    I get the best results with water, I leave the water on longer, adding water to keep wet, I make sure the transfer is complete before I remove the papers

    Wow that is a perfect image. I might have asked you this before but does the image stay on - due to the nature of polish remover? And does the polish remover interact with the clay? Many thanks for sharing- you are a true artist.

    This was a great tutorial, thank you. I do want people to know that nail polish remover is highly flammable so please be very careful with it near any open flame. You cannot see the flame when it catches on fire and if it is on your skin you can be badly burned. It won’t catch fire in the oven but will near an open flame or spark.

    I’m sure I just watched a video where someone used water 💦 to wet the face of the clay with a finger & then placed the paper/image on, wet the back by dabbing with a wet finger until all the image was wet & showing through the back of the paper. Great video good luck everyone.

    I tried this with plain acetone from the paint department. It works! Mine didn't come out as dark, but I guess I just have to change the settings on the printer to use the most toner...Thank you for this tute, I'm so happy not to have to make decals or buy special papers!!

      @@sharonmays7083 Hi. Just going to chime in here. The ability for the transfer to take place has EVERYTHING to do with the toner in the printer. The make and model matter. I have no less than 3 different lasers; 2 color, one black and only the black worked. It is an old model Samsung (I've had it for over 10 years). My two color lasers are a Brother that prints 2400x600 and a Samsung that prints 4800x4800 (very fine for a laser). Neither color transferred using this method and my clay was very fresh and sticky. In fact, the color Samsung's toner doesn't even take an oven well and the yellow fades almost completely if heated for too long. Also, I have read that toners that do not use "fuser oil", don't work very well when transferring to polymer clay, and unfortunately, the older model lasers are the ones that utilized this. Some print shops have printers that still use fuser oil so you might be able to have sheets printed at a printer and just keep them on hand. My tried and true method is to burnish onto the surface, bake my plastic, then rub off the paper under running water. I *really* wanted the nail polish remover to work, her results are amazing!

  • @juliecraven9372
    @juliecraven9372 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you leave the paper on until the clay dries, all your color will transfer. Then use your finger and get it wet to take the paper off.

    Is the nail polish remover one with acetone? What about trying straight acetone?
    On the TH-cam site The Crafsman, he did image transfers with the image printed on the shiny part of backing paper for stickers. I guess baking parchment would be a similar type of surface. Anyway, it worked really well!

    • @barockeuse
      @barockeuse 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      there is one !
      Print your image on a sheet of cooking paper (also called wax paper, I think) that you will cut a little shorter than your regular printing paper, you will stick the top of the cooking paper on the top of the regular printing paper with some adhesive tape. Print. Cut around the image, put the printed face on the raw clay, burnish gently but thoroughly : all the ink should transfer from the paper to the clay. Be careful not to let the image move over the clay otherwise the colors could smudge! Next step : curing in your oven.
      I confess I didn't try but I have found this technique explained on several pages...
      Keep in mind that if your image is printed in bright or dark colors, the result should be better than if the colors are pastel colors.
      You can also use liquid polymer clay...
