For those saying Enterprise is better than Essex: 1. Enterprise had a homing beacon in the battle showcase, causing her to go first and hit more enemies. If I had made Essex go first instead, she would have done more damage. 2. The "flooding" DoT debuff is NOT counted in the battle results, meaning Essex does a lot more damage than what is recorded. 3. Essex has much more consistency than Enterprise with her GUARANTEED extra airstrike proc, while also providing additional survivability for the whole fleet through her blue skill.

I mean they both have noticable skill too> Intrepid skill 1 : can guranteed sb2c helldiver + armor break BB and shangri la skill 2 : 10 sec after battle launch F6F fighter; if the fighter is shot down, launch an aerial barrage (damage increases with level), this skill showcase i cant find it in youtube, maybe you can make this skill 2 explanation.

The VT-8 Squadron starting as a weak Devastator then a stronger Avenger is actually a historical reference to the Battle of Midway. All of USS Hornet's VT-8 Squadron of 30 planes (along with some other squads from her sister ships) were shot down during bombing runs against the IJN carriers with only one survivor who managed to stay afloat in the water before being rescued after the battle was over. The Devastator plane was obsolete at the time and immediately pulled from service after that disaster. Other pilots who were assigned to USS Saratoga reformed VT-8 but using the newer Avenger planes.

Any stage over Chapter 6 drops purple parts. Right now, I would heavily encourage you to farm the Essex event (on hard mode), since you can beat the boss relatively quickly, and she drops purple parts. Other than that, you can farm 7-2 and if you have the medals/gold, you can buy some more purple parts in the corresponding shop.
My heart sank whenever my three builds doesn't have that magic number of 4:25. Only time that magic number was seen during this rate up was day 1 when I got Shangri-la in my first pull.

OMG I started the video and i got kinda sad because i didnt had her, BUT i decided to pull while watching the video and now I FINALLY HAVE HER AAAAAAAAH *fangirl screaming*
For my Eagle union fleet, I like to have Prince of Wales in there which gives 15% FP and AA to Eagle vanguards and 15% AVI to Eagle CVs, then a Baltimore which increases Eagle CV Avi by another 15%, then have Independence Retrofit give another 12% buff to AVI and 10% to RLD of CVs. The Prince of Wales's skill lets it fire it's salvo almost straight away with it''s 85% reduced loading time, followed shortly in about 8 seconds by the Independence airstrike followed by about another 7 seconds for the Essex airstrike, followed by a second salvo 5 seconds later from the Prince of wale's Triple 381mm gun. Because these strikes are all capable of wiping the map of enemies, spacing them apart maximises the damage dealt. If you then stick the almost invincible Anchorage on the front line and a San Diego retro in the middle holding a beaver squad, you'll get a triple cruiser frontline that is as agile and evasive as a frontline containing destroyers whilst at the same time having some of the best firepower, health pools and anti air you can get in the game. >:D Edit: I forgot to say, a New Jersey sitting around in the other fleet gives an Extra 15% AVI to this fleet. As the Prince of Wales's skills don't require it to be in the central position to be the most effective, you can put the Essex in as the flagship for a bit of extra dmg.

i will say, there are two torpedo bombers with more niche uses that i think could take their spots on any carriers in any situation: the blackburn firebrand, and the 818 squadron. why these two? well, the 818 squadron deals a good amount of damage, though not as much as a barracuda squad, but also slows any enemies it hits. the blackburn, on the other hand, deals about the same damage as the 818 squad, but has the bonus of being one of, if night the, best dive bombers as far as aa goes. both of these are niche, but worth considering at least.

Hey Ander. I was wondering... How does the flooding debuff work when you're procking it with the plane ability and essex's own ability? Do they stack? Does it refresh the duration? Does the ability prock replace the plane one? Cheers.
As long as the flooding is from different sources, they will activate separately. This means that you can have multiple floods active on the same target, following their own damage intervals without interfering with each other.
Is U-101 in the center of your sub fleet on purpose? I just got her & got curious if you dont want the skill that makes her get closer to enemies if she's on the sides.
I've been using U-101 for a while, and it doesn't make too much of a difference for where you place her. However, if she is positioned closer to the enemy, it means there will be less time for her torpedoes to be on the screen. This might lower the chances of U-101's torpedoes connecting, since by the time an enemy ship spawns, the torpedoes might already be past them since U-101 shoots them so far up. This is especially apparent if the enemy is fast because they dodge U-101's torpedoes with ease.
no Ander but the best way to get EXP for PRs is doing the highest map with the necessary ships for each one. That's it, (unfortunately) there is no magic formula for the grind. IMHO, farming PR is the perfect time to level up those ships that are very good but maybe you haven't had time to use. So choose those ships well and (please) don't run and take your time, the grind at the end is the easy part for doing a PR... having all the necessary BPs in order to be useful and not an stupid ornament, that is (already) the end game.
What about the dive bomber SBD Dauntless (McClusky Division) you can get at the core shop? All the stats are better than the purple one, and it also has a special skill against CVs. By trading the 500lb bombs for only 100lb bombs, i understand that even with better stats, the actual damage output may not necessary be higher, but with the skill and the 20 extra AVI from being gold, shouldn't this plane be better overall?
It has damage comparable to a gold BTD-Destroyer. In most cases, the SB2C Helldiver still performs better, but if you are against a carrier boss (especially in Chapter 13) this can be a very good option.
I wish there was the option to have the game on semi-auto. Where the vanguard moves auto but you can activate the skills manually. Not sure if that'd be too op, but it's just very meh when your entire main fleet use their abilities on a random half hp boat.

Her first skill is kinda Confusing-- Well.. to me though.. I did Launch Airstrike but There is no flood damage like literally how does it really work? When Launch Airstrike will her gonna Sending Extra Planes from time to time or As soon as i called for Airstrike? And how does Flooding damage work? like fire damage but is able to stack with Fire or something?
Essex launches additional planes when she launches her airstrike. Those extra planes shoot out torpedoes, and if an enemy is hit by said torpedoes, they will be inflicted with the Flooding debuff. Flooding makes the inflicted enemy take damage over time. It does not get counted towards the total damage results that pop up at the end of the screen. It can be active at the same time as the burn debuff.
I always wonder if those reddit posts on emulator can be programmed to harm the pc are true? I have been searching and asking people but all I get are all different answers. That is the one thing I am still using my phone to play even though its overheating.
I haven't been doing much with my oil recently since there is no major event going on. So, I've been using the oil instead for the 1200 oil commission, which gives a TON of gold.

Ander, considering CV and Dmg focused CVL need aviation instead of reload I think that having double steam catapult would make more sense than Homing Beacon. I've seen you recommend it in other CV gear guide and I found it was a bad idea. My opinion is Homing Beacon is best for CVL that has healing ability.

Essex has tools, Enty is sheer power with super armor. It boils down to your playstyle.

Yes! Flooding stacks as long as it is from different sources. This is yet another reason why it is better than burns.

Essex launches additional planes when she launches her airstrike. Those extra planes shoot out torpedoes, and if an enemy is hit by said torpedoes, they will be inflicted with the Flooding debuff.
Flooding makes the inflicted enemy take damage over time. It does not get counted towards the total damage results that pop up at the end of the screen. It can be active at the same time as the burn debuff.

Ander, considering CV and Dmg focused CVL need aviation instead of reload I think that having double steam catapult would make more sense than Homing Beacon. I've seen you recommend it in other CV gear guide and I found it was a bad idea. My opinion is Homing Beacon is best for CVL that has healing ability.
