I’ve been watching your videos for quite a few years now, and I really enjoyed all that I’ve seen so far! I have a 1/350 scale Titanic that has been in my collection for over ten years now . I watched one of your videos on building it, and it was an inspiration to me. I’m mostly a car model builder myself, but wanted to get into ships. I’ve done a bunch of WWII bombers, in 1/48 scale . I’ve got around a hundred more kits in my collection, along with almost 170 car kits. That Titanic kit has been calling me, and it’s about time that I take the plunge! I have to research where to get some photo etch stuff, cause the kit looks like a toy. It would be my first ship, and I want to build some more battleships. Your videos give me more ambition to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing your work. It’s really inspiring ! The Gaahlery airbrush is something that I really want to try. I have a couple of airbrushes that I use, but definitely want to try theirs. They look like a great value for all the features they offer.

Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts with me on this comment. I wish you luck on your upcoming build And above all stay safe and have Fun! 🫡🇵🇹
I have to agree with you, Alex....those machine guns are so much better with the addition of the pins. This is a great build and you must be chuffed with result, the PE is working a treat and definitely enhancing the model. From one hand trembler to another it's important to keep going as long as possible. Keep enjoying doing what you do as we take pleasure in watching :)
Ola Alex, the Graf Spee is coming along just fine as expected with you building it. You don't like your eyes and I'll match that and raise you my hands! The photo etch handling together with your own inventive additions is brilliant. Great stuff sir. PS the Fw190 D-9 is back on course and I feel in charge again. Next part please.
Masterful build Alex. You really nailed that photo-etch! It's encouraging me to move my own Aoshima1/350 Ironclad Myōkō up my build order! Lovely looking compressor too. I don't airbrush because of health problems so, for me, loads of very light brush coats, in the old school way of modelling.
She's shaping up really good. I used a photoetch set for the SS Hawaiian Pilot. Doors, portholes, ladders and stairs, improved it a lot as the tooling goes back to the 50's. It also has railings included. Lots of railings because she was a cargo/passenger ship. One day I'll finish her. Anyway you're doing an excellent job
Coming along nicely Alex… you are adding more PE to yours than I did on my Graf Spee, but mine was the more detailed Trumpeter kit. The Academy hull shape is more accurate, but the Trumpeter kit parts above that have lots more fine detail than the Academy kit. Like the torpedo launchers, which have all that extra surface detail you needed to scratch. A top tip btw.. get a small block of dressed wood, pine is fine. Cut your PE on this to avoid the bending and distortion you get on your cutting mat, plus being firmer, gives you more control with your cuts, yet the soft wood won’t dull the blade.
Hey Harry! 👋 Nice to see you here on Alex's channel. 😸 Ooh, I got that Blue Stuff you told me about too, thanks for that tip Harry. For Alex, I am using that to cast missing parts on my present 68-year-old Revel HMS Bounty build, and Harry put me on to it, great stuff. 🙂
@@Lambonights from memory it might have been Alex whom I stole the Blue Stuff trick from… we have been friends for many years and even did a live chat show together during the apocalypse
Very nice work , for the torpedo launcher it is an improvement i like it.I am 66 years and i have also some difficutees with photo edge but i enjoy it.
Nice clean build. Don't know how you dealt with that PE but it looks great. New to find out where to get those sanding squares. Very versatile .Keep up the good work
Great work on the model. Photo etch parts while adding much better detail can be a bother to work with. So small, so delicate. In addition to magnification glasses I recently purchased a digital microscope. Wow, what a difference. Proving to be a game changer for small part assembly. Now I only need to find a way to keep my fingers and hands steady. ( scotch works, but after 2 glasses I fall asleep ). I may just buy that kit for a Christmas present to myself. Love to watch the progress. Cheers.
I will be curious to see how you do the railings. I am currently ( very slowly ) building 1/350 scale USS ARIZONA. I've got 3 different PE kits for it, but all of them have in my opinion crappy, low quality railings. It will be interesting to see how you build your kit and what the railings will look like. Cheers.
Max with Max's Models built the Arizona with PE earlier in 2024. You can find it on his channel. He does not show his build with as much detail as Alex, but it can make a good reference.

Looks amazing….frustrating I bet, my eyes would not do well nor my fingers with the finicky parts! Thanks, Andrew

Hi Alex, your torpedo tubes will look great, after paint. I think.
Yeah... Thats exactly my level of confidence... Exactly! 😂🫡🇵🇹 Stay safe and thank you!
Great work once again, word of caution when using your Dremel Tool use a low RPM so as to avoid the plastic from melting.
Exactly what i said on the last episode of this build. I agree

The last i bought, i bought it from Ebay! I will send you a link if i find it Mark!
