Yes, it's STINE nor STEEN. Black Hole Sun was released in 1994 by Sound Garden. Eli (with an assist from Layne) provided the arrangement. He also created the graphics in the background and built (with help from his wife and sister-in-law) the wall behind the group, and assembled/found the other set pieces. He directed the video as well. This was shot at Vu Studio Orlando, the same place as Valhalla Calling, but this time they had working air conditioning. The costumes for this video were the ones that Geoff originally ordered for Sleeping in the Cold Below. They arrived too late for that video shoot, so Geoff offered them to be used for this one. Makeup was by their go-to team of Rick Underwood and Renette Feren, with the cybernetic prosthetics coming from several studios. That first chesty note (C#1) Geoff, as were the two later ones (E1 and D#1). Layne did the ones in the latter grouping as an inhaled bass notes. Geoff sang the guitar sounds for this video. Eli hit an E♭5 on "won't you come, won't you come."
As always amazing information! Thank you so much!
I"m so excited to see you review this!! You're gonna love it. I've really enjoyed watching you get sucked into the Voiceplay rabbit hole.
One more thing.....maybe not stop quite so frequently? 4-5 times during a video is okay, but people might be put off by repeated mid-phrase pausing. Some people keep notes and comment after the video. Not telling you what to do....just a suggestion.
I'm glad you've enjoyed my journey into this! I'll try to be mindful of the pauses in future videos.
Hey! Im the first comment. That never happens😅
The guest's name is pronounced Garjoola.😊
Those moments when you can hear them take a breath are some of my favorite. 😊
That riff from Eli is spectacular and the follow up with that bass drop from Geoff is just the awesomest!😅
Woohoo First comment pin!
Anthony Garguila.... Gar jew la.
His and Eli's parents are long time friends. So Eli got to watch him grow up. Eli was 16 when Anthony was born.
Oh wow okay that’s so cool! Thanks for watching !
It’s make up. That’s their usual make up guy; his name is Rick. They call on him for any high end, difficult stuff. He did Thriller, Party of Your Lifetime, Classical Chaos, Geoff’s solo Ghost Riders, and like 50 others.
As a rule of thumb, if it’s more than eyeliner, it’s Rick’s work.
Got it. I’ll remember his name. Thanks for the information!
@ No need to remember- he’s listed in the credits. 🙂
Stein with a long I sound - you have that correct.
And to answer something you questioned earlier, they do sometimes add distortion effects to the voices.
@Gael4ce ohhh okay. I thought as much but didn’t know.
