    Not pregnant or planning to be pregnant anytime soon, but still enjoyed watching this, anyone else? 😄😄
    Wishing you all the best for a healthy and speedy delivery Christy!💙

    I would definitely still bring large pads. The clotting is a lot and can be large. That might be messy with just the period underwear. And the bleeding is a lot. I used the discreet underwear with a large pad and it was so nice to just throw them away. One pack was enough.

    • @ChristyGior8
      @ChristyGior8  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Oh yes! Pads inside the underwear for sure

      Yeees to this… the bleeding is real 😂😂😂 I used (Always discreet diaper for women) it worked perfectly for me and I will be bringing them this time around again.😊 (you will definitely need more diapers )

      Get some pain meds for a few days to feel better! Dont try being super Mom n I can do anything! Just let everyone help you n pamper yourself first!! Baby depends on you for feeds n newborns eat every hr on the hr! I know mine did as I done feed on demand. I felt like a cow n milk supply came in 2 days before births!

    I hate when people say “don’t bring a lot, you’ll only be there 24 hours” realistically, you just don’t know. I went in at 1am on a Tuesday morning to be induced, had a c-section on Wednesday and wasn’t discharged until Sunday. I was SO glad I “over” packed. Wishing you and baby boy the best delivery possible. Can’t wait for the baby videos!

    • @Shoupydidoop
      @Shoupydidoop 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same! I went in Wednesday evening to be induced, delivered Thursday evening but he went to the NICU (nothing super serious, oxygen wasn’t staying high enough). This was March 2020, the parent stay rooms were shut down and I was trying to breastfeed. I was discharged but they let us stay in our room until he was discharged Sunday. We live 45 minutes from our hospital so it was a real blessing. A teacher from our daycare was in labor for 4 days. You never know.

    Christy, I love you and your husband more than words can express. I have followed you for at least a year and my eyes filled with tears when I saw you caring for your African American daughters' hair. With all the hatred and division in our country, you and your husband continue to have a genuine love for your adopted children. I am so glad that the new family member is on his way! It gives me great joy to watch your videos. Love and Blessings!

    I feel you’re quite underpacked in the mommy clothes department. You can bleed through your night shirt as well no matter the pad, and the long sleeves might make it hard for the iv. My hospital required I bring at least three pjs/gowns and at least two robes, packed 4 and 3 and used them all to feel clean. ❤️ I brought six outfits for little one, was not enough with all the spitting, my mom had to bring extra ( they recommended I bring at least four changes of clothes for baby and four burp cloths, was not enough). And electronics, like many have said, long phone charger and perhaps an extension chord.

    lol no shame on bringing whatever you need to be comfy! I'm young and have never had a baby but the baby fever is real and I am enjoying watching your journey to see what I'd have to go thru one day because I'm very excited to be a mom eventually but theres so much I feel no one mentions like pain on your nips and down there post partum so thank you for being real. I have health issues and tend to go to the hospital once/month so packing hospital bags is not new to me, I ALWAYS bring my own blanket and sometimes a stuffed animal or something cozy just to feel more at home.

  • @jacquelinezoccolillo9808

    They should be giving you Dermablast, witch hazel, large pads and the gauze type boy shorts….Ask for a restock every time a nurse comes in… you will live with that combo for your first few weeks. If it’s not a permanent part of the room you are paying for it so BRING IT ALL HOME!!!! Even if you don’t think you will use it… you will be surprised

    You just reminded me that I need to pack my little portable fan as well and my only suggestion is that I've heard of alot of mamas taking a comb so that they can kinda press the teeth of the comb against their palm during contractions to basically help "distract" from the pain, I'm definitely trying it and maybe you'd like to try as well. Yayyyy what an exciting time! I'm due the first week of July so our babies will be close in age ♥️

    I would suggest an extra nursing bra just in case! With all 3 of my births I wore a nursing bra during delivery and didn’t think to pack more than one until my 3rd. 😂 It was so nice to have a clean nursing bra to change into after my postpartum shower.

    Nightgown is cute, however it’s long sleeve & you will be having an IV. It could be in the hand, forearm or anticubital fossa (crook of elbow). The last 2 places will be difficult w/ that nightgown. Heavy duty pads.

    You may want to check into getting a “haakaa” , catch’s your milk from the breast your not feeding/nursing from, when your “let down” happens you’ll want every ounce of that liquid gold!
    Wish they’d have had them 30 years ago when I had my babies, my daughters and daughter-in-law really liked them! Sending positive energy and prayers for you and your family on this new chapter in your lives.

    Every hospital is different but in terms of medication, they will absolutely provide you with everything you need because they will be monitoring the kind of medication you have and it’s not recommended you take anything yourself unless they give it to you, other than that the hospital gives you many postpartum items so take as many as you are allowed, trust me, I’m really happy for you and your family 💝 also definitely have a long phone charger!!!!

  • @nikkiwaits921

    Congratulations! I think we all over pack but it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it, right? I barely used any of the stuff I brought for myself. You can never over pack for baby. I had a planned C-section for Friday and was officially discharged on Monday but due to me having a fever of 103 degrees I had to be readmitted. I and my baby didn't get discharged until Saturday evening. I actually had to use the clothes I brought to the hospital. before I left they had to wash my baby's onesie for me.

    • @Shoupydidoop
      @Shoupydidoop 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I learned 2 tricks. For the hospital ice pads wet your hand and use that to wet the pad (makes it feel so much colder)! They will let you bring whatever they brought you home but they don’t absorb much so put a second layer under like the folded up bed pad if that’s what your hospital does. Second tip, take a baby diaper, open it like a bag of chips on the side with the velcro, put crushed ice under the padding, then fold the velcro over and close! So much more absorbent and cold 🥶

    Okay one more thing! This video is great, Idk if it’s because I already follow you but it’s very organized and to the point. I think you clearly explained you were bringing extra just in case and you knew you might not need it but some people some places do. All of our experiences are different so over packed for some is under packed for others. I love seeing the comments when people talk about their birthing experiences I wish more women did, down to the nitty gritty.

  • @Shoupydidoop
    @Shoupydidoop 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I’d add a velcro swaddle if you have any. My babies were bother almost 10lbs and they were able to break out of the blanket swaddles even when the nurses were doing them.

    • @Shoupydidoop
      @Shoupydidoop 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh also! A blanket and pillow for dad, not sure if the ones you were bringing were for him but if they were for you I might bring and extra and leave it in the car and he can go grab it if he wants.

    I absolutely love how prepared you are but trust me you definitely over packed lol. I just had my first child in March and I packed a huge tote bag for the hospital. I hardly used anything in my bag. The hospital provides so much for you and baby. I gave birth in NY so I’m not sure how the hospitals are in Vegas but I would definitely call the hospital that you plan on giving birth in to see what they provide. That’s what I did. If anything it’s dad that really needs to pack.

    • @pumpkinqueen3776

      I feel as though she underpacked 🙈🙈🙈one night gown? What if it gets gross and bloodied during birth then that’s it? Three outfits for baby when all they do is spit? I used like 8-9 outfits for baby. To each their own but I couldn’t pack so lightly 😅

    Still wear a size up from what you were or maternity clothes it takes a minute for your stomach to go back. Always underwear was a lifesaver for me so much easier than fooling with the pads just get a pack…postpartum wrap us super helpful I should have got a bigger size of that too so I should have got plus size so I wasn’t able to wear one at the hospital.

      @@ChristyGior8 if you go into labor spontaneously it could get messy. With my oldest, my water broke, and I lost my mucus plug on the drive the hospital. My clothes got soiled and not something I would have wanted to wear at discharge.

      @@ChristyGior8 that one might work. If you find that it's too hot (because of the elastic), there are Bengkung binder cloths that I wish I had when I was postpartum.

    Ok, so you overpacked. No shade. Would love a video of what you actually used from all these things. Just so other new moms can see. Also , you will definitely take a shower in hospital, you bleed heavier than your normal period. Very happy for you and your brood.
