The Apache is brilliant. But RC 390 has a slightly better suspension and more power.
The RC is for someone who knows exactly what they want from their bike and sees race lines in real time 😂.
Where as the Apache /BMW is much more forgiving and will give you a true sense of security around corners.
You should see the BMW in real life.
Or Apache they're both breathtaking :p
They look like big bikes as well.
If they price it 800-1000 euros/ pounds cheaper than the RC it could well be worth it for the Euro/Brit bros.

@@thedrifter8641 Exactly my point. Most people build their opinion based upon some reviews by journalist, most of them having no idea about the technicalities except they reiterate the specs sheet. For outright track performance, it's KTM and for all rounder services it's RR310. (However, 2022 RC390 has lost some of the outright track dynamics in favour of being road friendly).

Completely agree, if we get that BMW version here in MX, I would go for the TVS and not expend more money by just getting the BMW brand. I am not sure if we get all the options for the TVS here in MX, but we do get the two color options and it does come with the Road 5s. I also agree that the KTM is way better than the TVS and more sporty so if BMW expects to get more people into their bike by saying that is the best sports bike under 500cc they are completely crazy. With the current economy situation pretty much the same everywhere (Prices going higher) I don't think people will be willing to pay more just to get a nice BMW logo.

TVS basically perfected the engine, reduced the vibration and made the apache 310rr a better and more affordable bike than the BMW 310 twins.
And when the product was completely finished.. BMW just took it, put on some BMW stickers, Downgraded the tyres and removed the optional accessories and selling it for higher price.
Even being higher priced, The BMW will still sell a lot as most people here care more about brand than the value... Also don't forget the 3 times servicing cost the BMW is gonna charge for the same motorcycle.
The product is also mostly developed for other Asian markets than US & Europe as here most of the roads are filled with curves and lot of traffic and we find very less long straights here and because of that the maximum safe speeds possible are usually below 100kmph that's the the riding modes make sense here.

Coming from a country where small bikes and mid size bikes are well known. TVS Apache competes with Sport tour bike called Dominar 400 which has the same motor as the KTM Duke 390... in general everyone chooses the Dominar 400 due to its versatility to travel, speed, and comfort seating position. But if only talk about sport bikes... R3 is the choice just cause speed, reliability and maintenance. And if its sold in US or UK, I don't think it could be a possible competition unless people go for the looks, which I can't lie. It's a gorgeous one

The BMW might do better in European markets especially at places where small capacity motorcycles are a thing. Here in India people still prefer TVS because of the pricing and after sale service. BMW should've atleast changed the bike a little bit aesthetically and that's just my opinion. But people here in India are already hating the BMW because of no changes to the bike apart from a diffrent paint scheme and a higher price tag plus the shitty after sales service.

Well the new BMW G310RR is a good looking machine. Especially in that BMW white with graphics.
Wish BMW could have changed at least the front styling to give the G 310 RR its own unique looks. Personal my choice will be the TVS because for less cash it gives the same good looks, Amazing built quality, same levels of performance, but with more extra features that the BMW Misses. The KTM is also a realy awesome machine,it looks sharp and modern. The design is on the functional side though rather than being aesthetics side.
it got more power and performance, its slightly practical thanks features larger 13.7 litter fuel tank, pillion grab bars for the rear seat. Compared Apache here in India it doesn't comes with adjustable front suspension like in UK or the Europen market's. Still its a good option to have.

The "but it's a fixed price all over Europe sir, so you'll know how much you'll be charged even when you are outside the UK", didn't really fill me full of joy. TVS offers the race settings in the optional Built to Order (BTO) variant. It has a race package, which raises footpegs to a racier position (similar to RC) and lowers the handlebars, to give a perfect rider triangle for races. Moreover, it offers a Dynamic package, which offers fully adjustable front suspension. 😄

I think the KTM makes sense as a new purchase but wouldn’t want one out of warranty period 😂 the CF Moto 300 SR is probably a more direct competitor power wise and comes in at sub four grand with a 4 year warranty as well. Personally it’s a used Honda or R3 for me over a new one of these any day!

For the status seeker customers if we think we could have put the BMW roundel on a stinking pile of dog 💩 they would paid a premium price for it. I never understood that status above value way of thinking but those customers seems to have more education than intelligence.
BMW knows their customer base and know the foolish among them will happily hand over a premium price for less than premium hardware.

Talking about riding modes and traction control/quick shifters in such small capacity bike is (including KTMs 390 series), in not so developed countries, people rarely buy motorcycles for tracks or racing! It is their everyday bike to buy groceries or to have fun weekend ride and with all due respect, not everyone can afford Lr class motorcycle and even if you do, you don’t have such good road to drive on. Moreover, there is no hard traffic rules that are being followed, hence just one mistake of yours/someone else and you are gone ! So such features provide best of both world in most affordable price one can imagine. 😊 ps - no intention to hurt anyone’s feeling. Just providing real world scene from a bike enthusiast! ✌🏻

But, I have had an awful experience with KTM's after-sales service in my country, whereas BMW is characterized by being very customer-oriented... I think that if I change it, it will be to have a small sporty BMW and an adventure one over 600 cc (or café racer).
