    He's defensive even before anybody said anything about different types of gambling, slots, sports betting. Why is he defensive, cause deep down he thinks what he's doing is wrong and he's addicted.

      He has a bias, for sure due to his conflict of interest making the money he is. He has to do this, to resolve cognitive dissonance that compels some form of action. Q is a smart guy, but he’s not yet good at self analysis. Both with identifying harm from associating with narcissists, aswell as deciding to enable his addictions. I think anyone in his circumstance would do what he did with the money he was offered

    He gets so defensive when people criticize gambling and how its being normalized… it’s like gambling is apart of who he is now, so when someone comes along and criticizes it, he acts like it’s an attack on him… it’s actually bizarre.

      He is a sellout. 2020-21 was his last good humble years. He uses comedy to blur the fact he's a piece of crap peddling gambling to kids. I'm in my 20's and have never been addicted to gambling. For me just losing 20 dollars felt bad but I could imagine as a 15 year old kid watching xqc go from tik toks to all of a sudden gambling how that would entice children. He doesn't care but acts like he's innocent. he knows he isn't, just constantly making jokes to deflect the situation. Him and drake linking up shows that he sold out. Ages ago actually. The way he presents himself on stream now too, looking all feminine and g6y to audience. pre 2020 felix actually looked like a normal dude. Not whatever this zesty shitfest is now

    • @athreadpool
      @athreadpool หลายเดือนก่อน +40

      Precisely. Cognitive dissonance will compel you to resolve it. Either by rationalizing your decision, or by changing your behaviour to not do the action in the first place. X does the former by narrowing his friend group to friends who unquestioningly support the behaviour. This is probably done unconsciously, by subtle negative feelings of judgement around friends who don’t support it culminating in distancing himself from those who he feels he cannot budge.
      I am not judging x. Obviously I never had the opportunity to that amount of money, so I can say what i like but ethically I’ve not been tempted. I wish him the best and maybe he will realize that better hobbies and friends are in his life are still within reach.

    • @lucaswheeler4400

      Not really. Gambling as a concept is part of many people lives. The vast majority of people have had, and will continue to make life choices that are “gambles”, to improve their lives. That’s not a bad thing. And gambling money is fine as long as you pace it and only gamble with disposable income. Unlike other major addictions in the US, it doesn’t inherently harm the body, and the only damage that is inflicted is if you gamble with non-disposable income, which is just a matter of education and awareness, not the existence of gambling itself. On top of that, the way that most people gamble actually do the gambling, is between them and their friends/family. Poker nights and the like, which is incredibly sustainable, as it’s just rotating money between each other at regular intervals (usually monthly or annually). Gambling is not inherently bad or inherently dumb if you view it with a lens more vibrant than black and white, good and evil,,“This is always good and this is always bad,” then you avoid making blanket statements and assumptions, that are, ironically, one of the dumbest things you can do.
      Edit: grammatical fixes

      @ INHERENT. As in smoking damages your lungs, and alcohol is literally poison. Theoretically someone could gamble infinitely, and if they always won, there would be no damages. The non-inherent damage is non-inherent because it wouldn’t exist if people didn’t 1: gamble money that wasn’t disposable. And 2: subsequently lossing said non-disposable income. Those problems are a matter of education and awareness. As in, if gambling was discussed (i.e. not gambling money you don’t have, or not at all if you’re an addict, etc) in the same vein as for instance, not drinking and driving, those damages could largely be avoided.
