Excellent tutorial on topsoil stripping! It's almost criminal how much topsoil is wasted because operators are too lazy to strip it. Also, you did a fantastic job on the dozer! Not an easy talent to master. When I am on the dozer I manage to make a level field into something resembling a motocross track! lol
I just so happen to love motocross tracks. Give it time & it will become second nature. Nice to hear I'm not the only one who cringes when it's wasted and thank you for the kind words.
I loved seeing this clear example of a method for strping top soil. Have you ever considered just putting a ditching style bucket on the excavator and doing it with that? I can't say it would be faster necessarily but it does mean one less thing you have to trailer to site.
Thank you for the kind words. You're correct, weighing out time and expense for any project is a sound business model. This project happen to be broader in scope than what was covered in video so dozer was already there. I have thought about making a "blade" for my bucket out of large u bolts and 1/2" plate for that very reason. Maybe another video In the future. Thanks for putting the bug in my ear.
@@CobbleCreekCabins I have seen some good add on edges with a V of steel that you hook to the over the teeth with chain. or the other option is to put on spade teeth, they do a decent job also.
