I live in Forest Hills Gardens and this video does a great job of capturing the vibe of the area. It is sedate (except on Halloween, where it is a great place to trick or treat), beautiful, close to great shopping and you can get to Manhattan in 2O minutes. Little known detail: the Gardens has the greatest concentration of tree cover in New York City outside of the city parks. By the way, that also means we have to rake a lot of leaves!
Those Tudor Revival Homes are simply stunning, my favorite style of house. I couldn't resist logging onto Zillow, and these stately homes are just as gorgeous on the inside as outside. Surprisingly, HOA membership & dues are "voluntary." As one would expect, these homes are well into the million-dollar price range, and most are multi-million dollars homes. The condominiums approach one million. The covenants are restrictive so that "junk" house at the 45-minute mark was very unexpected. Thank you for sharing & taking me to another place & time for 58 minutes & 17 seconds because for a guy that mows his own lawn & rakes his own leaves, this is as close as I'll get.

The “junk” house at about 45 minutes was just throwing out some stuff. Believe me, it’s nice. Some homes are in better shape than others, though, whether because the owners are cheap or they can’t afford the upkeep.
I am compelled to both “watch” and “comment” simply because of the astounding beauty and harmony involved in planning , designing and building such an unexpected classical gem in Queens, NY , of all places. The greatest feature of this century old (+) development is without a doubt … it’s enduring beauty. Ingenuousness is timeless. Bravo ! 🇨🇦
