EX-1 Silo HM is the best place. You can get a run down to about 3 minutes as you can skip most mobs in the place besides the first room to get the card.
lets say you have 150% crit damage on your build and only 50% weapon damage it would be mathed like this (1 + 1.5) * (1 + .5) = 3.75, meaning you have a 3.75 damage multiplier on your bullets. So now lets say you have an option between 20% weapon damage, or 20% crit damage. We have 2 formulas: (1 + 1.5 + .2) * (1 + .5) = 4.05 - this is 20% crit (1 + 1.5) * (1 + .5 + .2) = 4.25 - this is 20% wep dmg In this example the weapon damage gave us an extra .2 on the multiplier. So how much crit damage do we need to equalize this and choose even more crit, isntead of the 20% wep damage? We can take 4.25 / 1.5, which is the damage multiplier from the weapon damage, divided by our base wep dmg. This gives us 2.83. So our original crit multiplier was 2.5. We need .33 crit damage to equal a .2 wep damage with our current values. (1 + 1.5 + .33) * (1 + .5) = ~4.25 So this is literally a random example I made up. In general, if you are choosing between very similar values. Then add it to the one that you have less of. If you are choosing between 20% wep damage bullet siphon on pants, vs 45% crit from deadshot on pants, choose deadshot. It's more than double, and is likely to give you more in the end. That's a more realistic example.

Thanks for the guide, it was really helpful for improving the build, if I may I have two questions to ask. You use the Gas Tight Helmet which I've been told limits your Shrapnel to only hitting 1 part, therefore would the 'Shrapnel hitting more parts' mod not rather wasted? I feel you could look to drop a lot of crit chance and instead use the Shrapnel procs increase crit chance up to 30% or even the Shrapnel hits return one ammo to the mag mod to make it pretty much never have to reload, would the singular 15% boost be worth it over those? As for the deviants, did you happen to do any testing on if Shadow Hounds 27% Weapon Damage is better over something like Mr. Wish who applies the Bulls Eye Vulnerability (I dont want to have to use Recurve bow and if I did have to use a Bulls Eye weapon I'd consider myself looking into the idea of Doombringer since it offers Recurve bows 30% and more bonuses) I'm looking to run pretty much the same setup with 3 Lone Wolf and 2 Bastille for the 10% Weapon Damage + 20% Reload speed to offset the Heavy Style calibration reload penalty, as for the Helmet currently using Beret until theres clarification on if Gas Mask is a straight upgrade to beret or has the limiting factor of only 1 Part triggering.
@@n0ttsweet_ Yeah im not 100% on Bastille but it has at least two really good options in the form of reload speed (which becomes painfully slow when you get the Heavy Calibration) and also Weapon Damage which considering as described in the video we already have a load of crit Weapon would be better, most alternative gear sets you only seem to get one useful perk out of them at best if doing 2pc. I would never drop my Weakspot-Damage just for a little Bonus in Crit-Damage. PS: Base-Damage + Weakspot-Damage + Boss-Damage then multiplied by Crit-Damage is way more potent in terms of DPS, than to skip on Weakspot-Damage entirely. The latter is simply weaker in terms of DPS. EDIT: Multiply 64% by x 3,31 and compare it to 0% x 3,61...
How is showing on the test dummy when multiple skills don't proc on it really showing much. I think effortlessly killing bosses and mobs and the content of the game is actually what's good. I also said the build wasn't quite optimized as it was my week 1. I'm doing a more in depth breakdown of shrapnel mods and gear soon. I'll show more on test dummy
Oddly enough, there's a Shrapnel Perk that gives you a decent buff if your Shrapnel procs with a crit on the weakpoint. Transitioning from chest shots to weakpoint shots at this time increases your dps significantly for the duration of the buff.
I use the lonewolf too. Have you witnessed the dmg it does with its multiplying in the fog mini games? Incredibly helpful late game when waves come from different angles.

Buy something if its something you really need, otherwise gamble for blueprint fragments to be able to upgrade your blueprints for gear you actually want to use
Why are you not using a helm like the beret ? I've heard people say the fire fighter helmet you are using isn't good because it allows you to proc only 1 shrepnel but at 120% damage. You can reach 50% shrepnel damage (if I'm correct) with 3 procs which is 150% damage. I'm not very good at math or understanding of the game but I would like your opinion on this beret, cage helmet and yours
beret gives an extra proc, or 100% more shrapnel damage (effectively) . Gas mask gives 120% damage. The math isnt hard. But there are LESS shrapnel procs so there are some thigns it doesnt synergize as well with.
Personally i believe by the time you get to explosive they are most likely dead but it could be that the next person gets one shot? Worth trying it in action
I dont quite understand this, i might be missing something because you seem to do in depth testing, but 2 things: 1. Why would you use the gas mask? Doesnt that negate the +1 shrapnel hit on crit? And if you replaced that with beret, would add an addtional +1 at all times? If youre looking for that "20th hit" shrapnel burst, wouldnt that benefit from occurring 3x as often? And if youre using the mod that increases shrapnel damage based on number of shrapnels that hit together isnt this helmet a damage loss? 2. How would these calculations change if you dropped the "+crit, no weakspot" and took the shrapnel core mod that makes 100% of shrapnels hit weakspot automatically? Couple that with the beret instead of gas mask and youll be landing those shrapnel burst headshots all the time, no?
Beret increases the number of shrapnel 'hits' by 1 (100%) but that is off a single bullet 'trigger'. Gas mask is just making that single shrapnel hit deal 120% inc damage. So technically its 20% better. For instance Shrapnel Smash mod says "triggering shrapnel grants shrapnel crit". It doesnt say shrapnel hits. So beret doesnt make it gain crit chance any faster.
@@tykobray4132 unless I'm mistaken, beret adds +1 shrapnel to each hit, so you fire 4 bullets and get 1 proc, that proc gives 2 hits of shrapnel. The SOCR causes crits to proc an additional shrapnel, so that 1 bullet causes THREE separate shrapnel hits... If you wear the gas mask you can never proc more than 1 shrapnel hit, it just hits harder... So if you're just SWAPPING between gas mask and beret, you could easily argue that 2 shrapnel vs 1 HEAVY shrapnel could be worse, but with the +1 proc from crits on your SOCR it seems like that would be completely negated by the gas mask while the beret has no such limitation
@@jameshansen1148 you are correct in regards to the SOCR because that weapon ALSO adds a +1 shrapnel hit (the wording is fucked). Now we are getting into combinations of gear. This is where the G17 (Shrapnel pistol) or KAM (blue AK) +gas mask+shrapnel carnage/explosive shrapnel works better than a beret set up as they also add more base damage to scale higher with the mask and explosive shrapnel for example. The pistol allows the user to stack weakspot damage too. I still dont rate explosive shrapnel though. 300%/20 shots = 15% crit damage average. Targeted strike is 10% crit and 25% crit damage. its obviously a limited duration but targeted strike is more dps but is less lazy and has a 5 second downtime between applying the buff again. So with that in mind it probably averages the same overall between those 2 mods.

Shrapnel and Unstable Bomber are the Kings in PvE right now, that saying, if you are a player that only wants the best of the best and be full MIN-MAX in your build, you don't want to quit your weak spot attacks, Mr Thicc is kinda losing damage right now with his build but in exchange, is making this build more easy and cheap to play and be effective in PvE... but, if you want play the best of the best of Shrapnel Critical Build, then you're going to win more damage if you mix this build with the bulls eye (recommended with purple crossbow, and golden sniper), because with both your output damage becomes bigger, but are more expensive also you need to switch weapons all time to keep stacking bulls eye (Sniper) or buff yourself (Crossbow) and for that you need hit weakspots, but the logic behind the build is good, in terms on stats you're going to focus on weapon damage and crit... not even in the mix, you want to have weakspot damage, since you only use weakspot to trigger The Bulls eye and win critical chance, critical damage and weapon damage trough Bulls Eye Stacks. One thing he doesn't say is that if you are a PvP player, don't use Shrapnel in PvP, is one of the worst in PvP right now... instead focus on something more useful and powerful for PvP like Power Surge, Fast Gunner, fortress warfare... the thing is that all builds (except from fortress warfare) are totally viable in PvE, you don't go to have issues in any PvE content except if you use fortress warfare because is the "tank" of the game but don't work well against certain mechanics in end game bosses and prime war... so, if you play in PvP server and do a lot of PvP content, you should focus on build that works for both PvE and PvP, and Shrapnel is not a good choice sadly... King in PvE - Useless in PvP.
@@uglyfoox8964 I kinda don't know now which one is the best for everything... is more like I say, there are ones like unstable bomber and shrapnel are the most powerful in full PvE but are not that good in PvP, but there are others like fortress warfare that are extremely powerful in PvP but are not that good in PvE... If you ask me in my experience, in general the most common one I see for players that want to focus both in PvE and PvP but maximize only 1 build, is Power Surge, that say, is the most common, but I don't know if is the best... is just know that is the most common used.

So now lets say you have an option between 20% weapon damage, or 20% crit damage. We have 2 formulas:
(1 + 1.5 + .2) * (1 + .5) = 4.05 - this is 20% crit
(1 + 1.5) * (1 + .5 + .2) = 4.25 - this is 20% wep dmg
In this example the weapon damage gave us an extra .2 on the multiplier.
(1 + 1.5 + .33) * (1 + .5) = ~4.25
So this is literally a random example I made up.
@@thiccfila thank you so much this helped alot
Nice guide :) i almost use the same but falcon armor is not that strong like befor thats why i use lonewolf 4 piece for crit and more crit dmg and also i switch scout 2 set for 1 piece of bastile what gives you aswell a 10% weapon dmg boost any you can have a 4 set :D i will try the mods you use i think they way better what i use right now :D greetings from germany my friend

deadshot or bullet siphon which is better?
What is considered "a bunch" though ?
Hello, thanks for this guide, i will definitely be switching over to this one! I was wondering how the cradle effect "deadly combo" works with the fateful strike helmet mod? Since you are unable to do weakspot damage. Would the shrapnel still be able to his weakspot?
Also, what would you reckon about the 2 piece lone wolf set?
I mean you definitely want the 3rd piece, but it costs starchrom lol so get what you can
@@thiccfila That's fair. Yeah i can only afford 2 right now.. maybe by the end of the season xD. How did you get some of these golden mods? I checked the online lists and they're mostly gated behind hard mode dungeons :(
Well that list is wrong then lol, just hover dungeons or boss and see what type of gold item they drop
@@thiccfila Hey thiccfila, I have enough starchrom for the lone wolf set. you mentioned 3 pieces, but what do we replace? the 2 falcon or the scout? with scout we lose 8% weapon dmg but with falcon we lose the 5% crit rate and 20% crit damage
Wish who applies the Bulls Eye Vulnerability (I dont want to have to use Recurve bow and if I did have to use a Bulls Eye weapon I'd consider myself looking into the idea of Doombringer since it offers Recurve bows 30% and more bonuses)
I'm looking to run pretty much the same setup with 3 Lone Wolf and 2 Bastille for the 10% Weapon Damage + 20% Reload speed to offset the Heavy Style calibration reload penalty, as for the Helmet currently using Beret until theres clarification on if Gas Mask is a straight upgrade to beret or has the limiting factor of only 1 Part triggering.
I agree!! 3 Lone Wolf and Beret! Not sure if I like Bastille for the last slots, I'm still considering others.
But still testing waters with things so who knows
@@Endeavourment I switched beret to gas-tight helmet just because of this vod and its literally the same dmg on manikin, but all mobs started die quickly than with beret, same for elites and bosses. so idk about that one, but for me gas helmet feels better. and yes, gas helmet limiting sharpnel to 1 part. but somehow this deals more dmg
@@karagami00 You should really do a comparison video. 🙏🙏 Would be great to see the diff between the two on mannequin and boss
From what I understand, Doombringer does not offer the same 30% to all weapons like the crossbow. It’s only to Doombringer itself.
Hey man, regarding your yellow gear, can you farm that from bosses or is it all from the gamba machine?
You can gamba it, but you can also buy them straight up in the machine. That's one things I don't like - you are so restricted due to the wish machine currency. Trying out different stuff is hard because most builds rely on gold weapons and they are in the machine.
@@Paelmoon Ye man it was one of the things I kept asking for in all of the surveys in the betas. I wanted those plans to be farmable from the great ones :(
Do you think this build would be better in prime wars than prime war focussed mods and weapons?
I mean for prime wars you need the gatling turret and the special bullets to crack the shield. otherwise just need multiple people DPS ing the boss while his shields broke. I think if you wanted to kill the prime war boss you'd need tungsten AP smart rounds
Smells like The Division 1 and 2's damage system. One of the first things I noticed is the 4 piece gear bonuses being quite similar
hows the performance in pro though?
How did you get the gold obliterate weapon mod? Was it random from one of the weapon/gear crates in higher levels?
shadow hound drops its on hard mode or pro
Running the same build, but dont have that helmet... how to get it? Also, i strongly reccomend a Deadshot mod in pants.
Its on the Wish Machine
I would never drop my Weakspot-Damage just for a little Bonus in Crit-Damage. PS: Base-Damage + Weakspot-Damage + Boss-Damage then multiplied by Crit-Damage is way more potent in terms of DPS, than to skip on Weakspot-Damage entirely. EDIT: I already have 80% Crit-Chance, plus 231% Crit-Damage "BUFFED" (including 64% Weakspot-Damage), which could also be 90% Crit-Chance, plus 261% Crit-Damage (when i switch that Helmet Mod... but then i have totally zero Weakspot-Damage). The latter is simply weaker in terms of DPS. EDIT: Multiply 64% by x 3,31 and compare it to 0% x 3,61...
what attachments are you using on the SOCR

need to see some damage on the test dummy so we can get a better idea of what your damage output really is...
Any idea where the fateful strike mod drops? I've been farming almost all of silos for hours and i still don't got it.
Silo Tetha and Phi
So this hound drops all the weapon mods? Even legendaries? I want to make your build but I miss a lot of weapon mods T.T
He drops legendary shrapnel and bounce
for shrapnel is it elemental or status bonus effects we want? no clue which it counts under
neither
You should check the helmet vs Beret, the Gas-tight helmet isnt +1 Shrapnel like Beret is.
Oddly enough, there's a Shrapnel Perk that gives you a decent buff if your Shrapnel procs with a crit on the weakpoint. Transitioning from chest shots to weakpoint shots at this time increases your dps significantly for the duration of the buff.
I'll be on the lookout for all kinds of mods!
So with this non weakspot build do we still aim for the head or the damage is higher on bodyshot
Doesn't matter
If you had to get the gun or the helmet (because starchrom is limited), which would you opt for in this build?
Gun
I use the lonewolf too. Have you witnessed the dmg it does with its multiplying in the fog mini games? Incredibly helpful late game when waves come from different angles.

@@thimbletoe that makes sense thanks man
Why are you not using a helm like the beret ? I've heard people say the fire fighter helmet you are using isn't good because it allows you to proc only 1 shrepnel but at 120% damage. You can reach 50% shrepnel damage (if I'm correct) with 3 procs which is 150% damage. I'm not very good at math or understanding of the game but I would like your opinion on this beret, cage helmet and yours
beret gives an extra proc, or 100% more shrapnel damage (effectively)
. Gas mask gives 120% damage. The math isnt hard. But there are LESS shrapnel procs so there are some thigns it doesnt synergize as well with.
Explosive Shrapnel or Shrapnel Carnage for PvP?
Personally i believe by the time you get to explosive they are most likely dead but it could be that the next person gets one shot? Worth trying it in action
I dont quite understand this, i might be missing something because you seem to do in depth testing, but 2 things:
I believe i saw someone explain why gas mask is better dps than beret but honestly im not sure
@@tykobray4132 how do you like the div smg? (I think that's the shrapnel one?)
Would the cage helmet better or worse cause I have that helmet.
Have you tried Shrapnel Smash?
Do I calibrate the weapon all the way to 10 with the default calibrations and then replace the calibration blueprint after that?
You can do it in any order, but youre not benefitting from those calibrations until its leveled up

So which is the best overall for pvp and pve?
You can trigger crossbows effect with this setup
@@uglyfoox8964 I kinda don't know now which one is the best for everything... is more like I say, there are ones like unstable bomber and shrapnel are the most powerful in full PvE but are not that good in PvP, but there are others like fortress warfare that are extremely powerful in PvP but are not that good in PvE...
If you ask me in my experience, in general the most common one I see for players that want to focus both in PvE and PvP but maximize only 1 build, is Power Surge, that say, is the most common, but I don't know if is the best... is just know that is the most common used.
