    On the one hand, he needed to bring the medicine, but on the other hand...that was REALLY messed up for him to do lol

    There is no need to make noise at that point because the Walkers are already on their scent. He shot Otis so the Walkers would catch HIM so he could buy himself some time. They were not going to outrun the Walkers. I don't know if he took the time to consider a more HUMANE method. But you could argue that the more he screamed the more they would focus on Otis.

    Don’t understand why people think Shane was sooo wrong for sacrificing Otis, had they gone together it would’ve been too late and the walkers would’ve caught up to them by the time they reached the car

      cause they dont think realistic at all its kill or be killed in that sitution if u rlly break it down they have 3 options either they both die or they get saved by someone else somehow or you do what shane did to otis

    Cool fact: The zombies that appear in The Walking Dead actually have to go to "Zombie School", where they are instructed to observe people leaving bars late at night and imitate their movements.

    Amber, are you feeling like you maybe have a favorite Character yet? Georgia, did you have one at this point?

    Hey guys, thanks for the shout out!
    I'm not sure how cool I am, but thanks. Lol! Really love this episode as with the show. The moral ethical delemas are thought provoking, and the acting is so good. I loved Chandler Riggs in these last two episodes. You know the acting is good when you feel yourself being sucked in. Do you guys agree?

    I binged this show lat the end of last year. I only knew a couple of spoilers but it didn't mean much since I didn't know much about the show. What I didn't expect was all the crying I did with a Zombie TV show. I think I cried at 50% of the episodes.

    Why is Lori questioning if it would be better if Carl died. For that matter they all could have just died in the explosion at the CDC
    If you shoot him in the leg. And Shane XD
    Poor Otis

    What would b your Walker killing melee weapon of choice?

  • @jacob41057

    This is always THE Shane episode lol.
    I won't say I would've made the choice he made (I also won't say i wouldn't make that choice lol), but let's look at the facts. Shane had a wounded leg & he & Otis were on the other side of the school from their vehicle. They were moving slower than the walkers & would've both died without a distraction. Shane tried to sacrifice himself earlier, he even started taking the supplies he was carrying off but Otis wouldn't leave him. Shane even hits the ground in frustration cause he knows they'll be over taken because Otis won't leave him behind.
    I know people always make the "they could've done this or that" arguments but based on what we're told the facts are had they just tried running towards the truck they would've been over taken before getting to it. I might be mistaken but i think they explain that in this episodes Talking Dead after show but it's been years so i don't remember. Point being, Shane was in a high stress situation & tried to be the sacrifice himself. Had he not shot Otis then both of them & Carl would've died. Shooting Otis allowed Shane to live & Carl to make it.
    You can see Shane struggling with the decision in this very episode when talking to Rick & getting the clothes & shaving his head. He wasn't taking villainous glee in the act, it was hard for him & he truly liked Otis. They bonded during that trip & shooting him to save Carl wasn't what he wanted to do. He wanted to be left behind but knew Otis wouldn't do it & them arguing over it would've given the walkers more time to catch up.
    In my opinion this choice he made isn't the one that makes him evil. He could easily redeem himself from this decision.
    I look forward to seeing both of your thoughts on Shane going forward!!! This was one of my favorite episodes & What a good reaction ladies!!!

      Jake, you'd make a good defense attorney! Lol! The thing is Otis had already told Shane to go ahead. Shane didn't have to shoot him.

    • @jacob41057
      @jacob41057 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@gravitypronepart2201 Not 100% i remember Otis telling Shane to go ahead. Shane told Rick that Otis said that but that was a lie. They were walking side by side when Otis was shot.
      But here's the thing, When Shane told Otis to go without him he was taking steps to prove he meant what he said by trying to give Otis the supplies he was carrying. Otis never tried giving Shane his supplies so even if he did tell Shane to go ahead he didn't give over the supplies & if he died with them then Carl would've died. Thus defeating the whole point in them going out there to begin with.

      @@gravitypronepart2201 Oh & congrats on getting a shout out brother! lol

    • @gravitypronepart2201
      @gravitypronepart2201 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jacob41057 yeah, Shane is a complicated cat. I still think he didn't know if they could make it together, and decided to increase his chances. For me, even though Shane cares about Carl, he murdered a man with a wife who was doing the right thing. There is no way he's justified. Carl's life isn't more valuable or meaningful than Otis. Sometimes you just have to do what's right and Shane made the wrong choice. But either way, I think he would be haunted by any choice he made.

    • @jacob41057
      @jacob41057 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gravitypronepart2201 See I don't think life works in the level of black & white you're making it out to be.
      While you & I can say Carl's life doesn't matter more than Otis we're outside observers. What if it was your son though? I doubt there's many parents who'd say their kids life doesn't matter more to them than a strangers. Whether that's right or wrong I struggle with on occasion.
      All life is precious to a degree. But if my brother's life hung on me pulling off some objective or mission then I'm doing everything in my power to pull said objective/mission off. And if sacrificing a stranger guaranteed my brothers life I'm not 100% certain what I'd do. As i said in my OG comment I don't know if I'd make the choice Shane did. Mainly cause I don't think I'd be certain killing Otis would guarantee success. But let's be clear, if my death would guarantee my brothers survival I'd lay my life down. Shane tried to do that.
      And even as observers can we really say 100% that Carl's life doesn't matter a little more than Otis? He's a kid with an entire life ahead of him while Otis is seemingly in his 40's or more & lived a decent life up to that point. I mean there's a reason in most evacuations it's "Women & Children first".
      Now i don't know if i agree with the above argument. Haven't fully formed my finale opinion on that subject. But regardless Shane did kill Otis now it's all about what happens next (I'm trying to be spoiler free btw)
      Been a fun convo though my friend

    Sorry this comment is so late, but the reason Shane shot him in the leg is because the Walkers aren't attracted to dead people, only living. If he shot him in the head they wouldn't have been attracted to him so he wouldn't be "bait".
