Have to appreciate games that removed fall damage to improve the fun and mobility factor. It fits in "realistic" shooters, but I'm really-really glad that Apex doesn't have it.
I mean don't call it unrealistic, they have jump kits to break their fall, which shown in Titanfall 2's "Your jump-kit can take that fall", is very effective.

@@foxenbox No they did not. They didn't do anything for their first, and the second was a buffed Golden Mozambique. Third was buffed Golden Mozambiques and P2020s.
Honestly i think the lack of fall damage in apex is a good reason why it succeeded at launch, and why its still going because it allows the devs to make fun movement abilities that wouldn't exactly be a thing with fall damage
The fact that the game was supposed to have fall damage and that the no fall damage was just a mistake is very terrifying luckily the people loved no fall damage so much that respawn decided to keep it damn imagine if it didnt have fall damage
As long as they did it right it wouldn't be too bad, it'd add to the movement of the game by making people check where they're jumping, making sure there's a ledge to grab on to cancel the damage or a downwards slope to negate some of it etc
I think this could make for a really fun event mode but things like jump pad and grapple negate fall damage same for valk after jetpack and horizon takes less from falling and none after her tactical plus any other future legends with abilities like that
Pathfinder dying after grappling makes me realize that having a 3DM/ODM gear would suck at real life and most of the "simple" moves you see on AoT would actually get you killed, because rappelling straight to a wall without slowing down are still subject to physics the anime/manga willingly ignore for the sake of "immersion".
Unless the rig they use spreads the pressure on their body over a torso wide area every thing they do would basically fold them like an omelette and even if it is spred out some of the things they do are very harsh decelerations and accelerations so they'd probably give themselves internal damage and concussions. That's ignoring now they're able to go from high speed movements to running on roofs and the ground. It'd basically be a game of the floor is lava but instead of lava, contact with the floor would just snap their legs and drag their torsos across sharp and jagged ground. But it's the same with most anime. Almost everything they do in anime ignores biological repercussions lmao
If done correctly I actually think this would be a pretty cool thing if nothing else than just as part of a ltm for a while. It could be a fun and interesting turn of events.
