than Rise lance. Right off the bat, it has more utility than rise lance and rewards blocking with the block meter buffs. Blocking in Rise isn't rewarded at all and certain moves/parries require guard points or 0 guard points to get the most out of them. It also has more thrusting options than rise lance. Finishing thrust, charged thrust, vertical thrust, and evading thrust. All of which are definitely more accurate than charged wide sweep from the rise lance which tend to hit a different part than the one you want
What? They got power guard years before it was a thing, an actual area of guard for your teammates, stacking buffs, it's kind of insane and was only matched in like World.
base lance sucks balls. it is so weak. extreme lance is where the power is at BUT if you solo the game you will give up way earlier than reaching it. for real, clunky and weak up until extreme style. bad bad game.
@@gabrielesquaratti5709 bruh it just sounds like you raged because you couldn't take the time to learn the game, with amount of chit the game gives you to breeze through low and high rank you could reach G in like... 2 or 3 days.
So hr 6-7 gets really painfully difficult there are some ways around it like using legendary rastas and halk pots but once you get through the game is definitely better.
Extreme Style Lance seems incredible. I'll definitely be maining both this and Gunlance whenever I get around to playing Frontier
The ability to block and reflect damage(with reflect skill or active feature) + getting infinite lifepowders to heal teammates is crazy good support
Hey look, everything i wanted for the lance in sunbreak was in frontier :,)
with the team block, and the buffs, and everything else, lance seems like a great team leader weapon tbh
also hehe funny guard +2 block go brrrrrr

Wow.. I like teamguard feels like Im playing tank in a mmo
Well Frontier IS a Monster Hunter MMO

I wish I didn't have to get all the way past HR6 for extreme style
Does the Charging Thrust block like it does in "future" games?
where can I find this music today?
When i use Area guard theres an area on the map, sometimes its a blue hue sometimes its red. What does that mean?
I have never noticed that, if I had to guess blue might mean u are in range with another player or npc so u can block for them.

Burying this stuff in Frontier is such a waste of potential
Might come back in Wilds, fingers crossed!
Well… Wild is bring back a lot of these moves
my question is: does the game get really hard after hr5? these moves are cool and pretty overpowered to be given early even when its not g rank yet
So hr 6-7 gets really painfully difficult there are some ways around it like using legendary rastas and halk pots but once you get through the game is definitely better.
What's the name of this ost ?
the only good thing about base lance is that while you block you inflict some fixed damage.
These might be the worst Heaven and Storm styles I have seen so far. Good to see how little attention Lance got even back then.
extreme style feels like it insults the weapons creators intentions..
I dont think ill be using it
Thats why its called extreme, it pushes the weapons to it limits, like how HH has debuffs to monsters, and bow has running stance.
Yes let's not use one of the most arguably fun combat styles in monster hunter 🤦♀️
