I've watched the video and can't wait to make one for myself. Such a fun hat! Not sure why so many in the comments think the instructions are bad. Maybe they aren't experienced enough to make this hat? It's not beginner friendly IMO. Seems more like advanced beginner/intermediate because of the baubles. I thought the video explained it well.
So I was following along with the video knitting it up and when I was ready to remove the hat from the loom I was completely confused as to why the baubles did not "look right". We'll the video totally skipped and failed to show how to secure the baubles so it looked terrible because the baubles were unsecured flapping around everywhich way. The instructions were incomplete, to say the least. I went to the KB website/blog and found that the comment option for this video had been turned off so I was unable to have the maker of this lollipop hat give me corrections to fix this colossal mistake. I was able to find videos on TH-cam to make baubles so I am going to attempt to make a hat with the baubles. I plan on making a video so maybe we can get a proper instructional video. Sadly disappointed that this awesome hat was sorely incomplete in instructions...
My guess is they use the Flexi because most large round looms only have 40 or 41 pegs. This has 42. I’d say, just make sure the loom you use has an even number of pegs (like 36 or 40) and that you go in the same direction as the video and it should turn out fine.

Can you do this on any loom? Ie is there any reason it has to be done on the Flexi?
I made it on a regular loom. Turned out great! Super cute. The instructions are confusing in some places though.
