I've picked the 2-8-10 up using a different technique. Shoot it with your strike ball like it's only the 2-8. Rather than moving the usual 3 boards right, move only 1-1.5 boards, keep your target the same. The ball will hit thin, taking out the 2 and 8 pin. 2 pin will bounce off the left side plate and into the 10.
That's the only way I have made that spare, but to be honest I have only made it a couple of times.

The only time I made the Big ' 4 ' I'm right handed, I hit the 4 pina d almost chopped it off causing the 7 pin to go to the left and go high then hit the balland slam into the 6-10 right in the middle. What a shot it was. Go a patch for it in league play , about 4 lanes on both sides saw it and went off like Wild. Loved it !!

Ok, the split I want to see converted is the 4-7-9-10. I have picked this up twice in league by cutting the 4 into the 9 which then takes out the 10 and the ball gets the 7.

My home lanes give me a bunch more action, back and sides. I can add speed and get lucky a bit more often.

I have some hard/impossible/ crazy splits that you can do in your next video: 2-8-6-10, 5-7-10 but try a 6 pound ball for that because I think you will have the best chance to make it quicker, 4-5-7-10.

While I have picked up a 7-10, I also once picked the 7-10 only out of a full rack in college when practicing 10-pins. So that was fun. That's a challenge I'd like to see. Get the 7-10 only out of a full rack!

Great video and great spare conversions. I left the 2-9 twice this morning. First time in a while I left that, missed it both times. Was struggling to find the right line today. But I did pick up the 4-7-10 which felt pretty awesome.
The only three I ever converted that you did on this video was the 2-10, the baby split, and the 4-9. The closest that I get to Greek Church when I almost got the 7th pin down but it just rocked but never went down.

I split 12 times in 3 games, and only picked up 4 of them. The notable makes were a 3-7, 4-7-9, and a 5-7.
It was the tightest lane I have ever played. Every single person struggled on it, left or right handed.

Reactive balls help me out alot for some splits. Where you can hook at them or just get less deflection overall
I'd pay a premium to be able to bowl on a lane that spots pins like this. Great practice.
Find a center that has Brunswick Sync scoring units and MyShot then you’re golden.
And a center with GSX pinsetters.

To pick up the 2-8-10 I’d use a reactive ball with a backup. I’ve picked this up several times, even in league.
Perhaps some day you might do a video of how to throw a "backup" ball? .. I have tied a few times, but I just about break my fingers doing it. Apparently I am not doing it correctly (big surprise huh? .. LOL). I wouldn't mind learning how to do that properly.

I think it’s easier to do a back up ball 2 handed but that’s just me…
@@MCLife30015 - I think you are correct. My 2-handed friends throw back up balls a lot and seems they do it pretty easily. For myself, I prefer to throw 1-handed, the traditional way 🙂

Awesome video! I’ve never made the greek church, big four, or the 2-8-10. I think the craziest split I’ve made was either the 4-6, 3-4-10, or the 8-10. I wanna have a practice session where I just go for split pickups lol

Could we get a comparison/difference video on the Brunswick rhino solid magenta and the Brunswick rhino pearl, would leave to see the difference in the lower/entry level balls and if there is even a difference in the 2 at that performance level

B.Nick. Q- what do you use for a spare shooting ball ? Ive been flattening my hand and keeping my wrist flat also, but sometimes it doesn’t work. So I thought of the purple hammer urethane ball, Q is again should I go with one of my layouts as 60x4.5x30 ? Or should I pin at 5-1/2 between bridge and hide CG, in my palm. Basically straight down from pin.

I use my Purple Hammer but I’m pretty good at flattening the hand and increasing speed so it doesn’t hook much on me. Practicing those two things will make the layout irrelevant.
You should be using the magic Brunswick "Dial A Spare Disc" (or whatever it is actually called) .. BTW, I got mine a few days ago. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet but going for New Year's Eve bowling tomorrow night and I will pull it out for my bowling buddy and I to attempt to use it to dial how to pick up our spares. Should be fun! .. I am glad you reviewed that little gadget, anxious to try it out! .. I picked up the 4-7-10 twice the other night. I have been able to do it about 6 or 7 times this year.

For me the 4-7-10 i used my geico viz-a-ball at 500 for my league it's a strike ball so i threw it as fast as i could on the monitor said 24.5mph and i hear the ball is 2 mph fast when it is at point of release
I left a 3-4 split as a righty, I had to take 3 looks at it to believe it.
I left a 2-8-10 the other day. I had no clue how to pick that up.
Neither did I. Took me forever
@brunsnick i decided to come from.the left like you ended up doing. Ball went too high, just took out the 2 and the 8.
Hi my name is Ezechial brown and I want to know how hard it’s to pick up those splits the only thing is hard is the 7-10split but Also I have picked up the 4-10 split it was about way back in 2004 at the Bowl Aurora bowling alley in Aurora Colorado colFaxs and Peoria and let tell you something you might think it’s easy but it’s not hard but practice at the splits is tough but it’s takes guts to do it and I can give you some tips and tricks that can make it more difficult but fun now you have to be little bit careful on how to shoot the splits and you don’t have enough room to hook at it so you really really need to be careful because if you throw the ball wide of the splits you can miss both of those pins kind make some moves to the 6 Boards to the left of your target
And aiming at the 6-10 then slide it over into the 7 pin and that’s how you pick up the splits
Why not hook the ball at the 2-10??
Note to self: dont leave 2/8/10 or buy alot of Icy Hot

I was thinking of the Packy video where they had the 7-10 shoot out on strings. Curious to see if you get better results on them.
u need to make your spares in general u aint making them cause your thowing the ball straight. Want me to show you how to make everything i do teach lessons im the best spare shooter ever. there aint a spare i havent not made.

Repeat this same challenge on the pair next to you with the A2's. You would probably get some better bounces off those shaker boards.
