Sheikh Ahmed Deedat:
In 1986, the King Faisal Foundation awarded the King Faisal International Prize for SERVICE TO ISLAM, to a South African who is more or better known than many dignitaries in their own countries. This was the first time that this prestigious award has been awarded to a South African. The recipient of this award was a man totally dedicated to his faith and its propagation and who was not afraid to challenge any one to a debate to settle once and for all the matter, who has the good news right? He was none other than Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, reverently known and called UNCLE by those who hold him in high esteem and admiration.
The award came after a lifetime of struggle to propagate Islam and to defend Islam against the onslaught of the missionaries. Finally, he was given recognition by the international Muslim community that he deserved and focused more sharply the attention of the Muslim world on the most important aspect of his work, the challenge to propagate Islam. This was his life long ambition to focus the Muslim world's attention and resources on the propagation of Islam, and at last he succeeded. What a moment of jubilation, achievement and personal gratification for Sheikh Deedat the award was, a turning point in his life.
Sheikh Deedat did not have much formal schooling, but he was self-taught through experience and a penchant for reading, debating, discussion, and a profound sense of commitment to a mission and goal. He was driven and goal oriented. He was focused and never let up until the job was done. He was sharp, perceptive, forthright, fiery, and daring in his challenge of those whom he debated, particularly against those who equal his missionary zeal and sense of audacity. Formal schooling did not destroy his creative prowess, his tenacity, ambition, drive, and sheer daring to swim upstream.
Sheikh Deedat was more a scholar of the Bible than the Qur'an, and was more familiar and adroit with its teachings. He had an insight and perspective of the Bible which made many Christians he came into contact with rethink and re-examine their faith, particularly those aspects of the Bible and the Qur'an that deal with the divine mission and life of Prophet Jesus.
On May 3, 1996, Sheikh Ahmed Deedat suffered a stroke which left him paralyzed from the neck down, and also meant that he could no longer speak or swallow. He was flown to a hospital in Riyadh, where he was taught to communicate through a series of eye-movements. He spent the last nine years of his life in a bed in his home in Verulam, South Africa, encouraging people to engage in da'wah. He continued to receive hundreds of letters of support from around the world. During these years, rumors spread throughout the Internet that he was already dead, and even some websites that contained his pamphlets mentioned as early as 2002 that he was dead.
On August 8, 2005, Ahmed Deedat finally succumbed to his prolonged illness and died at his home in Trevennen Road, Verulam in the province of KwaZulu Natal.
May Allah grant you jannah Uncle Deedat. I was lucky to see you as a young boy when my dear Father brought me to your lecture at the Shah Alam Mosque, Selangor. Wish I had the opportunity to hug and thank you for your sacrifices and challenges you faced in your endless efforts to defend our belowed Nabi Isa alaihisalam.

Most logical person I've ever seen in my life, happened to watch his lectures after he passed away but the teachings which he defined under the light of Quran and hadith are best treasure any person could ever leave for anyone, may Almighty Allah grant him high rewards for the awesome work he did throughout his life and the best thing which I can think of with Allah's help became an inspiration of zakir naik the well known orator of Islam and comparative studies and insha allah I'm also willing to work in this field as full time daee and I hope insha Allah I'll get chance in my life to preach the teachings of Islam.

Muslims can read bible. As a matter of fact believing in The Injeel (Gospel of Jesus Christ, may peace and blessing be with him) is one of the tenet of Islam. Muslims have to believe in all the books God sent down to mankind.
True Muslims follow the explicit teaching of Jesus Christ (peace and blessing upon him). Just like we follow the explicit teaching of Noah, Abraham, Moses and Muhammad, peace and blessings to all of them. We follow their teaching but we do not worship any of them. Only Our Almighty Creator deserves to be worship. Muslims also believe that we don't have the right to judge others. That right belongs solely to Our Creator The Most Justice The Most Merciful.

Chadi Hallak ....in this lifetime, a person definitely had experienced losing or departing from someone or something that is very valuable, like departing from our friends,family,parents,etc.,. the pain of such experience is carved in our hearts until we come to our end..What i want to say is, losing sum1 because of death hurts much already, how about our soul departing from our own body. as much as we want to live forever,we cnt bec we are all destined to face death, the crying is just minimal reaction, bec there are a number of reasons 2 cry; facing life after death is something worth crying even if we are in the best health.

Bob Haughey Again you are speaking from emotion, and a lack of knowledge. I deal with the accusations you brought up everyday. So lets get down to the point.
I would like to start with the rasin head accusation. Thats a hadith.
Hadiths are commonly referred to the sayings attributed to Prophet Mohammed. Sunna refers to the traditions or religious practices attributed to the Prophet. There is no unanimity among the so-called "Muslim scholars" regarding the Hadiths and the Sunna. During Mohammad's time, the believers were strictly prohibited from writing anything from the Prophet except the Quran. This fact is clearly reflected in the verses of the Quran (4:87, 7:185, 31:6, 34:44, 45:6-7, 52:34, 77:50). After Mohammad's death, however, some from among his companions who sought self-exaltation through past association with the Prophet started telling stories about him, "I saw the Prophet did this and I heard the Prophet said that." Obviously everything that the Prophet did or said was not a part of the message he was to deliver. For the message was the Quran, the whole Quran, and nothing but the Quran, 6:19. Nonetheless, stories were told, some accurate and some not so very accurate. In the process of passing the narrations many lies were injected as well. The collections of all these narrations comprise the books of Hadiths. One of the most notorious producers of the Hadiths was Abu-Hurayra of Yemen. He converted to Islam in the seventh year after Hijra and only stayed in the company of the Prophet for two years. Yet, the man who was not even trusted by the close companions of the Prophet produced over five thousands Hadiths of his own.
An estimated one million six hundred thousand Hadiths were fabricated and recorded in vast volumes of narrations after the death of Prophet Mohammed. If we divide this volume of Hadiths to the total years of Mohammad's prophet-hood (23 lunar years), it will average close to 200 Hadiths per day! If this was the case, it would have left the prophet with no time to eat, sleep, deliver the Quran, and spend any time with his own family. The enemies of Islam knew that they could not destroy the Quran. Therefore, by the mean of their fabrications they tried to divert people from the book of GOD.
Historically, those in the position of power and the clerics have found justification for their oppressive imposition over the masses through the books of the Hadith and Sunna. Indeed, these innovated fabrications have been major contributors to the downfall of the Islamic civilization. Almighty GOD, the Knower of all secrets and declarations, knew that the accursed Satan would try to deceive people by the mean of the fabricated Hadiths. Therefore, the Most Gracious warned the believers ahead of time that they should only accept One True Hadith, the Glorious Quran [31:6]:
ومن الناس من يشتري لهو الحديث ليضل عن سبيل الله بغير علم
ويتخذها هزوا أولئك لهم عذاب مهين
31:6. Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution.
وإذا تتلى عليه ءايتنا ولى مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها كأن في أذنيه وقرا
فبشره بعذاب أليم
31:7. And when our revelations are recited to one of them, he turns away in arrogance as if he never heard them, as if his ears are deaf. Promise him a painful retribution.
أولم ينظروا في ملكوت السموت والأرض وما خلق الله من شيء
وأن عسى أن يكون قد اقترب أجلهم فبأي حديث بعده يؤمنون
7:185. Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all the things GOD has created? Does it ever occur to them that the end of their life may be near? Which Hadith, beside this, do they believe in?
الله نزل أحسن الحديث كتبا متشبها مثاني تقشعر منه جلود
الذين يخشون ربهم ثم تلين جلودهم وقلوبهم إلى ذكر الله
ذلك هدى الله يهدي به من يشاء ومن يضلل الله فما له من هاد
39:23. GOD has revealed herein the best Hadith; a book that is consistent, and points out both ways (to Heaven and Hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe there-from, then their skins and their hearts soften up for GOD's message. Such is GOD's guidance; He bestows it upon whoever wills (to be guided). As for those sent astray by GOD, nothing can guide them.
تلك ءايت الله نتلوها عليك بالحق
فبأي حديث بعد الله وءايته يؤمنون
45:6. These are GOD's revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than GOD and His revelations do they believe?
ويل لكل أفاك أثيم
45:7. Woe to every fabricator, guilty.

45:6-7 GOD condemns "Hadith" by name, and informs us that it is a blasphemous fabrication.
يسمع ءايت الله تتلى عليه
ثم يصر مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها فبشره بعذاب أليم
45:8. The one who hears GOD's revelations recited to him, then insists arrogantly on his way, as if he never heard them. Promise him a painful retribution.
فليأتوا بحديث مثله إن كانوا صدقين
52:34. Let them produce a Hadith like this, if they are truthful.
الله لا إله إلا هو ليجمعنكم إلى يوم القيمة لا ريب فيه
ومن أصدق من الله حديثا
4:87. GOD: there is no god except He. He will surely summon you on the Day of Resurrection - the inevitable day. Whose narration is more truthful than GOD's?
فبأي حديث بعده يؤمنون
77:50. Which Hadith, other than this, do they uphold?
These are GOD's clear revelations; those sincere at heart should be able to understand and appreciate them. And, GOD willing, they should be able to drop all the nonsense about the books of the Hadith and the Sunna and go back to the Quran.
أفغير الله أبتغي حكما وهو الذي أنزل إليكم الكتب مفصلا
والذين ءاتينهم الكتب يعلمون أنه منزل من ربك بالحق
فلا تكونن من الممترين
6:114. Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt.
وتمت كلمت ربك صدقا وعدلا لا مبدل لكلمته
وهو السميع العليم
6:115. The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.
واتل ما أوحي إليك من كتاب ربك لا مبدل لكلمته
ولن تجد من دونه ملتحدا
18:27. You shall recite what is revealed to you of your Lord's scripture. Nothing shall abrogate His words, and you shall not find any other source beside it.
