- "Exotropia Symptoms & Scoring Systems | Exotropia Series Part [Episode #3]"
In today’s video, we’re exploring the diverse symptoms of exotropia, including some unique experiences that patients may face, such as diplophotophobia (sensitivity to light with double vision), monocular eye closure for comfort, panoramic vision, and even micropsia (objects appearing smaller than they are). We’ll also discuss the scoring systems, like the Newcastle Scoring System, that clinicians use to evaluate exotropia severity, tracking these symptoms to better understand each case.
Whether you’re studying ophthalmology, working in eye care, or seeking to understand exotropia more fully, this episode covers crucial insights on symptoms and scoring that make a difference in managing exotropia effectively.

Thanks Dr. Excellent explanation💯
Excellent explanation. Your videos are very helpful for me.
Glad to help
Hello mam excellent video can u plz explain about pinhole and pinhole principle mam
You mentioned accommodation is a binocular process, can you explain why not binocular and monocular both. Because according to literature accommodation is both monocular and binocular phenomena.
And as far as I know in exo, accommodative convergence is not there that's why binocular visual acuity is less than monocular.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
As far as I know and as per standard teaching, it is binocular and also accommodation is active at distance as well.. especially in intermittent exotropia These points are well documented.

Sorry maam but I am still not convinced, according to recent literature and books, what conclusion I got that _ When fusion is present (like in exophoria or intermittent exotropia with control), accommodation is typically binocular. And when fusion is absent (like in constant exotropia), accommodation tends to be monocular, usually only in the fixating eye.
Maam can you please teach wavefront.aberrometry...please..
