    Thank you for such good info! Do they run out of parking? I wont be arriving until late.

      You’re welcome! They did not run out of spaces for our cruise. The parking lot is pretty large. Hope that helps! 🙂

    What about nearby hotels? Is the port close to Charleston attractions? We are thinking of staying Sunday night but don’t want to stay really far out.

      The port is in the historic downtown area close to the museums and parks, but not convenient to the beach. There are a few hotels downtown within a couple of miles to the port. We stayed at the Hampton Inn (a little over a mile away) and it was very nice. I think there’s also a Best Western, Embassy Suites and a Courtyard. I usually check cruiseportadvisor.com for hotels close to the port. Hope that helps!

    Hi Jenny! Thank you for all the info! If we are parking elsewhere and ubering to the port, where would we go to drop off our luggage?

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alexander! I believe taxis/Uber/Lyft have a separate entrance to the port with their own luggage drop off that you’ll be directed to. Hope that helps!

    Is there rental drop off near there

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe there is an Avis an a Budget rental place less than a mile from the port on Meeting Street, but not 100% sure.

    Jenny, what is the best way to book a cruise from Charleston since I live here?

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest booking directly from the Carnival website.

      @WheretoNowJenny  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. Carnival is the only one.

    Thank you for sharing the information, especially about dembarkation process where the deck calling is on TV screen, not on intercom.

    How far is the walk from the parking lot to building 324? We will be traveling with children.

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how early you park. They start filling the parking lot from the furthest point from building 324, so the later you get there, the closer you will be to the building. We got there pretty early and had to walk the max distance which I think probably wasn’t more than a quarter of a mile.

    Somewhere we heard handicapped tagged vehicles are not charged parking

      @@WheretoNowJenny Our party of 4-who hope to sail in Sept.2021 noted that each passenger may bring one 12-pack of soda on board with them and if you are 21 yrs old or older ,one 750ml bottle of wine . Is that per couple or per person ?

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Per person

      What is the handicapped access like? Are there stewards that can take you in a wheelchair once you park?

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wheelchair service is available once you enter the terminal after parking and there are handicapped accessible shuttles available, but I am not sure about assistance from the parking lot to the check in building. Sorry! Wish I could help more!

    Hey Jenny! What an amazing video! You gave such great information about the Charleston cruise. I have a question. Does the Charleston port parking require a reservation online, or do you just drive in, pay, then park?

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Michelle! I don’t believe that you can make reservations. We just drove in, paid and parked. Hope that helps!

    Going on the sunshine in April. Do you know if or where you would get dropped off at the terminal

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When we went, we walked to the building for check in. Then after checking in, the shuttle dropped us off right in front of the terminal door.

    Is a passport needed to cruise to Bahama?

    • @WheretoNowJenny
      @WheretoNowJenny  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are a US citizen, you can take a “closed-loop cruise” (one that begins and ends at the same port) to The Bahamas without a passport. Instead, you’ll need to present another proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID. Hope that helps!

    Great information. Sort of killed any desire I had to cruise, so you saved me a lot of grief.
