    The hole at top left was to store a spare pick-up head shell. My first hi-fi deck was one of those. I still have it after over 40 years!

      You are right, I just checked on the net in the owners manual but I have seen in vintage hifi store that there was installed brush arm but maybe original design was for the "head shell" I never seen that someone is keeping one there. Good call.

    That turntable has to have been made by Technics. It's so close in design to my SL-1400 that it's scary!

      In Japan they cooperated a lot with each other so maybe they integrated some of the ideas from others, who knows.
