“I keep my expectations low and my gratitude high “ words I needed the hear and live by. Very humble. I grew up in a tiny little farm town in Virginia and I remember being totally charmed by Marilyn. I thought he was the most interesting, talented, beautiful thing I had ever seen. He still looks beautiful. Sweet man. Blessing to you Marilyn.

My name is Anoosh and I happen to be one of the young boys who also was discovering the world and myself at the same time with Marylin and many others. Seeing him took me back forty years. I worked in embassy club as a sexy waiter & always took care of him on drinks and other amenities. Many regards to all those guys and girls who made my youth anything but boring. ❤️

The interviewer [Toby Mott] - has a great deal of info to cover, in a limited time. Toby is a hugely knowledgeable Punk, 80's historian. His fashion brand "Toby Pimlico" is worth researching, especially his *GREY* collection. Him and Marilyn covered a great deal in this interview. Nice job Toby, and big thanks Marilyn. He is a legend beyond words. Much like George at the time their fan bases were mostly female. New Romanticism was very much punk in it's essence. I don't know why people make such a distinctive division between the two. In America it's called "freaky drag". It's punk meets glam.

@@deerheart87 that’s exactly the point. It’s a shame, and it shouldn’t be normalized just because everybody goes through it. That’s in fact the reason why it should be taken more seriously instead of just conforming to it and saying “everybody hurts. That’s life. Deal with it”. Are you seriously pulling a “all lives matter” just because someone pointed to the fact that queer people go through hell in high school?

that's kind of annoying how the interviewer was smiling whle he was talking about some of his bullying. Like he thought it was funny. May not be that big of a deal to him, but to a lot of us who have been bullied, it's a VERY big deal.

He remains a star having survived the pressures, thrived then survive again we grew together and as gay men of that period we are the product of our circumstance and period, some have endured far more of and from those areas than most. Well done. What a journey! Onwards and upwards. Fame itself can be a dangerous drug.

Divine. Those days were not about anger. They were about hilarious fun, expression, creativity, exhibitionism, saying something, attention. That’s what I remember. We made our outfits out of whatever we could find in charity shops, jumble sales, grannie’s bedroom. We bleached our hair with Dot loo cleaning powder if necessary. Coloured it with food dye because it was 19p.

As another survivor of the 1980s , non famous person, I’m aware many of my mates weren’t so fourtunate as I.
The times were pretty crazy.I feel many famous & non) got ,lost ….and the ones that came back, kudos stayed stronger!
Marilyn too love your sense of humour similar to your mate George,
I feel in life in death 🔮🔮both of you will forever will be connected,as not have you shared so much joy but pain together.
    Also,
A lot of same beliefs re spiritually)
Looking forward to this newbie record hopefully it won’t effect either negatively Jamaica ( all the ganja) not being sober.
Wish you both the best always!

Even his name and fame are his nemesis. Good for him. I hope Marilyn reemerges with a few hit songs and is able to capitalise on his abilities.
He is so theatrical and talented and looks quite handsome as a bloke.

I recall he walked in with George who was clad in black with no make-up (I didn't even know who he was till he opened his mouth!).
