We have 6 chickens and just wanted share a few tips you may or may not know. First if you put a fake egg in the coop where they lay eggs it will help them know where to lay and become comfortable. Also if you store your eggs in the fridge then I would go ahead and wash. But you can also leave unwashed eggs at room temp. Love to see your newest family addition!

Those Benchmade knives are great. I got my husband one for Christmas a few years ago after the one he had that was his dad's, who passed away, was stolen when someone broke into his car. It's gotten a lot of good use and still looks new.
Their eggs last so much longer and you can tell when they're bad by floating them in water. If they come to the top they're bad but if they sink, they're still good. Fresh eggs are the best and hens are super sweet.

The breed of the brown chicken is a Comet! She did not lay that greenish egg 😂 she will lay a light brown egg. I have several comets and they are the best 😊
Not sure if anyone has commented this yet, but fresh eggs can last for over a month if you don't wash the shell and leave them at room temp. You can refrigerate them, but they last longer unwashed and room temp. :)
