Most OECD countries have national govenrments that tax and pay for higher educaiton and universal health care. Its partly that view that keeps ANY decent legislation off the books. But to take an example, I did a comparison between my province of New Brunswick adn Maine. Maine has lower taxes, but no healthcare. So it turns out that the decrease in taxes is virtually indentical to what they pay in health insurance. Which means its not a question of saving money, that money simply goes to insurers rather than the government.

People who want the power to “lord it over others” do that sort of thing. Even God did not send Jesus to do that. He offered the Truth and gave everyone the respect, by His own humility, to make their own choice. But God has always taught “cause and effect”, not withstanding.

Ron Paul is the guy that made me realize that I am a America first nationalist constitutional and fiscal conservative with Christian morals and values. He was TOO honest, I remember a debate like this but he criticized the government SO badly that it came out as anti american. He was right, but its the only time I've seen somebody running for party nomination and getting Boo'd by the crowd.
