"Apply light and tasteful palm muting to the single note runs so as to avoid the notes bleeding through one another, but leaving enough ring to them." Can you explain what did you meant by this? Im new so this video helps me a lot.. this is actually one of songs that really motivated me to pick up guitar hoping that one day i could play it :D
Hey man, so basically when you play the part with the single notes after the intro, since they are played on three strings, they might all ring at the same time and the sound of one note might overlap with the next etc ... That's what I mean by bleed through. By applying some palm muting, you will reduce that ring so that only the note you pick will ring with clarity, the others being muted. Too much palm muting will lead to the notes not ringing long/clearly enough though. Therefore, you need some very light muting for it to sound clean and clear. Besides, some notes can be accentuated or not with more or less muting. Don't worry that's something that comes naturally with time and practice, and by playing a lot of different songs! Good luck and don't hesitate if you have more questions!
