When you play music for a young child, and all they hear is the high information music, there is NOTHING complicated about it... it's just music; the twelve notes, and all rhythm is easy to decipher. So for a child, being exposed early to complicated music is such a gift and these are musicians that typically (not always) grow up to be the greats.

I met Narada in Detroit when I was an engineer at United Sound back in the 80's he is such a class act and a REAL professional. On top of that he was such a nice person...

Waldens drumming on one of Robert Fripp’s solo albums blew my head off.

I've been a fan of Narada since his first solo record. Then with Jeff Beck on Wired, incredible. Every subsequent album has been a continued adventure with the strong rhythms and emotional melodies, just pure enjoyment.
I went to a talk Narada gave in Berkeley, I don't even remember how that came to be. But it was a thrill to be their in person with this person I've loved so much with his positive energy. He surprised me at the end, I went up to say hello and Narada said to us looking at me- "I looked out and saw you and I thought if I just keep focused on him I'll say the right thing."(!)
Whoa, what a wonderful connection I never expected.
I was very happy to see Narada involved with Neal Schon's Universe record and then Journey, another long time favorite.
Oh, I also saw you with Jeff five times in Marin, Napa, and Saratoga!!! ❤️
Keep thundering those drums Narada, and touching our hears with your beautiful music!
Thanks for this interview, just great.

Narada Michael Walden was a great influence of mine growing up, first with the Mahavishnu Or. albums he played on, then with his solo albums, specifically: Garden of Love Light; I Cry, I Smile; Awakening; The Dance of Life and Victory. I wonder sometimes why he has not had the desire to make a record, here and there, of more compositionally challenging music.

I was just blasting those 70's Mahavishnu records where he played on. An amazing drummer!

What an energising experience! I kept being reminded of someone as Narada was speaking but couldn’t quite place it until I realised - Shawn Pelton - that energy loop of gratitude and enthusiasm coupled with commitment to always learning and giving.

I seen a lot of your interviews Dom but as you said having such an inspired "Michaelangelo" to communicate with lifted you, me and of course Narada (not to mention every other person watching) to another realm altogether. Blessings.

Dom this is such a great exchange - full of love and enthusiasm, humility and sincerity. NMW's career is a very uncommon mix of prodigious DRUMMING ability and a Producer authority that puts him in the area of David Foster and Quincy. Thank you for this marvellous interview.

I have 2 wows... One, this guy is quite the talent. What an inspiration! And, two... Dom, I'm glad to see you are well. I heard about you just recently. My friend told me. Got a little gulp in my throat.. The thing is... you are getting younger by the year (somehow), and you are alive and kickin'!! Hope I can have another session with you in the near future. You are in my debut video, by the way. Can't believe it's been over 2 decades now. DAMN!!! Anyway, great video!! 2 incredible talents! And, if you wanna go back in time a little, check [you] out in my video. I cherish every moment! Be well! th-cam.com/video/4ClApjvKpC4/w-d-xo.html
