I'm very deeply touched by film and event and deeply impressed by the courage and the feeling of community in Standing Rock. I feel all the pain that has come and still is coming along with colonialism!!
I have been deeply connected with the story of the Dakota since childhood due to the historic novels by Liselotte Welskopf-Henrich, Die Söhne der Großen Bärin (The sons of Great bear mother).
It's truely important to tell the stories of each human being to find one's own nativeness that we lost in the course of colonial history.
Colonial thinking now reveals its destructive nature.
It's time to turn away from it and go back home to mutual support and community.
My heart and mind is with you.
We're all connected. Regards from northeast Germany.

Thank You! For all the people who got together to make this film "Oyate" happen. It really shows how a nation comes together, to show how we all can stand together for your community, and also in our communities to help with awareness and truth. Very educational. Looking forward to more films.

In response to the panels request to comment on what as viewers perceived. What I see is that you spoke your truth! You are all strong, connected people whom are making a large contribution to the collective of humanity ! Your path is and has been a difficult one to walk. It so wrong what colonialism did to your cultures. This wrong is known and change is happening. You have my love and support!
    My heart is with you

3:01:51 !! That is the colonialist's/capitalist's trauma: they sacrificed their sensitivity, they gave it up, because their educators insisted long enough, and they had noone who reminded them of their connection to every being and thing and the wonder of creation. To give up is their coping mechanism when facing superior power: their time is over either way. Be it by final destruction of resources or by the nonviolent revolution of the sensitive, empathic, caring, appreciative humans who refuse to be devided, dissociated from themselves and each other and mother earth. This is the superior power of the future, for the future. I start loving my life, when I live it in this spirit.
