  • Victoria Eugenia Henao, Pablo Escobar's widow, has spoken out about her life with the world's most notorious drug lord in this two-part documentary.
Who was the woman behind Pablo Escobar? What did she think of her husband’s way of life? She was his wife and lover…. but was she also his business partner? Tata features revelations from the most important character in Pablo Escobar’s life, to complete the history of the world’s most famous drug-tracker. Silent for more than 20 years, tired of so many false and sensationalist stories, Maria Isabel (Tata) breaks her silence and tells the truth about her life with Pablo Escobar. Using never before seen material from the very beginning of their relationship, as well as photos and handwritten letters found after an exhaustive search, this is the most intimate portrait of theirl life together.
    From Tata: Escobar's Widow E2

@@elrafamoh She had Stockholm syndrome and was groomed. That isn't true happiness. Now that he's gone she realizes this. Many victims of abuse think they're happy with their abusers and although Pablo did not physically abuse her, he did force an abortion on her which is abusive and he put her life at risk many times and would gaslight her which is also abuse. She did love him, always will. It doesn't make her any less of a victim. There was a girl who was kidnapped, had children with her abuser, and she tried to protect him when she was discovered. She "loved" him. It doesn't make her any less of a victim. Any girl who was groomed at 14 by a grown man is a victim.

His family members mentioned that pablo was not running at last he was just keeping him away from us because he knew his death will call him anytime so that is why he was continuously talking to his son and wife when he was on run knowing that this will call conversations will be suicidal for him. And minutes later he died.

What a story. Story of love, pain, torture. So much suffering in every angle. She was a courageous mother who protected her children. It’s amazing she’s speaking up and telling her story. She was so young when she married him. You can see all the suffering in her eyes and hear her pain in her voice. This is one of the craziest story in history. The end of the interview was so beautiful.

She did not commit or ordered the murders but on the other hand she obviously knew about Escobar's business and that her luxurious life was coming from murdered fathers mothers children and by many orphans. So, for me the truth is somewhere in between. She is not guilty of the crimes of Escobar but moraly she is not innocent either. Would she have regreted if her life would not have been hard to her? I dont think so, as she did not seem to regret up to the point that the downfall started. It is easy to talk about ethics and morality when you are on the loosers side. The difficult is to act with morality when you are on the winners side. Very nice documentary though!

I do believe that is why she was asking for forgiveness. Hindsight is 20/20 as the saying goes. Ignorance is bliss is another. I do agree with you, but does a person not deserve at least to apologize? Not necessarily that she deserves forgiveness by this logic, but at the very least she is recognizing what happened and what the stakes were and how far those waves reached. That, I believe is called atonement, or at least repenting.
Now if we want to continue pointing fingers, point them also at the consumers of yesterday and today. Drug cartels have not gone away. And it’s all thanks to the consumers. That’s my perspective anyway. I’m not justifying the drug dealers at all. Or their families for staying under whatever circumstances. I don’t agree with it at all. But acknowledge that she had all this time to reflect and to learn, and with that came all the wake up calls. And she owned up to it.

She had a hard life with her husband but she rose above that, overcame the hardships and became the strong, amazing woman that she is now. That is not to say what her husband did was right. The reason they changed the name is because they needed to seek asylum from different countries. Did you even watch the entire documentary? Tata stated she had to change her name just to get a Visa to get into another country. Back then if she continued to stay at Columbia, her whole family would be at risk everyday. And also, no country would want the Escobar family there if they still carried the Escobar name. Not only this documentary, but there are a lot of other videos that stated they had to change their name just to save their own life. Having Escobar as your surname would have a bounty on your head back then.
Yeah Pablo was a monster, but don't speculate things that you don't know. How do you even know they don't want to have anything to do with him? Did they tell you that themselves? To be honest, I felt like no matter how bad he was, he's kids still love him. And I'm only speculating. The difference between us is, I agree whatever I said is not entirely true because I'm not them, while you simply mention her daughter doesn't want to have anything to do with her Dad as though you and her are besties.
What always gets me is, stupid jabronis like you.

And that lavish life, she did that. She started over and she did that. All by herself. Without him. She picked herself up by the bootstraps, dusted herself up, started a brand new life, and time only showed her the true reality of her late husband. At least that’s what I gathered from the video. If you believe so much in your God Almighty, ease up on the judgment. It’s not your place to decide what God’s judgment will be. On the contrary, pray for her and that one day she can find peace and forgiveness after carrying his cross, willingly or not, and for repenting for her sins.

It’s hard to flee because in that position you don’t know who to trust in order for them to help you. If a woman betrayers a man like that they will get hunted and murder.
