Wow... steve, this blew my mind watching the underwater footage of this thing... i immediately starting thinking of where i could throw this... thank you
I watched another channel where the guy uses an indoor pool to film and the loop knot doesn’t do anything. The loop just straightens because it’s under tension so it’s no better than any other knot. The lure had more action using a split ring or even a snap.
@@darrellgrant7615Interesting. I've had my doubts. I wouldn't imagine dropping slack in your line would make much difference in how it's tied. But idk, maybe something run through The eye twice could affect it.. will be interesting
Hey man I love you're videos please make more. I thought this holiday i done shopping but naw time to buy a few of these hair jigs. People forget any bass 5 pounds of more this 6 inch bait and other baits even bigger is nothing to a big basses mouth and triggers them to feed because bigger bass like big meals...... question would putting on a big plastic craw hurt the action of this jig ? or should i fish it as is ? also ur video the way it falls looks to mimic a dying bait fish good, so i was thinking add a craw that flaps its craw good on fall to mimic best of both food source, you said u iced over what state you in ? im in WV but in middle part of Virginia "4 hour drive from me" the bass are 10 pounds my target for a pb with big lures like this
I'm in northern Illinois. Dropping down into the teens at night here and freezing things up fast. I'm not sure about the trailer - I would have to do some checking with that and see what happens. Great question!
I was sure pleased how it looked underwater. Can't wait to give it a real solid effort next season. We iced up last night here. Not ready for that. Have a great week!
Those are like the bucktail jigs that have been popular for the saltwater since forever. But they're different, they sink slower. I must try them for flounder when they come back to the Chesapeake Bay enough to be worth fishin for them. They'll catch a lot of saltwater fish, for sure. I never heard of those before and that's exactly why I watch your videos. So thanks! Edit, WOW they're expensive and I don't see any in 1/4 oz. A 1/2 oz is too heavy for a lot of the places I fish. And I'm not thrilled about snagging $15 jigs. But if I see lighter ones I'll try one.
I make alot of those but I learned the name was preacher jig. They are time consuming to make and takes alot of material, but they are awesome. There is a reason they are pricey due to everything involved to make them.
Love this channel! Please keep doing underwater vids and how to use lures/baits!
Thanks! Will do!

I thought the same thing when I first started filming it - can't wait to use it next year!
Love me some Bassdope.
Im gonna have to get some of those they look killer. Also, im ready for a bait of the month and seeing them underwater
I am excited to use a them a lot next season!
Always love your tips, and that underwater footage is epic. 💯 🎣
Great video Steve! I'm gonna try the Chicken Jig on TRL!
How about an underwater showing if the loop knot really makes a difference
I would love to see that

I can definitely do some investigating with that one. My lake just froze up overnight, so I need some ice to melt off first. Lol. Thank you!

The shuttlecock is a very popular one here on the Tennessee river. Thanks for the footage. Helps knowing what my bait is doing. 👍
I will have to check that one out. Thank you!
Hey, Steve, great to see ya and pray u are well. Never threw a hair jig. Might have to give it a shot

They definitely look like they take a lot of time for sure. So fun to see it working underwater.
Could not find this lure.
They call it the Preacher Jig on their site. Under Hair Jigs I believe.
Also look at the Cloud-9 hair jig on there. That’s what I found when I looked.
Preacher jig looks like a Bucktail jig?
Looks like a Striper feather jig.
Also looks like a small cobia jig.
What weight is it and please do a better bait link
The White Horse preacher jig in this vid was 5/8oz. The Cloud-9 hair jig was 1/8oz. 👍🏻
I see Bassdope got your question answered.
I added some better links too. Thank you!
