My problem is that so many inputs have such a delay on top of being very specific actions, so even if i react and call their move and press the button, nothing goes through 😐
Yeah NGL it's been pissing me off it varies sometimes but I had a game where no counters worked, yet the next match all my counters worked it's extremely frustrating

Love the video! Speaking of defensive tips. Theres a move i see in the story mode where the enemy character catches my fist or kick theres a little cinematic and quip then a large burst of their aura and an attack. Any idea how i do that? I cant find it in the lab?
@backupyelo So my recommendation would to he load up the training mode and practice it for a bit. To do this you load up training, than go to training settings, than choose "Smash attacks & Follow-Ups"! I'll also do a video for you really quickly if that doesn't make sense!!
From what i seen from playing, Z counters only work on smash attacks or charged attacks. If you see in the video when piccolo kicks that wind trail is left behind? On moves with that wind trail you can always z counter from what i see
I had my controls on semiautomatic and once i turned off guard assist i had a lot easier time doing the Z counter. Not sure if you have the same contols but that might be why.

Okay. So I learned pretty fast that defense and countering is ESSENTIAL for this game. More than ANY other game I've played. With that being said. Is it me or is the timing for these counters too small? Like I feel like I do it and nothing happens. Especially for the *getting knocked away and vanishing before getting hit again* one. Super Perception uses skill counts while regular perception does not. Yes they're both the same button to perform and both can be used while guarding. Super Perception can be used to counter more powerful stuff like smash attacks, revenge counters and can deflect certain (not all) blasts attacks like kamehameha, galick gun, etc. Regular perception can only counter rush attacks and if you press and hold the button to do the regular perception, you can maintain the stance but it drains your ki bar.
@@star14604 No, even if you have a couple of skill counts, you'll still be doing regular perception. It depends on what type of attack your trying to counter. Let's say you have a skill count and your caught in your opponent's rush attack. If you press the button for perception before or while your opponent is hitting you with their rush attack, you'll just do a regular perception or a sonic sway regardless of you having a skill count. If you press the same button when your opponent is about to hit you with a smash attack or a revenge counter, then you'll perform the super perception instead and your skill count will be consumed. If you don't have a skill count and you try to counter a smash attack or deflect a blast, it wouldn't work and you'll get hit. Again it depends on the type of attack. Perception for rush attacks, super perception for smash, revenge counter, blasts.
Great question, but no any attack to your back will land 100% but if you block and hold direction toward the opponent you can quickly turn and have a chance of blocking!
@@SwiftSSJThat's actually false. First off, you can 100% use Super counter even while your back is turned. I've done this and I'm gonna post a video for evidence. Second, when your opponent is attacking you from behind you have options. You can try using super counter to get out of it. You could also try high-speed evasion. When you're caught in the rush combo, wait till the end when they're about to launch you and press the guard button so that you'll perform a high speed evasion. Another option is to pick a character that has the explosive wave skill and use it to escape.
