NFT section really dated this video, its an interesting video with strategies i wouldn't have ever considered. The whole NFT section reminded me of google glasses or The Zune by microsoft which was their verizon of the ipod.
I must say that this chat with Melanie was one of the most eye-opening book marketing videos I have watched on this channel. It has rich practical advice too. I have watched it twice and I will watch it again . I can't thank you enough for what you do for me and authors around the world April! 🙂

They guarantee Best seller status. You know WHY? Or, HOW they do it? Because if all you need is '25' people in a day to purchase your book to be a best seller, what they do is contact YOU, have you drop your e- book down to 0.99 cents, THAN they contact '25' people on THEIR mailing list to purchase your book for only 0.99 cents. And they do this with EVERYBODY. NOW, your a bestseller. Can you say ... SCAM?
This video is truly phenomenal and has tons of tools. Can you please provide some information about 99 cents promotion? Do you do that days prior to book release date or first day of book release? When is the time to complete that step? Thank you
We have the book at $.99 for 24 to 48 hours. But you have to change the price about 24 hours before the launch to make sure that Amazon updates the price in time.
What I do is a soft launch week where the book is up for 99 cents and the “launch team” and people who got advanced reader copies are the only ones who are told and they can go buy cheap copies and leave reviews so on official launch day you bring the price back up and you’ve got reviews and momentum going when you announce it to everyone else.
She didn’t say one important reason not to do the launch with a free book, the ranks for free are totally separate lists from the paid rankings. You won’t get any boost in the paid rankings and won’t get the bestseller status. That wasn’t the case ten years ago but it is now. Makes sense because a best “seller” means it sold, not that it was given away!
Yes that’s true. I’ve been recommending a period of selling the ebook during launch for .99 or 1.99 to get that best-seller. Regardless, you want to keep those sales going and that’s the most important thing is to have a strategy for that.
I am a bit confused. She recommends not to do kindle ebooks bc you are lock in for 90 days. But use amazon ebooks? I didn’t know there were two different ones? Please provide some clarification.
If you enroll in kdp select you can set your book for free (free days) and it is available free for those that have it in kindle unlimited. However, Jenn recommends you do not do that but instead have a low priced launch of your ebook that can help you get sales (at a low cost) to drive the best-seller ranking. So if you launch an ebook for .99 for example and ask your launch team to purchase the ebook and provide reviews then every sale at that .99 brings you closer to best-seller. Make sense?
