I agree with Bart on this 12 yr select bottle, it's just OK. I've owned the 12 yr, Alexander King and 18 yr. I don't know if you know this, but every Dalmore product starts in an ex-bourbon cask. Knowing this, all of their bottles are way overpriced and they don't deliver for me. I avoid Dalmore and save my money for better IB bottles for much less price. Great review.

nothing wrong with that at all, thanks Keith!

Spot on comments. Dalmore 12 yo suffers from a low abv, added coloured and chill filtered. The whole range is rather expensive too. Having said that, each to their own , Scott clearly loved it.

I think I tried this, or the regular Dalmore 12 and then tried Glenallachie 15 right after and wow what a difference. The Glenallachie was amazing while the Dalmore was astringent and bitter but also was sweet upfront. I recommend just drinking a bottle of sherry if that's what you like. Sherry is great!

I'm glad that you both reviewed this bottle. Picked one up at $79.99 but have yet to open and try it. I really loved the now discontinued Gran Reserva bottling. Killed my last of several bottles during Covid. Anyone have any thoughts as to how the Sherry Cask Select compares to the Gran Reserva?

Gran Reserva was the precursor to the Cigar Malt if i'm correct. It should be much older...

    Thanks for reviewing Dummies.
Think I follow Bart and leave it. Only wondering where the 83 points came from...

This one’s sitting in my cabinet after my first few drams. I’m just not excited to go back to it. I wish I got all those flavors Scott picked up.

Gentlemen, happy Father's Day!!!!! I Loved Scott. Trying to show Bart fingers on ABV was hilarious, I agree most people in the whiskey society do not like Dalmore, they do have a good point, I truly enjoyed cigar malt, I think Bart drinks too much peated whiskey (nothing wrong with that) $70 it's a great price. Cheers gentlemen. Enjoy your father's day!!!!

I really like Dalmore’s spirit profile. To me this is the best Dalmore for under $200. Got it on sale for $60.

Still havnt tried any guess the low abv gets me but don't you hate it when you can often get something cask strength but theres no age or you get age but low abv or you paying crazy for age and higher abv ..just got some 2022 diago special release .can't bring myself to open and try at the moment but cheers guys thanks for your review .have a good weekend All

'Panna Cotta' means "cooked cream" and it's an Italian cold dessert often served with caramel syrup.

It is a really good whisky, lots of raisins, orange, sherry... Feels like there's more than 43 abv.

I'm concerned about Bart's taster. What happened to #trustBart? Lol. Sounds like 2 different bottles. Sounds good on 1 side and just bleh on the other. I'm gonna have to search more reviews on this one or try a sample prior to purchase. Hmmm.

This one goes for $82 here (NC). Absolutely not worth it at that price point. Dalmore keeps the ABV down which is unfortunate. I like what Dalmore offers but they are way overpriced. At least they are here.

ABV is on par with other 12 year olds for the most part, but would still like to see 12's around $60. I remember the $40 days for 12 year olds...
