The idea of harming yourself would have already been planted in your head from some other event in your life. This video may have "pushed" you towards the idea but the idea was likely already there ... and if this video wasn't the catalyst, some other video, or song, or event, or comment would have been. I've 'been there, done that' and tried to lay blame everywhere I could. But at the end of the day, the decisions were mine.

Music speaks to me in a way that nothing and no one else ever has. This song is the second song by Pink that saved my life. My childhood and my teen life was very dark and I didn't think that I would live through it. I heard this song come on the radio one night after I had had multiple PTSD panic attacks from flashbacks due to years and years of physical and emotional abuse as a child and teenager. I woke up screaming from another nightmare and fighting the girl I was laying next to. She freaked out and left because I scared her so badly. I was a mess mentally and emotionally and that was the last straw. I was at the end of my rope and I hated who I had become. I was a full blown alcoholic and IV drug user. I couldn't see a way out and the pain was too much to bear. I was totally alone back then. I got up and went and bought the drugs I would need to end my life. I came back home and prepared a syringe. I went and grabbed my elastic band. I had made up my mind that I was done. I had just come out as a lesbian and my entire family disowned me and turned their backs on me. I saw no other way out. I tied the elastic around my arm and drew up the dope. I was tapping the air out of the syringe when this song came on. It broke me and I laid the syringe back down. Pink had once again, saved my life. Her raw and real emotions really come through in her music and I think that's what makes it so impactful! Thank you, Pink!
My mom and I loved this song, it was one of her favorites. She had a rough life, start to finish so this so just resonated a bit deeper. Last October I lost my mom to suicide as a result of having countless medical problems with no underlying issues. She had neck muscle removed, 3 ribs removed and numerous other "exploratory" surgeries. Now, my mom saved me from an attempt when I was about 16. Literally fire department came and had to bust the bathroom door down to get to me. She was the only reason I didn't try again. The day she took her life, she messaged me simply saying "I love you". I was at work and didn't respond until a few hours later. When I got off work, get home and get the call that she had passed I opened up messenger and she had never even seen my message. It fucking kills me to know I didn't tell my mom I love you for the last time because I was busy at work. I just want to follow her😭 Sitting here, listening to this song since the first time she passed....not doing so well...and my 4 year old noticed. She said "mommy you're sad". I choked back the tears and said "no baby, they're just happy tears". She said "no mommy, you're sad. You're sad you miss Grammy" then proceeded to pretend she knew the words to the song and "sang" the rest of the song to me😭❤️❤️

I have a wife who loves me for me, I am perfect to her with 2 beautiful children together. Looking back I realize I was perfect the whole time I just couldn't see the whole picture. Cut to now - I’ve traveled the world modeling, I make photography and art as well, eat whatever I want and have no guilt, and am in a loving relationship with an actual gentleman who puts me first and always has my back 😊 From the depths of our darkness we can still find the light! ❤

I’m a 72 year old male and this song spoke to me when it was first out and this version hits home today. I wish it had been around when I was growing up and feeling just like the young lady in the video. Everyday when I force myself out of bed I stand and look/read many of the things on my wall from my past. The good things and the bad are represented on my wall. My scars are all internal so nobody knows about them because my smiling face is my shield from the world. PTSD never really goes away because the really deep scars are all mental and are present 24/7. Thank you Pink for putting this out here for those of us that don’t have someone to say this to us. At 4 am when the war (my messed up childhood and then the war) comes roaring back to the forefront of my mind, this song (with headphones on) most of the time brings me back from the edge of the cliff. I remember watching this music video on a tv channel that played music videos. I was like 9 and my brothers would watch music videos on the tv on a Sunday morning. I remember this music video and it stuck with me but I had no idea who the singer was or the song name. Now I just randomly found it. The idea of harming yourself would have already been planted in your head from some other event in your life. This video may have "pushed" you towards the idea but the idea was likely already there ... and if this video wasn't the catalyst, some other video, or song, or event, or comment would have been.

The first time I heard this song was when I was a little toddler. It inspired me throughout my life, through all my struggles, and it still does today. Now I’m 13, in therapy, and I have my mother to support me. It also helped my mother through her divorce and loneliness

Music speaks to me in a way that nothing and no one else ever has. This song is the second song by Pink that saved my life. My childhood and my teen life was very dark and I didn't think that I would live through it. I heard this song come on the radio one night after I had had multiple PTSD panic attacks from flashbacks due to years and years of physical and emotional abuse as a child and teenager. I woke up screaming from another nightmare and fighting the girl I was laying next to. She freaked out and left because I scared her so badly. I was a mess mentally and emotionally and that was the last straw. I was at the end of my rope and I hated who I had become. I was a full blown alcoholic and IV drug user. I couldn't see a way out and the pain was too much to bear. I was totally alone back then. I got up and went and bought the drugs I would need to end my life. I came back home and prepared a syringe. I went and grabbed my elastic band. I had made up my mind that I was done. I had just come out as a lesbian and my entire family disowned me and turned their backs on me. I saw no other way out. I tied the elastic around my arm and drew up the dope. I was tapping the air out of the syringe when this song came on. It broke me and I laid the syringe back down. Pink had once again, saved my life. Her raw and real emotions really come through in her music and I think that's what makes it so impactful! Thank you, Pink!

My mom and I loved this song, it was one of her favorites. She had a rough life, start to finish so this so just resonated a bit deeper.
Last October I lost my mom to suicide as a result of having countless medical problems with no underlying issues. She had neck muscle removed, 3 ribs removed and numerous other "exploratory" surgeries.
Now, my mom saved me from an attempt when I was about 16. Literally fire department came and had to bust the bathroom door down to get to me. She was the only reason I didn't try again.
The day she took her life, she messaged me simply saying "I love you". I was at work and didn't respond until a few hours later. When I got off work, get home and get the call that she had passed I opened up messenger and she had never even seen my message. It fucking kills me to know I didn't tell my mom I love you for the last time because I was busy at work. I just want to follow her😭
Sitting here, listening to this song since the first time she passed....not doing so well...and my 4 year old noticed. She said "mommy you're sad". I choked back the tears and said "no baby, they're just happy tears". She said "no mommy, you're sad. You're sad you miss Grammy" then proceeded to pretend she knew the words to the song and "sang" the rest of the song to me😭❤️❤️

This video made me, a grown man, burst into tears. I went through the majority of my life never feeling whole. Suicidal, self-harm, "broken". I'm happy to say I haven't cut in 9 years. I have a wife who loves me for me, I am perfect to her with 2 beautiful children together. Looking back I realize I was perfect the whole time I just couldn't see the whole picture. If only I could help other young ones see this truth.

I’m a 72 year old male and this song spoke to me when it was first out and this version hits home today. I wish it had been around when I was growing up and feeling just like the young lady in the video. Everyday when I force myself out of bed I stand and look/read many of the things on my wall from my past. The good things and the bad are represented on my wall. My scars are all internal so nobody knows about them because my smiling face is my shield from the world. PTSD never really goes away because the really deep scars are all mental and are present 24/7. Thank you Pink for putting this out here for those of us that don’t have someone to say this to us. At 4 am when the war (my messed up childhood and then the war) comes roaring back to the forefront of my mind, this song (with headphones on) most of the time brings me back from the edge of the cliff. Little boys and old men feel this stuff too and I wish there was a video for them/us too.

I remember watching this music video on a tv channel that played music videos. I was like 9 and my brothers would watch music videos on the tv on a Sunday morning. I remember this music video and it stuck with me but I had no idea who the singer was or the song name. Now I just randomly found it.
Edit: now I realize why it stuck with me because of the bathtub scene and the homemade tattoo.

Sound 2 or so years I'm cut free atm 5 months taht I counted with only a few teeny relapses only one beinga. Cut and a small one it gets better I am fighting relapse as I'm. Moving a way from my first true friends and it'll be hard yes BUT I can do it cause I've lived through worse I lived through Mia degrading manipulated I lived trough 6th grade where. Was the sole target of a hundred or so kids cause I want pretty I was flat I was odd and I was judged for how I was and a kid and I'm still on

In middle school my dad would wake me up by banging on the wall at 6:30am(if i didn't wake up to my alarm) I would go downstairs and turn on the tv to see if any new metal or rap songs had dropped and this song popped up so much. Everyday this song was on every morning and i would eat poptarts/cereal and watch this shit till the school bus was about to pull up an I would rush my assssss to get to the bus before it left. I was a blacksheep and still am. I used to cut myself and no one understood, Im about to be 27 and switched from cutting to getting tattoos.. Its like self harm but you get a beautiful memory instead of the self hate memories... Thank you. You brought me hope, Pink. I could never thank you enough.❤❤❤
