This channel really makes me appreciate Adam's love for films and filmmaking. Many people would probably write hom off as just another guy who dislikes everything that's popular, but a glimpse behind the scenes really makes one realize that he cares a lot about the art form and takes his self-assigned duty as a critic very seriously and works very hard to meet his own standards. Truly the reliable workhorse of TH-cam-based reviewers.
LOL. The first video I ever made for my video art class was edited to where the shots were cut too quickly. I understood what was happening because I am the one who edited it, but my class and teacher didn't because it's all new information for the audience and they need more time to process what's happening. I learned that after my first assignment lol. Think of your audience's perspective.

Adam you should string all of those f sharps from all the different languages together into one note like shorten all the clips down to just that f sharp in each language paste them all together so it sounds like one long f sharp and then at the end completely go with John favreau's to ruin it to show people that his note was off
I know he keeps saying that he is worried about the review length but I genuinely think that he should make it as long as he needs without trying to limit it at all. Anything less and he won't have gotten everything out and will still have a mountain of frustrating things that he wishes he talked about. You know, going into the movie, for the ending of Can't Wait To Be King, since I knew the animals couldn't stand on each other, I was expecting the animals to do a conga line that is the shape of the lion that Rafiki draws in his tree or something like that. But then I remembered that hoping for quality in this movie is useless.

The Brazilian dub sounds so good! Ghe voice of Simba is doing exactly what Adam's described before, singing and acting at the same time. The volume and tone of his voice reflects joy, excitement, and pride.

Part of this is due to tech in certain countries, but also part of it is certain languages only airing on TV via places like disney channel. This is changing as streaming services become more popular, but languages such as Czech, Hindi, Tamil, Tulugu, Serbian, etc. Tend to have more consistent issues with this, at least when I used to do it for cartoons airing on TV. It is especially an issue when you have copyright taking down High quality uploads even if they arent online anywhere, and is what leads to so many dubs being entirely lost in countries that dont have home media releases. Usually if they are on official channels, they were either unnoticed due to their title or uploaded after the multilanguage release. What is insane is that disney movies can have upwards of 40 versions. Moana had a hawaiian version with a main character that was voiced by the same person as the english version.

When I trained to voice act one of the fundamentals is how to emphasize the right word on the line. It’s all wrong here in my opinion. But that’s the job of a voice director to point that out and help the actors. For some reason they decided not to hire one though? I don’t see any voice directors or vocal coaches on IMDB, and Jon has done live action directing so he has no idea what he’s doing. I really think if they had a decent voice director it would go a long way.
I'm really hoping that with 10 highlight videos of the editing process that this is the best damn YMS ever. I want a Breath of the Wild, not a Mighty No. 9!
the thing with these highlights is that adam reiterates his points so much that the first few times are funny, then he keeps going and it feels tedious, but then he just. keeps. going. for so long that it comes back around to be hilarious again. it's addictive
I wasn't watching when Adam was talking about the "awesome shot" but it only took me a second before I realised he was referring to the original and not the remake.
With every highlights video, I get more invested not just in the review, but also how further into madness Adam is delving. He absolutely deserves a looooong break for going through this 😅

If he gets Disney+, he can watch the movie in a fair amount of languages and record bits of whatever song he needs with a desktop recorder, will likely be cheaper than ordering DVDs from around the world.
It's literally the shortest way of doing it. Maybe not the cheapest; to illegally download is, but this method won't ensure that everything will be in great quality, which he obviously cares for. He can pay for one month or start a free trial subscription if he hadn't already, boot up the Disney+ website, pause the movie at the part of whatever song he wishes to use for the video, since he's obviously not interested in showcasing the entirety of every song, then start the desktop sound recorder and hit play. He can instantly go to the settings while the movie is playing and change the language, then skip back a few seconds to capture the right parts again, and when he's done, stop the recorder. He'll be able to edit the sound file in his video editor, the entire process only takes a minute or two. He won't be able to buy DVDs from all around the world, pop them in separately and extract what he wants, nor download every movie and do the same thing under the same amount of time.

If he gets Disney+, he can watch the movie in a fair amount of languages and record bits of whatever song he needs with a desktop recorder, will likely be cheaper than ordering DVDs from around the world.

It's literally the shortest way of doing it. Maybe not the cheapest; to illegally download is, but this method won't ensure that everything will be in great quality, which he obviously cares for.
He can pay for one month or start a free trial subscription if he hadn't already, boot up the Disney+ website, pause the movie at the part of whatever song he wishes to use for the video, since he's obviously not interested in showcasing the entirety of every song, then start the desktop sound recorder and hit play.
He can instantly go to the settings while the movie is playing and change the language, then skip back a few seconds to capture the right parts again, and when he's done, stop the recorder.
He'll be able to edit the sound file in his video editor, the entire process only takes a minute or two.
He won't be able to buy DVDs from all around the world, pop them in separately and extract what he wants, nor download every movie and do the same thing under the same amount of time.
