    Just a side note as you say you don’t like the helping hands. To fix the issue you were having with it bending / moving in the hands I use rubber bands on the joint. It stiffens it up protects the hardware and makes easier to keep straight. Just my input. As always awesome job and I will be adding the British green to my candy collection

    You can take a small thin rubber band and keep doubling it over in the in between sections. Makes it a lot easier to paint on. Great looking bait by the way!

    Beautiful looking lure! Well done. I was watching a video of Chris's and he mentioned instead of using 4011/4012(for us further north) and uvls to get a glossier shine use uvls and 5618 airbrush cleaner and it works,it works very well

    This would be a good bait, to show us how to apply a dark wash on scales

    Enjoy your work and I find it interesting as to how other bait painters create their work. When you mentioned you striper fish, I thought your name seemed familiar. I fished striper tournaments all around the southeast and there was a guy with the last name of Patton. Not it was you

    Simple and effective, and looks really good, no doubt it will slay stripper, Clark’s Hill Strippers are in trouble!
    For me, the segmented baits are harder to epoxy, more then 2 segments are really hard, for me!

    what do you spray the tail with to lock the paint in, I'm using KBS on the rest?

    • @customlurepainter
      @customlurepainter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tail is just like paint brush hair, it doesn’t have any paint on it. I put UVLS on body to lock colors in.

      @@customlurepainter I've seen people paint them or paint the edges of the tails But obviously you don't clear coat them, would UVLS be good enough to lock the colors to the bristles.

      I don’t spray the tails

      @@customlurepainter I guess I'll just experiment and see. Someone said use a sharpie.
