Hello Friends,
Welcome to [ Stitch & Style by Savita ]! Today, we’re going to guide you through the process of creating a charming ensemble for your little one. We’ll be sewing an asymmetrical baby tank top, a stylish lapel neck vest jacket, and a sweet box-pleated skirt.
Materials You’ll Need:
• Fabric for each garment
• Matching thread
• Scissors
• Pins
• Sewing machine
• Measuring tape
• Marking chalk or fabric marker
• Buttons or snaps for closures
• Iron and ironing board
Part 1: Asymmetrical Baby Tank Top
Step 1: Cut Fabric and Sew
2. Lay out your chosen fabric and pin the pattern pieces onto it. Carefully cut out the fabric pieces.
3. Pin and sew the tank top pieces together, making sure to follow the asymmetrical design. Sew the shoulder seams and side seams.
4. Hem the armholes and the bottom of the tank top.
5. Turn the tank top right side out.
Part 2: Lapel Neck Vest Jacket
Step 1: Create the Vest Jacket Pattern
1. Create a pattern for the lapel neck vest jacket, including the lapels, front, back, and sleeves.
Step 2: Cut Fabric and Sew
2. Cut out the fabric pieces using your pattern as a guide.
3. Sew the shoulder seams and side seams of the vest.
4. Attach the sleeves.
5. Create lapels by folding over the front edges and sewing them down.
6. Add buttons or snaps for closure on the front of the vest.
Part 3: Box-Pleated Skirt
Step 1: Create the Skirt Pattern
1. Make a pattern for the box-pleated skirt, considering the baby’s waist measurement and desired length.
Step 2: Cut Fabric and Sew
2. Cut the fabric pieces for the skirt.
3. Create box pleats by folding the fabric and pinning it in place. Sew along the top of the pleats.
4. Sew the back seam of the skirt.
5. Add a waistband, and insert elastic or a drawstring for a comfortable fit.
6. Hem the bottom of the skirt.
